    Thanks for doing us proud in the car community with your Cl7R review.. not enough emphasis is given to this underdog of the K20A class worldwide, and its high time more people sang some praises of it.

    Correction to this video:
    1. Euro R did not share the same engine as the DC5, EP3 or FD2. It has a K20a engine variant especially tuned for the heavy and refinement of the Accord Euro R. But the engine isn't the same as the DC5 or EP3. Yes, DC5 has the same K20a engine code but they are not exactly the same.
    CL7 Euro R K20a has balancing shaft like the K24a engine. Intake manifold is RBC instead of RRC FD2 or PRC found in DC5R.
    Valvetrains are single springs configuration for both intake and exhaust.
    The head port is slightly narrower than DC5 much like the K24a head than the K20a found on Dc5R or EP3R. The flywheel is also heavier and not Chromoly like those of the type R.
    2. Gearbox : 6 Speed with LSD but longer gear ratio from 4-6 comparing to DC5R. The CL7 Euro R has the same gear ratios as RSX type S but with LSD.
    The Gearbox case mounting also different than DC5R or to any other type Rs.

    • @ArtTunerz
      @ArtTunerz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for this info. Let me dig deeper into your info to see. Regarding the intake manifold, yes I am aware of the RBC and the gearing 4-6 changes. But regarding the balancing shaft, that is something I was not really aware of.

    • @maxxibro
      @maxxibro 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ArtTunerz The balancing shaft is a known fact. The K20a in the Euro R has many different parts in it than the other type R like oil pan, EPS, throttle body, flywheel, and oil pump. Due to balancing shaft, the oil pump is uniquely designed for the CL7R. The K20a engine in the Euro R is almost the same as K20Z4. Both Engines have balancing shaft.
      I have my CL7 Euro R for more than 7 years now 😂

      @@ArtTunerz You are not wrong, it is the same engine, the earlier commenter is not wrong too, it is just how that the same engine have slight differences for each car model and enhancements as the newer FD2R receive this engine. The only 4 cars to officially receive the JDM K20A; EP3R in 2001, DC5R slightly later in 2001, CL7R in 2002, FD2R, it is the same engine with slight differences each model. The FD2R has the most aggressive track ready version. It also depends on which parts you consider it as a part of the engine, coz if you include intake manifold, why not include throttle and exhaust manifold too? They will be different because its setup for different cars, DBW vs DBC throttle, a heavier cruiser like an accord, vs a lighter weight body like a civic.

    I’m trying to get a daily first car CL7 and debating if I should get a 145k km vs 100k km mileage car in which the 100k km mileage car cost $30k HKD more . Not sure if I should stick to the high mileage one as it will depreciate less anyways and not worth it for the added money for 45k km more mileage. What do you think? The 100k of course looks better with some mugen parts and 145k has a Js racing exhaust - pls help !

    • @ArtTunerz
      @ArtTunerz  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      30K HKD is like only SGD 5000.... It seems like a good deal. You will need to also check the complete condition of the car, not just the mileage. I.e has it been any accident before, what is the engine's condition. I think the Js racing exhaust for CL7 is still available to purchase. It is just that we cannot register them here in Singapore anymore; hence, it is difficult. But if there are no such restrictions in HK, the 100K mileage one seems more attractive from the info you provided.

    • @jollywong1118
      @jollywong1118 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ArtTunerz ArtTunerz thanks for your reply! Some people say 30k HKD difference I could buy a whole new K20 engine, also, the 100k mileage car has a stock exhaust with Rays wheels and Spoon brakes, LT suspension and SWIFT front back secure while 145k mileage has Wedspot SA70s rims and Bilstein suspensions.

    • @ArtTunerz
      @ArtTunerz  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jollywong1118 I think a full inspection of the car will be important to determine,.. not just based on aesthetics or parts. The scary thing of any used car is the things you cannot see. Service history is important.. so if you can get the service history, that will help, and also no. of owner count, and who the owners are and whether the car has been tracked before.

    • @ArtTunerz
      @ArtTunerz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, those are custom fenders, and no they are not wider than standard, although they give an illusion it is. However, it does help to vent some pressure off the inside of the wheel arches. The CU2 Type S, is pretty good actually. It's got the K24A with a relatively high 11.0 compression ratio. If you can find a manual version of it (which is very rare in Singapore), then it definitely is a keeper.

      @@golf1dieselIf you referring to mine, the CL7 JDM Euro R version, it is not really for grand touring... it has more Type R DNA, for aggressive driving / tracking. if you want cruise control, you can get the CL9A with the K24A, that comes with cruise control.

    • @golf1diesel
      @golf1diesel 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ArtTunerzI know about that. I've almost bought a cl7r in 2021. I've owned a FN2 Type R for 4 years and spent quite a bit on mods. I've traveled through 8 countries yearly. It was versatile with hondata, both cruise control and Launch control. Not everyone can afford 2 or 3 cars so that had to do the long journeys as well. It was very enjoyable on the Autobahn as well as on the mountain roads here in Romania.I'm sure the Accord would be decent too just have to stop more regularly without cruise control.

    The Accord Euro R is actually faster than the Dc5 Type R on the Touge, because it has far better Suspension, having Double Wishbone,s all round makes a big difference, so I think the Accord is a way better car than the DC5 Type R, if your Tuning it, drive safe.

      Yes, as the Euro R is JDM only, therefore they only come as RHD. For the CL9 Type S, that is a great car too! That one comes with the K24A, and the great thing about the K24A is it has more low-end torque, which is great for city driving.
