- Che is an unusual fruit that tastes like watermelon. Often needing a male partner for pollination. Some growers have had good success without a male and eat to their hearts content. So far we're struggling to get to that point. More to come.

Looks amazing, I ordered my tree, the same variety like you hope to receive it in few days. Hope they don't fell off and you can enjoy some che fruit.

Any advancement on your tree?
I just acquired 6 specimens : 2x Darrow / 2x Seedless / 2x Norris & 2x male. I keep my fingers crossed but I'm pretty determined (thought about comparing each cultivar coming from same batch in soil & pots as a start) however I'm looking for a JF Female I read about. It would also be great to know any forum or else where owners exchange about their findings 🙂

What is the update, did you get it to fruit? Did you like the fruit? I got one from Edible Landscape in VA, and it's small but healthy. The leaves look very different than the ones on your tree.
Not yet.
My che tree is about 4yrs old now.. same problem with the dropping fruit. It’s in the ground. I’ve gotten a lot more fruit but it doesn’t get as big & ripe as expected; it’s not edible. Super healthy tree & grows crazy but I can’t seem to get any edible fruit. I’m giving it one more year.
Hi Ross. Did your Che fruit hold on this year or drop? If it ripened, wondering if it was any good? Considering growing it in NJ 6b but not if it always drops. Thanks for your feedback!
It dropped again. One more year with it or it's gone. I did do a video on the results of how things did in my orchard this year. Should come out soon.

I just bought one of these (a little smaller than yours). do you think I will have better luck if I leave it inside near a south facing window (in Atlanta)? Mine has been growing in a greenhouse and currently has all its leaves as of Jan 5th 2020

Already up to the wire and going horizontal. Quite well for planted in a new hugel bed.
Put it in the ground. You have plenty of space and it isn't common tree
