You got the set up right with the 1,3 fluid tip and the T110 cap. I've used this set up for clear coats for ten years without problems. I've have noticed in our bodyshop that the TE20 can sometimes cause solvent popping with heavy applications with certain clear coats, especially in warm weather.
@@TonysRefinishingTV The 1st time spraying with GTI I went same speed as I did the FLG4. Got bad orange peel so next time I slowed down then light orange peel but solvent pop. Gun setting full fan, full fluid 30 psi with 75% overlap 4-5" from panels.
thats one thing i need to do with this gun really have a good play with the different caps and see how they all compare love the T110 but i know the others will be good and have there uses too

I still use my FLG4 gun, performs as good as the day i bought it, I use tht for both base /clear with my different caps w/the Dekups system. Hasn't failed me yet.
I have a flg4 also and ,have yu ever change the seal in your paint gun I can't seem to find no kit for my flg4,it's hard for me to get a glass finish wat set up are yu using

hi tony, great video, would you recommend the T110 aircap for 2k direct gloss or does devilbiss make a cap better suited for direct gloss?, many thanks as always
Excellent info as usual!!! Tony would you say the devilbiss dv1 b1 is better than the gti pro lite te10 for base??I'm looking for a new gun but find it hard to look past lights..plus they're cheaper!!!!
Hi Tony good vid that one, what set up would you recomend to achieve factory chunky type finishes with ease,i use w400 for clear and older type gti for base
+steve ruf i ru the same set up full fan ect but i run the gun at 1.8 bar instead of 2.0 for the factory look, the other option is to run the same pressure but take your gun that touch further back from the panel and thats will do the same
Hi Tony , your review has dented the loving relationship I have for my bell aria . You were the one guy on TH-cam who loved the iwata bell aria as much as me . The gunman's favourite is the pro lite , Matty from backstreet customs the same . Shall I end my 15 year loyalty to team iwata and jump on the devilbiss bus.? Lol . Keep up the great work
+Stuart England lol sorry about that , my Iwata very much is still in use and is my ms clear gun now , the prolite setup I have is specific for the hs hence why it's so great with it , I Wudnt get rid of the Iwata lol but the devilbiss is a better gun to me if I'm honest and well worth a try anyday
Hello Tony,I haven't seen you post any new video's lately.Which gun do you say is better atomized the (flg 5)or the devilbiss pro lite with the( t110 cap),& which gun waste"s more material..?
I recently bought this cap to spray 2k UHS clear. I set the gun to 2 bar or 28/29psi but whenever i spray i ended up qith a lot of air/gas in the clear and then it disspaears after a couple of seconds. Fluid is nornally turned out 2 whole turns. Any idea what could be causing it? Too high pressure or too much material? If i turn the pressure down to 22/24psi then its okay but the atomisation isnt as great
thanks mate, so Im guessing it says high efficiency on the air cap it self and not just trans tech. just got myself a pro lite gun and was just doing some research into the air caps, as there so expensive I wouldn't want to make the wrong decision.
+Premier fake scratch card reaction that's no problem mate and yes they are expensive that's why I just ordered mine with the setup I most wanted and then bought other caps second hand to try them but this cap is my go to cap no matter what the job
Excellent, that looks like the the clear for my job then. I'm using a Nexa Base coat which says if I use an HS clear then the base needs to be activated. I'd guess this is the same if I use a non Nexa clear? The job is a restoration of an E type Jag with a bare metal full paint so gonna be busy. Hope 'ya don't mind the questions I'm sure there'll be more. Cheers again man, the vids and editing are great by the way.
Good day, I have 2 Devilbiss 2000 Millenium GTI spray guns (gravity and pressure feed) and I want to have GLASS PERFECT result with waterbased polyurethane. Can I use a 1.3 tip with T110 air cap on these guns, since this seems the perfect setup for clear coat ?
honestly this video is a long time back lol , it was a cold day on this day so used a fine wet closed coat for the first just to give grip to the heavier second finish coat
Tonys_Refinishing what have you been doing nowadays as far as your adjustments? I’ve been doing the 1.3/4 turn on the first coat and 2.5-3.0 turns out on the second.
I would of done that myself but they only had one gun left in the steam punk (professor) limited edition and it had a Te10 Base air cap, so went for it but have to order T110 air cap separate for lacquer
+Premier fake scratch card reaction personally I'd try and look for one second hand first if you can wait and then if not go for a new one mate that's what I did I found the other caps to try through Facebook sites ect and ended up paying as little as £30 for some

I'm getting solvent pop with 1.2 T110 cap 54% solids?
