They didn't have that C2 cap when this video was done when the gun first came out, Quicker than the C1. Probably in Prolie language the caps are like the TE10 and TE20 respectively. The DV1 basecoat gun is the real pleasure with silvers and blends.
I really enjoyed this content , my friend just picked one of these up but I was hesitant on buying it, ended up picking up a sata 5000rp for a steal. Thank you
FYI sata's nozzle is not the same as others, a sata 1.3 is not the same as a devilbiss or Iwata 1.3, its more like a 1.4. I use a 1.2 on most of my sata guns because the clear come out too thick
How about the overspray on the camera lens lol. You had the booth pulling a hard draft. I love the fan speed adjustment on my booth since I added a VFD to it. What is your favorite go to clear when spraying show quality all over custom jobs that you want a real deep look? Thanks and awesome review Great Job!!
I actually like the look the Prolite left on your bumper cover! Now curious...Im also in North America, i thought we had Tekna Prolites here and the rest of the world gotvthe Devilbiss GTI Prolites? Also noticed you have the air cheater valve on the bottom of the gun, much like most the European models Ive seen. I have a Tekna Prolite so it doesnt have that valve. For a collision shop, and matching most OEM finishes, which gun you reccomend for clear? I've been using my Tekna for clear and base as hobby work, but am starting a new job soon and want a dedicated clear gun. Im happy with the way the Tekna lays down base. Thanks
I have my dv1 with a c2 cap 1.3 tip and still trying to dial in the air pressure. I used to spray at 30 psi for clear with my other guns but with this one im between 25-28psi still getting used to it
I do use the dv1 clear and base i have a bit to many of them 4 base guns all in 1.2 and 2 clears one in 1.3 and one in 1.2 my boss gets a good price on devilbiss equipment, i also have 2 old gti pro's for 2k direct gloss and sealer/ wet on wet i find the dv1 uses less clear and base then the pro's , but we use alot of low bake hs clears so they need to be put on skinny or they run off the panel so i like the controlability of the dv1
Excellent review by a real painter-love your style. Did/do you own a 5000rp? Just wondering what your take on the 5500 vs 5000 was. I have the 5000 rp in 1.2 and sagola 4600 1.3 both loved for uhs clear summer painting-WS400 HD1.3 for winter. My prolite and copper only see base. I did just pick up a Tekna clearcoat gun. The TE25 works better for UHS clear than the prolites but not even close to the big boys at all-my opinion on devilbiss in a nutshell-good not great. Thanks again for the real unbiased review.
I love the video but was curious if you changed the tip sizes out all of my DV1s came with a 1.2 in them but also came with a 1.3 & 1.4 in the box so if it where slower could you maybe do a review with a bigger tip and see how it would compare to itself ?
Great review and man you may it down nice! 2 questions.. do u have a preference between the Devilbiss Sri Pro Lite, Iwata lph-80 and sata 4400b Minijet? Also can you tell me what you like about the 3m series 2 cups? Thx man
Hi I am Taiwanese,I would like to ask, which spray gun do you think is more suitable for spraying clear coat , Sata jet x 5500 or iwata ws400 evo or devilbiss DV1
Hi, did you add reducer to the UHS clear. My WS400 is my go to clear gun and what an awesome design. No other gun out there touches it. Sexy or what!!!
@@Raider_Robert My WS400 was temperamental to start of with, I tweeked the fan and dialed it in. She is no slouch and will lay clear as flat as glass. Would never part with her.
Looks like you're spraying at a pretty low pressure. Did you compare the built in pressure gauge with the externally mounted one? Do they agree? The Pro Lite finish looks better to me.
Ok I’m new to Universal clear I just switched from Iwata 400 1.3 to a DV1 I’m having a hard time getting clear to lay out what tip size do you recommend? I’ve tried 1.2 and 1.3 and can’t get the glass look I’m used to with my old iwata
Did you get this figured out? I just picked up the DV1 and heard from several people that the pressures I'm familiar with don't apply to the DV1 since the gage is reading pressure in a different location.
@@81mont kind of got it, I’ve been running it at 20psi with the 1.2 I run the fluid in 1.5 turns staying 8 to 10 from the panel using a 50-50 overlap with the C2 cap. Now if I mix my slow and fast Hardener 50/50 I give it a 1/8 turn out for a bit more fluid and give almost no flash time between coats. Bake for 15 minutes and done. Now keep in mind I’m in Louisiana so it’s 95-105 at 80+% humidity right now so these settings might not work as well for you. That said you should be able to get pretty close to glass from there.
Try this gun without pps! Without pps will go much faster, dv1 with pps os not working to 100% is go like 70% from his performance! Try and you will see the difference, the same with iwata,.with his cup dv1 and iwata ws400 1.3 series 1 and 2 work better with the cup. but with SATA is go perfectly with pps and rps.
@@jandrew93 YOU HAVE NO RESPECT to the others .. Thanks Complete Concepts for all your effort, for me it is a video with excellent information .. I have Gti-Tekna pro lite T110 air cap and use MS clear if you can test it some day would be interesting!
Wow the roof on that truck came out awesome. I own both pro lite and just got the dv1. Both awesome guns.
This guy is a highly skilled painter. I like your chill style of video as well, very calming lol
That blue truck looked amazing!
I like the c2 cap on the DV1 its a nice clear gun alittle slow but lays the clear out like glass

One of the best spray gun reviews I have ever seen on TH-cam you need to more very professional.

The fluid nozzle also has a lot to do with fluid delivery. Not just tip size and air cap.

I really like your videos as well as your voice. well communicative.
Great painter here, best bang for the buck pro lite
Wow, I have not seen one of those Surround Air booths in a long time.
I was so close to giving this video 100 thumbs up...but it was missing the specifics on the gun's psi's.😭
The gun looks great but lm gonna stick with my prolite it's almost like it does the work for you
Shame it’s tested in Lesonal
The blue truck right rear panel at the centre didn't buff proper you should check that out

Change the air cap to c2 the gun speed up really good

Nice vid man, share what its camera u use?
I bought that gun and 3 days later sold it.. That thing is a turtle doesn't work in my production shop collision painting.
What about the walcom carbonio 360 hte you forgot about to menthion it
It's on the someday list - I have to to save up some money to buy more paint guns first!
A professional finish. how much does it cost to use to. Pot clier and what number is it. And what number do you use to paint
Wai pestouli
Very good review. Do you find that you have to replace the baffle on the pro lite?
Does the new devilbiss DV1 have a baffle like the pro lite?
Had Prolites for years and never changed a baffle or seal on them...
Great job!!
i do spray alot of heavy equipment with a devilbliss finish line flg4 is there better guns to use can seem to find much info on industerail paint guns
Great review thanks for the share.
Have you ever used a Devilbiss advance HD 1.3 H1, or heard anything good about them
make more videos like this, it was awesome
wow awesome review top quality 10/10
Where can I purchase one of those multi-gun magnetic gun holders
I heard sata & DV1 has over sized tips then the actual number to make you think it flows better. Have you ever used a DeVilbiss GPI?
They may, although I haven't checked that myself. I haven't used a GPI, but it looks like a great value!
Its not the gun that makes a good painter.I've used all brands of Paintguns.its all about application methods.Good job man keep up the good work..
thanks for the video i learned a lot
Dv1 or sagola xl for clear for Flattest finish?
The sata 5500 to me was harder to dial in and keep dialed in.is that just me or has any one else noticed that.
Can you please tell us what the gun setups for all of your guns where?
I've edited the description with some more information. Hopefully this helps! Thanks!
Looks like you're spraying at a pretty low pressure. Did you compare the built in pressure gauge with the externally mounted one? Do they agree? The Pro Lite finish looks better to me.
Hi, great video for sure. How would you rate it against ws400 on laying it flat? Thanks.
WS400 is a much faster gun! Honestly, I like the results of the WS400 better.
you have an odd spraying technique but the results look good.
so if all the guns you talked about cost the same, what one would you chose?
I’d choose the GTI Pro Lite with the TE20 air cap as I spray a lot of mid solids clears (production work) and the GTI works better for that!
Complete Concepts is the pro air a mid solids clear? Thanks
DV1 is better than SATA 5500???
Personally I like the 5500 better for high solids clear, and the pro lite with the TE20 air cap for mid solids clears!
Where can I get those magnetic gun Holders
Like them spray gun holders
Thanks, that was a weekend project that I built after I couldn't find what I wanted for sale!

Just got the dv1 clear gun and was wondering could u spray base coat with this gun?
Yes,,,look at Marios Paint class and the Gunman in Australia.
I never saw somebody painting a hood or trunk in the way you were going! It just doesn't looks right to my understanding of painting
Dont it still looks the same when was done idot
Am I crazy, or did you change the name of the channel?
Try this gun without pps! Without pps will go much faster, dv1 with pps os not working to 100% is go like 70% from his performance! Who hates the song they play on the 3m paint gun ad as much as me?

Hello, you write fluid full out
How much turn out is?
And how much turn out fan?
so DV1 or Sata 550? if price was the same?
John King Sata
nice video
Neat I'm not going to buy one then...nice video
What worries me is that lesonal bank!!!!
What caps? What tip sizes? What psi? How many turns on the fluid?
