No, it's plenty *plenty* of companies that think that exact way.
Consistency comes to mind.
Honestly, for the sake of it is a pretty piss-poor reasoning. Where I will agree that "supposed to be a hero" is equally as bad in its own right, a character should never change their morality for the sake of it. How it should be worded is, "That is completely out of character," which is completely justifiable. Since you're being general, I'm going to be general as well.
Not every character can be Batman where they start out campy and evolve into dark and brooding. I've seen MANY creepy pastas that use the cliche of making beloved characters evil, and only a small portion even remotely work. I can see Mickey being a jerk, sure, but evil? That's not even the same character anymore. Mickey can be a jerk, but the only time he can be even remotely evil is if he is unintentionally evil, being kind to the wrong people or using his optimism for a cause that is unjust. Even if someone is too kind and caring to the point that it's annoying, it doesn't mean changing their character is going to make things better.
Heroes can be dark, heroes can be immoral, but not every hero is going to be written that way. You can definitely make their morality work against them to the point where they are considered evil to someone else, but changing their character to do it is just lazy. Always make sure there is a reason for them to go against their nature outside of "the sake of it." Sonic just murdering his friends and random people? That just feels forced and random like hyper realistic blood. Luigi becoming vengeful and angry? It would make sense due to his character being in an emotional circumstance where he could explode at any moment. Mickey Mouse I don't feel can pull off evil well. I could be wrong and a writer can delve into an evil psyche that's been hidden in plain sight, but even with a character like Winnie the Pooh... what would be the point in doing so? It doesn't add anything other than shock or cool value at that point.
Sorry, it's just that we're reaching an age where darkifying is a new cliche that I'm starting to hate just as much as that Mr. Perfect protagonist that's supposed to represent "everyone." I love dark stories, but not all stories should be dark stories, just like not every movie needs a god damned romantic plotline. Sorry, rant over, and I apologize you're the victim of this specific rant.
You misunderstand, characters are flawed.
Yet some companies/people act if their characters are incapable of being flawed.
That is all.
Correction: Steam Boat Willie was not the first Mickey cartoon. The first Mickey cartoon was Plane Crazy, however Steam Boat Willie was the first Mickey cartoon to feature sound, and was the cartoon that brought attention to the character.
They didn't release Plane Crazy until after Steamboat Willie, though, because they didn't want just one cartoon for the character to be the only silent one. So Steamboat Willie was the first one released and that is what counts, officially.

Haze X2, although those were pretty good games they technically don't count as Disney games. Pixar was its own studio at the time. Disney just published and got most of the profit.
After watching this I wanted to give Alan Young a sincere thank you for the awesome memories and nostalgia for reprising his role. Unfortunately he passed away only last month. Fair play Alan, you lived to a good age.

Turner's Gauge That's right. Disney Animation has given us Wreck-It Ralph, Big Hero 6 and Zootopia for non-musicals after Tangled. Luckily, the next Disney Animation movie after Moana will be another musical called Gigantic.

Anybody wondering as too why Robbie Williams did not want Genie and Himself used in Advertisments came down to multiple reasons. One of the main reasons followed that Robbie Williams did not want to be fully affiliated with Disney, as this would make it difficult for him to catch roles in more adult films. This is an issue that a lot of actors suffer after working with Disney.

They should put all of the Disney and Pixar games together into a huge collection and stick it on PC , PS4, PS5 (as a launch title for when it comes out), Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Imagine how cool it would be to fight Scar on the go in HD on the Switch version! Or screaming down your mic at strangers online in a remade version of Mickey's Speedway USA.

Ducktales remastered was a total love note to the fans of Ducktales. All the old actors who reprise their roles were an absolute delight especially Alan Young!

Darkwing Duck had 2 games. One is an NES game I have never played but I hear goes up there with Duck Tales and Chip and Dales Rescue Rangers. The other is a Turbogrphics game I have never play but seen youtube reviews on that goes in the absolute license garbage bin.

I'm gonna be "that guy" and correct something mentioned in the video. "Steamboat Willie" wasn't the first Mickey Mouse cartoon. The first Mickey Mouse cartoon was "Plane Crazy" which had its first appearance May 15, 1928.
However, "Steamboat Willie" was what made Mickey become popular and was Mickey's first sound cartoon

Another fact: A Rodger Rabbit and several Mickey Mouse games were turned into a Bugs Bunny games? Back in the late 80's and early 90's, the small game developer named Kemeco gained the license to produce games based on various Disney characters. So, they made Rodger Rabbit's Crazy Castle and Mickey Mouse's Crazy Castle 1-5. However, their license ONLY applied to Japan. In the US, the Disney license was held by other companies. So, Kemeco went to Warner Brothers and bought the license to Bug's Bunny instead.
They took their Disney themed castle games and just swapped out the sprites to Looney Toon characters instead, creating Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle.

Holy shit, i remember that. It came free with two other games. I think they where a game based on Dinosaur and a theme park tycoon type game.
Unofficial Disney Game fact: The Lion King game also got a port to the NES, yet it only came out in Europe
Aladdin also got a port, and both were very badly made ports of the Gameboy versions.
Rather than redraw the graphics, the developers wrote code that converted the Gameboy graphics into NES graphics.
The game is also very incomplete, and it ends half way through.
Ironically enough bootleg ports of the Aladdin and Lion King game by companies Super Game who made Lion King and Super Aladdin, which was a port of the Genesis version, and Hummer Team who ported over the Capcom SNES version of Aladdin to the NES, were much superior compared to their official ports.

With the exception of the Genesis version of Aladdin, all the best Disney games were made by Capcom. Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, even The Little Mermaid. All great.

in fact i've seen it once a long time ago on tv . so when i see that there was people that knew this movie existed (well kind of existed) i was really impresed! if i had a camera that time i saw the trailer ,i would show it today . but at last i was just like 6 or 7 years old and i didnt have a phone or camera to sit down and record the tv.

So instead, what we got in Epic Mickey was Mickey messing with his enemy's free will using paint to force them to kill their former allies, destroying houses for the sake of puzzles, and I feel like I remember a point in the game where you could drop a safe on a townsperson if you didn't want to bother getting it down safely. But you know, as long as he doesn't look ugly/scary, it's not actually evil :P
