Wow! Thought I'd seen it all with alternative buildings but this really tops the list. Great point I saw someone mention about the wind too. Hopefully she does something really awesome with that vent up top, it's such an amazing view to open up to.

I know from living in a mobile home on the prairie of central Illinois, that WIND eventually takes it's toll on most structures, not just here but in much of the U.S.. Grain bins are designed to sustain this. Very clever usage by these folks.

where is this? what is the heating and cooling like?
What's been bothering me about these 'bin' homes is that almost everyone who builds one tries to turn it back into a traditional stick built home. And, for people who don't know the grain itself and concrete pad adds a great deal of strength to these structures so you have to compensate.
I'd like to build one but my self esteem is so smacked down and I can't own a single idea of my own anymore.
