Third of what I hope will be several guides aimed at new players to help cover a lot of the lesser known, niche details that can serve as a barrier to entry.

Loved the guide! Thanks for teaching new players. It always pains me to see me being used incorrectly.
I was just about to correct your use of the word “me” when I realized your name was door. I thought you were wrong and you just pulled the “no u” card on me.
Lovely video. As a new player I'm annoyed by how doors are automatically placed so I always optimize them, but thanks to you now I know how to stop the auto door placement.
Can you do a tutorial on thruster placement next? Loving all of your guides so far!
Your videos have really helped improve my ship design! I hope you post more
You always give attention to some lesser known details in the game. Good stuff
Also, have you seen the video where someone managed to defeat The Terror with a ship costing only 1 Mil?
I’m bringing this up because I thought I’d propose to you a similar challenge of this sort.
Only difference is that the ship you have to beat is the Amazon, a truly beast of a ship. Not only would it be fun to watch, it’d be very informative as I’ve never managed to defeat that ship.
I think it would make for a very entertaining video, challenges as such in the future would be something I’d definitely love to see in the future.
Just a suggestion though!
Great idea, but there's one glaring flaw in all the giant laser beam ships such as Amazon and Ace: _You can simply outflank them._ Ace, despite being objectively way stronger than Amazon, I once defeated with a *Fanged Fighter,* the literal worst built-in ship in the game that can't even sustain its two blasters! Yes, it took almost half an hour, but that junk of a ship still managed to shoot down the core assigned to the control room and didn't even get damaged! Amazon is a hundred times harder because of its EMP armament designed to stop exactly that strategy, but it is still possible to dodge all four of the EMPs if you are skilled enough at piloting and flanking, and if your ''Squib'' (Cosmoteer community's way of saying a tiny ship specialized to defeat much bigger ships) has good enough strafing capabilities.
And to be totally honest... Exactly *that* would be interesting to watch. A squib-building and optimizing guide with an epic fight at the end as a cherry on top.
watched 3videos and feel like I'm worlds ahead of every new player with a playtime of 30min.
awesome guides! cant wait for more! thx mate!
and good mic improvment in the middle of the video! keep up!
Great video, thanks for making it!
Again you deserve way more subs
Concise! Keep it up! Thank you!
Really great video ! Personnaly I would change everything in the last ship ^^
Can you do a tutorial about ammo storage and production? Thanks for the tips
Nice video!
Awesome guide
I kind of disagree on "cost" part if you play career. If extra doors doesn't hamper your efficiency, all that stored coils can be used when you decide to scrap your ship to rebuild it in "Heavy Lasers Masterrace" fashion. That's why I never save on reactors too (unless using smaller reactors to save space for some reason).
Thank you for this! I am looking for good How to and whys. This is awesome!
5:00 Yea but who puts in that many doors? Only an idiot would put in 4 doors per storage.
Looks at my ships.
Oh... I... I did that... Damnit.
Could you make more Guides? They are really helpful and I like making my ships better!
Was placing doors everywhere i could, tnx
Me too
Amazing guide. Thanks a lot
- Hello, I'm Saris, I'm pretty decent at the game and today I'm going to go over... Doors.
*Door,* the Cosmoteer builder:
...Jokes aside, one thing about the example ship, though: You can place the small laser blasters' doors *directly* on the storage, both saving one of the two doors of the large laser blaster whilst not with the price of slightly decreasing the small blaster's efficiency.
could you also make a video on walkways belts or whatever they are called? I saw some people leaving gaps beside doors but you didn't do that.
also important is the crew management, can you also make a video on it? crew roles, priorities and bunk placements (i know for example that when in operation the bunk can be wherever as long as the station has power, but the battery jobs is better to have the bunks near the power source for them to move less and so on)
9:34 Not sure how moving the door to the left improves the left lasers logistics AT ALL. They both require them to travel the same distance at the same speed. Therefore leaving it on the right to improve the right laser is really the only option.
Hey, this is a good video! I like your guide. I have a question tho: Do container rooms count as rooms with 50% speed or as coridors with 100% speed?
You can check the stats of every room by mousing over them in the build mode. I think it's 50% but don't know for sure.
Can I ask you for a vid on ideas on harvesting ships designed to harvest and factories?
awesome. more!
Instead of this tip (it's annoying to wait for the door after the time, even with smaller ships), I would give the following, the ways of the crew to keep the energy supply as short as possible: Eg. Crew quarters -> generator -> consumer = Next to andother bz connected by door; no corridors in between.
How do we add mahogany doors though?
I get what you're saying, but if I turned it off i would aways forget to put in the doors
Hi, i just started playing, could you rate my ship?
Ah during classic, I learned how important doors are the hard way
can u make a tutorial about crews?
i can not make a ship with more than 500 people and have a lagfree game (at high game speed)
Probably not efficient but I just put doors in every available place 😂
Oh interesting video will need to implement this
Seems odd they have a setting that's so bad
I know it's more efficient, but placing the cockpit sideways hurts my soul from an aesthetic standpoint. 😭
You sound like the nerd emoji lol
