    ✅ About jlwii2000:
    When I started my channel I did not choose a catchy name because I did not think that I would be a major model railroading video source one day, so I apologize for the strange name. My channel has a variety of info about Model Railroading in many scales, primarily HO scale. I try to respond to everyone's questions to help them along with their journey. Overall, I hope my relaxed yet descriptive approach to modeling will assist those new and old in this great hobby. - James

    When I was a kid I would watch all the O gauge layout videos and saw this engine. I was amazed by it. And now that I have decided to get out of O gauge I can finally get my dream engines and this is one of the top engines on that list.

    James, why didn't you get the Tuscan Red fantasy scheme???? Hopefully you'll get that one soon and hopefully we get the Stealth series Dcc ready version if you didn't know Bli is releasing a DCC ready line more details to come next Friday.

    I gotta tell ya James, for as much grief as I've given about the BLI diesels electronically and mechanical wise, their steam locomotives are darn near perfection, great looking and sounding model!

    I did think that this might sound more like a jet aircraft as opposed to sounding somewhat (somewhat) like a diesel in sound. I suppose only people that witnessed the rare beast in operation back then can inform us of how it actually sounded.

    Wow what a unit. I really need to read up on how this was geared from the turbine to the drivers, it's downright awesome!

    What a great rerelease of this engine from Broadway Limited what I like about this version is that the alternate whistle sounds more realistic to the model. It sounds exactly like a PRR 3 chime whistle.

    The feature at 3:28 is the reverse turbine. This was engaged to drive the engine in reverse. The main (forward) turbine is on the right side. At 6:03, yes those are water hatches. The sheathing on the tender was on an apparatus to swing it out of the way to fill the tender with water, if it wasn't scooping on the fly.

    Had to pull my smoke units out of my 2017 because it leaks inside which the smoke residue lays on the engine board and shorts out the decoder...I went threw. Three S2 replacement...third one I'd pulled the smoke units out ..

    6200 was equipped with an air horn sometime in 1945. PRR cancelled what would have been S2a’s, a “production” variant late in 1944/early 1945. Reportedly a lower speed class (S3)more suitable for freight service was proposed by Westinghouse but PRR wasn’t interested. E7’s which were much more efficient and F3’s in many variants were coming as fast as EM could build them, which was painfully slow. The other builders, were even slower in delivering new power.

    • @BenjaminJTemple4019
      @BenjaminJTemple4019 ปีที่แล้ว

      @cmdrflake , You forgot about the proposed transmission/ gear change that would eliminate one of the turbine engines. This is because they could go forward or backward with the new transmission/ gear change allowing them to eliminate the small turbine for backing up.

    • @cmdrflake
      @cmdrflake ปีที่แล้ว

      The gear change they had in mind was going to eliminate the smaller reverse gear in favor of a pair of smaller, more efficient turbines. This arrangement actually saw service on Westinghouse’s “Blue Goose” multi fuel turbine in 1950. PRR let it run on freights, but they were unable to justify the added expense for turbines.

    • @BenjaminJTemple4019
      @BenjaminJTemple4019 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cmdrflake , I am guessing you didn't read or understand my comment. I said with the new transmission/ gear, it would eliminate the small turbine for backing up or for the reverse direction.

    👍👍Great review, thanks! Beautiful steam locomotive, nice details, the Paragon sound is amazing! I see so many comments that the Paragon 4 sucks? I just don't get it...Have3 Broadway limited Engines, love the sound on all 3! I model modern diesel era, I do love a nice steam loco. I'd like to add 1 steam loco at some point in time. The smoke is great, don't know how you couldn't? Pretty much makes a Steam Locomotive at least for me it does. Alright I've rambled on long enough. I do enjoy your reviews and videos, appreciate the time as well as the quality you put in. Keep it up!🚂🚂

    Good afternoon from CATALONIA (Spain); I am an unconditional follower of your videos, but I have a serious problem and that is that I do not know or understand the language. My question is: Would it be possible for a colleague of yours to make the same video but in Spanish? So I and many thousands of your followers, who are in the same situation as me, could enjoy your explanations about the models you present. I was able to make this message, thanks to the GOOGLE translator. Grateful for reading me, he receives a hug from MIQUEL NOGUERA.

    I hate that the front marker lights are NOT illuminated and the rear marker lights work on the tender. I don't understand why they go so far and then fall short on having lit marker lights on the engine. They did the same on the Blue Goose. Not paying that much money because the marker lights don't work. The 4-8-0 Consolidation even has lit marker lights.

    • @ecpcharles
      @ecpcharles ปีที่แล้ว

      imagine basing your entire decision on whether or not to buy an engine on whether theres some small working lights on just one part of the loco. whatever, just means more S2 models for the rest of us!

    As good as this loco runs , Which I have the first run with the large smoke ears ,,
    BLI hit it out of the ball park with the Re-release of the PRR I1sa 2-10-0 (( HIPPO'S ))
    Which DIGITRAX voltage settings out of the box are
    SETTINGS
    CV 000 = 000 STARTING VOLTS
    CV 006 = 130 MID VOLTS
    CV 005 = 255 MAX VOLTS
    I set my DIGITRAX voltage down
    SETTINGS
    CV 000 = 000 STARTING VOLTS
    CV 006 = 030 MID VOLTS
    CV 005 = 060 MAX VOLTS
    Those 2-10-0 now max out at 40 mph at speed step 99
    You should see them move at speed step ,, say 15 ...
    I set all my loco that way ..
    A BACHMANN HEISLER is set at
    CV 000 = 000
    CV 006 = 005
    CV 005 = 010
    At speed step 15 --- it 4 hrs to travel 20 feet of track !!!!!!!!!
    It is recommended by DIGITRAX to set your voltage levels down to a level of the MAX SPEED of a train on your layout ....
    So , say the fastest a train would travel is 40 mph , that would be speed step 99 on your throttle ....
    MTH is the only loco's this adjustments don't work on
