That thing's SWEET. I've always had a fascination with the 6200, I guess maybe because it was a literally one of a kind locomotive. It was an interesting idea, but I guess just not very practical for the time considering diesels were taking more and more of a foothold in the railroading world.

I sure hope Broadway Limited comes out with an N scale version, this is one cool locomotive! (They are coming out with a T-1 4-4-4-4 which IMO is just as cool in a different way)!

Nice video james but I have a big questions since your close friends with scale train can you see if they can release a DLMX 4219 Auxiliary water tender in ho scale with the 4 piant schemes Aft, Bnsf, lets roll and of course the SP 4449 daylight schemes. I feel as though it could add a realistic feel to all sp 4449 fans

I was looking at buying a Paragon 3 Southern 2-8-2 on ebay, but I started doing some research differences between Paragon 3 and 4 and started seeing all the comments on the forums about how bad the Paragon 3 locos are... so not sure I'm going to pull that trigger now or not. Also sounds like they took the prime mover sounds for an EMD model and tweaked them for the turbine sounds.

I need some assistance. I’m getting a new DCC system and I’m wondering what is a good DCC system that I can use BLI steam engines and the whistle quills but also compatible with Bachman EZ track. I don’t have anything fancy because I move around a lot. I’d be fine with some minor wiring if I could take the wire that plugs into EZ track and strip the jack off at the end that would normally plug into a Bachman controller and instead plug the end of those wires into a new DCC system. I’m just looking for a good DCC system that lets me utilize all functions on locomotives.

AverageAlabamaRailfan if looking for simple and not super expensive I would say a digitrax zephyr. I use their 8 amp evolution with duplex radio on my home layout because I can't always be at one point and see every thing. But the features are great. On 5 amp setting I have no problem running 9 ho scale locos with sounds.

Good review! great loco. very particular. about the crew figures not installed BLI still advertise the product (like the Challengers) as having them installed. I think they should honor the advertisement and supply the figures somehow. what do you think? Cheers!

You know the review shows how slow it runs in the beginning, why not this ,especially steam locomotives, at road speed pulling some.
Two slow speed shots are really redundant .

Well it sure looks like a nice locomotive, but come on Broadway Limited Imports, no crew figures in the cab? That's not right in this day and age for all models of locomotives. I'm sure this must've been a tricky locomotive to record the sounds for since the real Pennsylvania Railroad Steam Turbine was scrapped and I never saw a video of it in action with sound. Maybe they had to record the engine sounds off of a battleship or power plant. However, despite getting the engine sounds as close as possible to what it might have sounded like, I'm disappointed that Broadway Limited Imports got the whistle and bell sound wrong. Pennsy passenger steamers and later versions of their freight steamers had low-pitch three-chime whistles and this whistle doesn't sound like that. The bell should also be at a faster cadence and also lower-pitched since Pennsy steamers in most of the 20th Century had stationary bells, not swinging bells. And of course, the air compressor sounds are wrong like on most Broadway Limited Imports steam locomotives, it's the same sound that was used on MTH's Protosound 1.0 locomotives and that was wrong to begin with. The air compressor sounds also have way too much echo to them, even without the Paragon 3 Rolling Thunder enabled. Broadway Limited Imports, you're not fooling anyone with those air compressor sounds on your steam locomotives.

TomedysTrains I'd went threw three of them because of bad stuttering bad smoke units no engineer and firemen figures in them.back of the cab apron broke off too. The outside lower fire box supposed to be painted the dark siliver like the front nose is,it's painted black.. ps found out the challengers don't have engineer and firemen figures in them neither... quality control stinks...600+ train that has problems..not cool bli. You need to go back and have the Korean s make your trains again and not the Chinese...also Chinese are know to re use used circuit board and chip components in new stuff.....

All that steam and turbine whine while stopped is confusing. Since the turbine is directly geared to the drivers, either turbine (one forward, one reverse, fitted on opposite sides of the loco) would not be rotating. There would be no steam out the stacks, since the valves to the turbine would be shut off when stopped.

Don't let this unique and elegant locomotive distract you from the the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon.

"Industry Best in Pull Tests" ... It has traction tyres so is artificially high. It would likely still be the best, but traction tyres are a cheat for a well made Model. I prefer my model trains NOT to be model trucks
