    Excellent workout! I’m a retired exercise instructor who has been taking retired a little too literally. Have just been diagnosed w/hbp and so happy to find your channel. I prefer to lower my BP with exercise and proper nutrition as opposed to using big pharma.

    Thanks for this! I was not motivated today to do the blood pressure work out (those spotty dogs and jumping jacks haha) but this was just great for those in between days and a good motivator.

      Great. I have lots of other routines of various lengths, most of which will help lower blood pressure. Check it out here: th-cam.com/play/PLf9i8qFtMBBK1VBEA-IlSw7VrXxrvxHUF.html

    I wanted to ask if when performing the bent over row (and the seated row) should the elbows stay tucked In similar to a bicep curl or tricep kickback or can the elbows trail out to the side away from the body? Thats one one exercise i cant fully tell the position when you’re doing it. If this is explained somewhere in the context already I apologize. Thanks a lot.

    • @ExerciseForHealth
      @ExerciseForHealth  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Think of it as the opposite as a push up, where your elbows are about 30 degrees out from the torso. You can have the elbows tucked right in, but allowing them in a more natural position will recruit more of the muscles in the upper back rather than placing more emphasis on the biceps. I've got plans to do a new series later in the year where I focus on 1 exercise (movement) and break down the technique and variations for performing it correctly. The row will be one of them!

    I am 68 years old and have COPD apparently a 33% lung capacity, I am doing 90 - 120 minutes exercise a day, this alternates weekly from 4 x 7 mile walks a week at 3.5mph + and 3 x 35. Min workouts at an studio I 35 gym, electronic resistance I incorporate 4 x 45 seconds of extreme cardio into this, then on gym day I do a 4 mile walk at 3.5mph + I have recently incorporated jogging into the 7 mile walks my tolerance is 45seconds with 2m 30s recovery then repeat, which I managed for 6 miles on Sunday. I have been that busy concentrating on my breathing, I never thought about the muscles not being ready, the quads have been a bit sore. I alternate between 4 gym days a week and 3 x 7 mile walks to 3 x gym days and 4 x 7 mile walks.
    I am struggling to find specific advice on exercising or is what I am doing sufficient? Thanks

    It will be good if you can do some tougher workout videos too. Also for instance, battle ropes?

    • @ExerciseForHealth
      @ExerciseForHealth  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have some harder workouts on the channel such as the core bag one which was really tough and pushed me to my limits. However, I want to ensure that the workouts I offer are suited for the audience, so I don't want turn this into a fitness channel as such. I've had more comments asking for lower intensity routines to help those people with more severe health conditions so I will try to maintain that balance. As 65% of the subscribers prefer to workout from home, I doubt many will have access to battle ropes and I don't either, making it difficult to film 🫤

      @@ExerciseForHealth I found your sandbag workout. I had no idea such a thing existed! I thought of going to Home Depot and picking up "tube sand" that they sell but now see it must have handles. :)

    Richard, I have had HBP for over 25 years. No on explained to me how EXERCISE helps to reduce the pressure until, you explained about blood shunting and arteries dilate..doctors do tell you to exercise but if it is explained well, people might take action.
    I was terrified to see how high my pressure went. After a few sessions, I returned to the clinic and pressure down to 140/60.
    Thank you, please continue to help us.
    GBU too

      Take a look at the playlist section as you may find all the videos you want in one place rather than searching the whole list. Most of the workout videos will be suitable for most health conditions unless stated in the description or introduction of the video. Find a few that you feel work for you/ that you enjoy!
