Hands down The Gunman is the best sprayer on TH-cam. All of his videos are very detailed and educational where he doesnt beat around the bush about what his settings are or how he sprays. 100% an honest man who speaks from the heart and not from his wallet. He doesnt constantly advertise any bs websites like everybody else because he isnt a complete sell out like all the other sprayers on youtube. My fullest respects to you Gunman. Hats off to you, your willingness to share your knowledge and most importantly your honest opinions and reviews. Ive learned so much from your videos and actually bought this exact gun with the TE20 air cap simply because of how well you show and explain everything in your videos. You deserve millions of subs in my opinion.
The t110 air cap is the best air cap I have ever used. And you are right, it produces more overspray using more material, but the finish quality is the best in my opinion, especially for clear. The Gti-W in the past has the 110 air cap, and I still have that gun. Good review.
Always used 110 on my pro and pro lights but you are so right on te20. Speeds things up so much and seems to handle the more expensive clears better. I'm an old fart now been spraying cars since 1979 so used devillbis right back to the old jga guns. Great advice and spot on. Feel the force.
Nice to hear a Fellow with THAT much Pride in his Work. We have a Family owned shop, and we ALL feel like OUR NAME Rolls out the door with EVERY vehicle that we Repair. We treat them All like they were OURS Im Proud of you!!
Thank you for sharing your skills. I am stuck at home healing from an ankle replacement and watching your video so I remember how to paint 2 months from now. I have a 71 mach 1 mustang to restore next. Truly appreciate your time and sharing, I have truly improved my skills through your help. Barry from Montana, Krown Restoration.
Started watching your channel because my dad and I are building a 65 year old hot rod and at some point it’s going to need paint. Great information and you know your trade. Thank you
your a ledgend gunny, im learning so much from you, im in my late 30's would love to do spray painting and no one will take me on, im teaching my self through your videos.
Hi Gunny I know this is an old video but the Tekna Prolite for me was a heaven send when I was spraying Waterborne base. The HVLP cap was perfect for those high humidity days and the te10 was wetter and was perfect for those hot dry low humid days .The TE20 cap was great for the winter and all around mid temps low humid days not too wet ,not too dry.I found the hard way the TE20 and TE10 with Waterborne on high humid days just sprayed it too too wet and the flash times were very long and the HVLP worked perfect for humid days .The Tekna/Gti guns are perfect all around and very versatile guns for whatever you want to spray .Sealer, base (solvent or water) clear, direct gloss it does it all 👍
Another great job Gunman! And mate my hat is off to you for your concern for quality in a world where money comes first at the expense of quality! Im like you... if I need to do it twice to gt it right then I do
Sometimes I lay that clear on and don't even buff it .. soon as I think I got everything under control... I get a job in and that clear is running off the bottom or a body line .. your videos help every painter .
I do resto work and was never happy with the finish I was getting with the te20, after watching this I switched out to the t110 and got some of the best clearcoat finishes I've ever had, another very useful and informative video, thumbs up from me!
Nice work Gun man, thanks for the insight, just laid 3 coats debeer clear on my VW project, with the TE20, in the home built booth! (dust guard) . got a fantastic finish overall, very satisfying. Thanks for all your vids along the way.
I got a t110 ordered! Thanks for all of the technical advice that you take the time to do in your videos! You are a special and unique technician and keep up the great work! Quality always wins over quantity! In our line of work things a lot of struggles have to be overcame, and you have helped me in my struggles with painting!
Thanks always gunman I order the t110 few years back long story I got away from painting but now I feel it again so I trust your taste I see you said te20 but I know I always can change the cap thanks again
Great review gunny. Personally I love the t110 aircap, the big thing with it for me is I can lay down the clear heavy to get that nice wet look but with very little orange peel where as with the te20 I get just a little more peel, this is using budget hs clear so the cap has paid for itself many times over by allowing a nice wet finish that previously I needed better quality clears for. The te10 is a good basecoat cap and ok for ms clears but it isn't really suited to hs clears in my experience. With the low air consumption of the T110 it would be the perfect cap for diy guys doing resto work looking for a nice flat finish imo and it also lays candies very even and flat. Oh and I use the te10,te20 and t110 on my lite and as well as my pro and the only difference I have noticed is the pro needs 27 to 29 psi to atomise the same as the lite does at 24 to 26 psi, other than that I can't notice a difference in the finished product. Keep the vids coming love your work. Cheers
I've not painted one complete car ever even thought I've been wanting to start painting for a while now, but the love and passion gunman has for his trade, makes me feel the same about it. Gunny is the best
Gunman, your videos rock, high 5 from Southern California, watch them on my lunch brakes. With your help I was able to teach myself how to paint and painted my first full car, my 1987 Toyota Supra
I use T10 for basecoats,T20 for UHS and T110 for everything ! T20 makes more peel,but the finish with T110 is flawless,like a glass.Good video Gunny :)
In the comments below you mentioned the TE10 & T110 are similar but not the same. What is the main difference between the two? Couldnt find any videos of you comparing the two. Based on your reviews i will be purchasing the Tekna prolite (im in the USA) with the TE10 & TE20 caps and multiple fluid tips. Was thinking of buying the T110 cap separately but not sure if there is enough difference to justify the additional cost. Great videos!!! Thank you for taking the time to educate the masses!
wow gun what a awesome review. you are a very impressive painter I'm still waiting on your review on different clears from price low to high and on base coats to we'll good job gun
Excellent video sir. You have a great sense of humor, but you're an absolute professional and it comes through in every video that you make. So thank you for taking the time especially for the up-and-comers in this trade.
Hi mate quick question I have a Gti with a T110 aircap but a Gti Pro with the T2 aircap which would be best for glass like clear new t2 or old T110 Thanks
Hello from the USA ! Work at a shop everyday painting, love your work friend. I always learn a little more with your videos, much appreciated might as well buy one to add to the collection ha ha ha !
Great videos gunman, I've learned a lot. One thing I,d like to say is as a at home diyer the pressure I use for this gun is 1 bar. 2 bar would work if I had a paint booth like yours and the ventilation. I wish one day.
I love This video.. T110 is what I was suggested to as I am a hopeless beginner and I was told it's the most forgiving for a ham fisted painter like myself :). Would you agree for beginners?
to the gun man i am very impressed with your knowledge and abilities. i started paintin years ago with laquers and synthetic enamels my fav gun wasthe mbc develbiss lots of changes since but im sure many remember keep up the good videos much apreciated sir robert thanx
ok i did I just purchase the devilbliss pro lite t110 1.3 thanks again for video I wouldn't never knew about this gun until now and just seen it on another person video on TH-cam so thanks again
Hey Gunman, it's great to see a new video again ;) This video is the reason why I will get the T110 aircap for the pro lite. I hope everything went fine back in Perth. I will stay tuned ;) I wish you all the best. And as you say: Let's paint some shit ;)
And,,, The second you stated that automotive painting is supposed to look like a factory finish - That instantly told the world that you actually know your trade !!!! ALOT of painters & the common man believe that the end result is supposed to be that super flat mirror finish found on magazine hot rod show cars.....
That's the problem with the general public they think they know what they're talking about but they only have half the information and the other half was from a friend, Which makes them half as much as dangerous then they become a pain in your ass they think they're going to pay $600 and get a $6,000 spray job, lack of information on products, an a high expectations is a real problem
Thanks for that Man, this is one of my favorite videos from you now. I'm glad someone like you took the time to explain these caps as i just don't have time at work to really test them in depth like you have. I own them both and this video has given me insight on were and how to use them to my advantage a little better. Thanks again.
+Rick Sammons I was at work watching on my phone then got half way through and my data cap ran out. so only got half the video at lunch time was pissed off lol.
Bloody he'll Gunney Jesus your a brilliant painter from going from one gun setting to the next and yet a totally different way of painting you're friggen great OK gunny take care and have a good weekend and thanks for the videos too man 👍
@The Gunman I have been getting a factory peel to my finishes with the Te20 cap, so you are saying I should see a noticeable difference with a more glass like look with the TE10 cap?
thanks for the shot out to us U.S followers! we get the black one would be sweet to get the gold one. I was a data man when I started in 1998 then switched to iwata in the later half in my career. love my new pro light
What he said @5:50 is sacred. Some pros relentlessly swear at their technique being the best, but the technology of a spray gun plays important role. A couple of weeks ago I got an R150 after your recommendation. Took it to my friend's shop, he uses SATA exclusively. He just had to say that the fan isn't as wide ajd gives a bit more overspray than on his mini SATA and I was trying to explain it to him that he is comparing his HVLP cap with a conventional one and a price difference of almost 300 eur. Once you gain confidence and you know what you are doing, stick with it and don't listen to others. As the gunman said, it is the end result that matters.
Man that is a mad coat of clear your smashing it on lol love the videos mate and it's obvious you have a passion for the trade you can tell in your work and your voice thanks for being genuine dude clear to see why you have the followers
Gunman, What is the best air pressure on the Tekna pro lite with 1.3 tip and what air cap in 65 degree weather. Which is the tip and cap that have less orange peels. You have great video on youtube sir.
I have watched you use a te20 cap and it looked pretty dam smooth to me you saying the 110 gives you a flat glass job may be true but the 20 does it too. I use a GFG-670 1.2 tip really nice finish but wastes material like a SOB
Great job. I am spraying a high solids clear with a Tekna Prolite 1.3 tip and te20 cap. What do you recomend for fluid and air pressure settings to minimize orange peel? Would the te10 cap produce less orange peel? Are you sprayinGB your second coat on directly after the first with no flash time in between?
Sprayguns Direct indicates about 9.4 cfm. on the TE10 or T110 air caps. You call the TE10 a LVLP cap. Im assuming to obtain much below that air requirement you need to got to a mini gun - correct? BTW your spray technique is smooth smooth. Guess that comes from 16 years of spraying
Hey Gunman,Terrific vid. Thanks so much. I just did a job last weekend with the TE-20 cap (& 1.3) but am always getting a whack of orange peel. I was thinking about running the TE-10 and will give it a try. I did find that cranking up the pressure reduced the peel wit the 20, so will try the 10 cap at 30 PSI and hopefully get more of a glass finish. You also have a strong following because you have great morale's and believe in quality work. Your fans appreciate that. A LOT!!
a question mr paint man can u do a video on the benefits and application of waterbase paints and the difference of low solid clears compared to high solids. i know alot about clears and paint but theres always sumthin to learn thanx rob😋
Hey Gunny I have the tenka pro lite with the T110 and T20. And I am thinking about the sagola 4600 extreme any recommendation? Thanks From Dallas. Texas👍🇺🇸
Is the T1 the same aircap as the T110, i cant find any info on the T1, If i change from the T1 to TE20 do i have to change the Fluid cap and neddel also both 1.3mm, Its the GTI pro gun, Great channel, a world of info on it.
Thanks gun man awesome videos I also have a question I’m spraying DC 4000 clear I’m deciding on using either the T-110 or the T-20 what would you recommend thank you
Hi from Greece thanks for your videos. I'd like to ask you something. Which spraygun do you recommend for wood painting? Devilbis GTi PRO or devilbis advance? Thank you.
Completely agree with trying to replicate factory peel! Too many painters go for a glass finish and it just looks wrong against the factory finish. What aircap do you recommend for waterbase basecoat on the pro lite?
Love your Videos man! Just bought my first gun I got a devilbiss pro little 1.3 te20 and I’m spraying Awlcraft 2000 is a two-component, premium polyurethane finish. What cap do you recommend? Thank you
Hey mate. Care to explain your thoughts for the te10 for base coat? I'm only amateur backyarder. But getting great base coat finishes with it on 2 bar through a pro lite. Thinking about a different cap if you think it will be a big difference?
I really appreciate you making these videos, I have learned a lot and it is because of your videos, I am a backyard car enthusiast, I have only painted a few cars but I would have given up if it weren't for your instruction because the first vehicle I did was a disaster heavy orange peal all over, I learned it was because I had too much pressure. I am using a Divilbiss plus with a 1.3 and it gives me a decent job. I only have a issue with runs. not many but even one is a pain. anyway I wanted to say Thanks for the vids.
Great video. I don't like the numbers game as well. It has hit my trade and the work (cable splicing) is not fun anymore. I'm getting ready to try that gun out for the first time soon. I will have to decide what air cap to go with. Thanks for the vid Gunman!
Great video Gunman. thanks for doing this. I have a prolite kit with choice of HV30 and TE20 caps. I will be painting a classic GM musclecar so if I can get it with zero orange peel that would be the goal. I am a slow painter. do you think I should get a T110 cap or stick with the TE20?
+Tom Fioretti T110 would suit a slower painter and glass finishes with less orange peel. I find the TE20 ideal for everyday refinishing, speed, efficiency and replication of OEM finishes.
Im still kind of confused on the air caps. Devilbiss states the TE10 is the wettest coating, TE20 wet coating HV30 least wet coating. What i get out of that is you have to move faster if its going to be a wetter coat with TE10. I would the you would have to move the slowest with an HV30 cap. I got A tekna prolite with 1.2-.1.4 nozzles and all 3 air caps. Im having a rough time trying to dial in waterborne. Trying to keep the air pressure at 20psi ( even though air is not limited ) to minimize overspray and waste materials. Been using the TE10 with 1.2 @ 18psi
Chris What system you use? I used TE10 1.3 with Cromax Pro and found it ideal at 2 bar (29psi). At the end of the day they can all put the paint on wet it's more about atomization.
I love the video Gunman ! I have a crazy Gunman inspired idea here ; DNA black chrome...on my guitar ! Possibly with Mutant Crystals in the mix. Or candy over black chrome ? I may post a vid and share my victory or defeat.
Because of this video I ordered and bout my gti pro lite and a t110 air cap 1.3 mm. I have to say here in Canada we don't have that good of spray gun. So thank you mate it means a lot plus I'm working hard so I can come to Australia. With a vehicle I've built and would like to ask if you don't mind spray painting a panel for me? Reason why the panel would be a piece I can mark off me bucket list and something you have done for me.
I guess it may happen but we'll just see how it goes, I usually don't like to meet people from online and I like to live a quiet life, all I literally do every week is go from work to home (edit videos) and then the shops on Sunday.
The Gunman I agree with you and believe me I live a similar life style quiet just me and my shop odd buddy comes to help me once a while and to be honest it's been a life long goal to make a trip down there
My pro lite is black , and I'm using the same setup with the 1.3 and the TE20 and I have great results. Is there a difference between the black and gold pro lite
G another awesome vid! Thanks for going over details others don't. I've been getting awesome results on my guitar finishes sice watching your vids!!! You've become my go to source for honest no b.s. gun reviews and recommendations! Keep up the awesome work!!!!
Great Video, I been waching you channel and you show some graet versatility, painting in rather different conditions and different budgets but always getting the best of your resources and sharing it all.
Hey gunman probably the best video for me that you have done always wanted to see a cap comparison video shame about the job but hey bigger and better things ahead I hope sadly here in the UK most of the body shops that I have worked at or seen tend to work on a cost basis not quality and would happily send out 2nd rate work and then fix after with a pissed off customer not all shops but does seem to be the bigger ones keep up the good work .
Hi i love your videos . i have a gti pro 1.3 . i spend all my time restoring old vw kombi's and only use 2 pack syraight colours . what would be the best cap to use for a glass finish and would you always leave the fan fully open . thanks again Graham in Ireland
@9:18 😮 lol little tight walking through there. But you must be a pro worming your way through the room when it’s full of panels/parts! Another killer vid Gunny
Which air cap is better for T110 and T20? Although I was worried, it seems that T110 is better in an environment where there is no booth and temperature is low. Spray gun "Apollo" sold only in Japan has a T110 air cap. why? Do you dry well at low temperature and the temperature of the car body is also low? The question was solved. Thank you very much.
good day gunman, been watching ur video. and planning to paint proffessionally in the future. quetions, can u flat sand a metalolic paint, am just using a cheap gun and i always get orange peel, dust, on my paint..
The t110 is the best air cap for the smoothest finish no orange peel?..i am spraying my 67 Camaro with a single stage high solid urethane black...DOES STANDOX STILL SELL A SINGLE STAGE PAINT BY YOU?..I cant find it here in the States..
Gunman, how about the TE10 air cap? Is the TE110 the same one but maybe relabled for Australia? DeVilbiss sells the Prolite in the States with the TE20 and TE10 with 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 tips as a set and I'm really looking at getting one for under $400 US.
I have a question about the devilbiss gti pro lite, could this gun be good for base coat and or intercoat clears. Any info would be a great help. And always excellent videos. Thanks gunman.
love the quality ethic. do not loose that trait in yourself. not a whole lot of people have it anymore.
Hands down The Gunman is the best sprayer on TH-cam. Gunman another great video question what size fittings and air hose do you use? Good luck on your move back to Perth
Always appreciate your clarity of explanation, working towards being a better, maybe even GOOD sprayer! Cheers!

Thank you, I was wondering about the difference between the two before I buy this gun.
As the gunman said, it is the end result that matters.
great video man! awesome tech tips. Just bought my first tekna prolite, and from watching you videos I can't wait to test mine out.
I use the pro lite with the TE20 air cap and may be it’s the clear I’m using but if I moved that quickly I would hardly get any clear on the panel.
Muy interesante, entonces cual recomendarías para barnizar T110 o TE20 gracias un saludo.
Between the T110, TE20, and HV30, what cap do you prefer for spraying base coat?
Man that is a mad coat of clear your smashing it on lol love the videos mate and it's obvious you have a passion for the trade you can tell in your work and your voice thanks for being genuine dude clear to see why you have the followers
ty for wxplainning the caps gunny hope all is going well
Gunman, What is the best air pressure on the Tekna pro lite with 1.3 tip and what air cap in 65 degree weather.
Great info as always Gunman,do you mind me asking what diameter airline do you use to supply your spray guns ?
That's the right way to work I work the same way back in Barbados.
A LOT!!
great video.....watching your videos inspired me to come out of retirement to lay down a mean coat of clear...........keep up the good work gunman.
Your a cracking sprayer mate. Stunning workmanship
a question mr paint man can u do a video on the benefits and application of waterbase paints and the difference of low solid clears compared to high solids. i know alot about clears and paint but theres always sumthin to learn thanx rob😋
When I was using Cromax pro I found the TE10 was best for me
could you do video on how to set up a gun if you have time thanks nice work and paint
Love your
Videos man!
Thinking about a different cap if you think it will be a big difference?
great video , good to see a comparison of the different air caps
I have a GTi Pro Lite with a 1.3 TE110. Love it.
Love your translation of the Art as well. I own a Yacht refinishing company.
Great video. I don't like the numbers game as well. It has hit my trade and the work (cable splicing) is not fun anymore. I'm getting ready to try that gun out for the first time soon. I will have to decide what air cap to go with. Thanks for the vid Gunman!
Hi gunman, is the T1 air cap HVLP or LVLP and what is it used for ... Many Thanks great video as usual 👍
Great video can i get the link where u buy this guns, im gone buy one of this ones, is this brands ones of ur favorite brands to spray with
Great video Gunman. thanks for doing this.
What do you think the best gun for nason brand paint? Enamel single stage. I work in a production shop and paint 40+ cars a week. Thanks for your time
I love the video Gunman !
Hi i love your videos . i have a gti pro 1.3 . i spend all my time restoring old vw kombi's and only use 2 pack syraight colours . what would be the best cap to use for a glass finish and would you always leave the fan fully open . thanks again
Graham in Ireland
Badass👌🏽
To the guy who said you sprayed too fast, we spray clear at work just as fast all day lol. All about the finish 😏
I love the t110 air cap, it does use more material (& my gun is a 1.4) but that doesn't bother me.
Basically you mean that the TE20 as a cap is suitable for the base, while the T110 is suitable for the clear, right?
I have a question about the devilbiss gti pro lite, could this gun be good for base coat and or intercoat clears. Any info would be a great help. And always excellent videos. Thanks gunman.
