Hello James; go to the 99 cent store or walmart and get some of the wood skewer sticks for pointers rather than your finger , you can show more points of interest and it looks more professional, Thanks Steven Notz

The UP was the only railroad with dedicated passenger mountains in their own different livery. Also, the mountains were designed as freight locos, with large boilers and cylinders and relatively small drivers

Actually, Mountains were built originally for passenger service. ALCO developed them for the C&O due to the Pacifics struggling with heavier passenger trains, and because the new engines were initially used for pulling heavy passenger trains in the Alleghenies, that's probably why they were called "Mountains." What happened was that they became dual service engines in many cases due to their speed and pulling power, leading to them being built as they were over the years.

The MT-73 is a beautiful loco. I have a couple in the black version. The whistle, however, should be changed. Union Pacific had hancock whistles and this can be changed using the CV's.

Union Pacific used the Star Brass 5 chime whistles on the 4-8-2s
In fact the Hancock 3 chime only came around with the light challenger and the FEF-1

Does the subwoofer have a volume control? It sounds like it actually needs turned down a bit. Especially on the whistle. Are there CVs for that possibly? Thanks.

Good sound, but in my opinion the horn is too weak.

I have a BLI Hudson in HO scale. IN DC there is a volume control on the top of the tender. In DCC the volume is remotely controlled. Does this N scale unit work the same way?

One minor complaint is that you edited the vid too soon while checking the coupler height on the front of the loco. Was it too low or what? Otherwise a great review video as usual! 👍👍👍👍👍

Ive gone through four models of this loco...each time there has been something wrong with it. Ive also noticed that this loco will stall constantly on different parts of my layout. Five other locos run fine. Thoughts on why this would be?

ATHERN TRAINS DOESN'T DO ANYTHING NEW AND IMPROVED AMTRAK P42 LOCOMOTIVES OR ANY AMFLEET CARS , THAT SUCKS, we have money and we want to be able to SPEND our hard earned dollars with someone who will do some improvements for us ! Hopefully the next time you talk to any of those guys will you remember we who MODEL Amtrak ....

Union Pacific isn't exactly known for good-looking locomotives, but this one is beautiful. I LOVE the colors and how the wheels and the shape of it look. It's gorgeous.

      Alex Crawford
When introduced in 1922-23 they were known as 'Sports Models'. The were one of the first 8 coupled engines to be designed to go 100 mph. Interestingly BlI made mistake on their backhead detail, the engine is oil fired but backhead shows a stoker equiped engine. It is a great looking engine worth the money.

  • @mattjackson3712

By far the worst locomotive I’ve ever owned. I’ve had nothing but problems with the motor. Has anyone ever had issues with the motor cutting out and jamming up???

    • @scooby6922
      @scooby6922 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I agree, I had to send mine back for repair. I just got it back today with the same issues and extra damage as a bonus. (broken detail parts). I put it on the tracks and the gearing and motor locked up just like it did before I sent it in for repairs with extra smoke and a burning smell this time (LOL).
This is the third BLI Engine I've purchased with issues of some type. Not sure what to think of Broadway Limited products anymore?

Not gonna lie, I took a chance and bought one of their new releases for the pacifics and i love it. I also own three NS ES44AC's. I think overall, they're a great company. From what I've found, the mountain just a shitty model!

They ARE PITIFUL BECAUSE THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING FOR US THAT MODEL AMTRAK !!!!
