Thank you for the information. I am starting an orchard in zone 7b in Tennessee. I am interested in growing rare fruit trees that can adapt well to my area, and I came across your video while researching about melonberry.
Thanks I just had one today they are great. Check out my channel for some other interesting fruit. I'm not going to lie our late frosts make it difficult.
In my research it seemed that many people recommend the one sold by Edible Landscaping as the best. It's seedless and self fertile. I got mine from them it arrived healthy and has put on some amazing growth. It took me a couple seasons of trying to get theirs.
I'm in growing zone 6 and i found some of these that should grow here. I'm probably going to order a dozen of them. I have a 1 acre food forest. The more diverse the better. It's a cousin of the Mulberry.
Love the shots of the beautiful Norris Dam and lake.

There is a huge forest behind my house with hundreds of Mulberries. I have an unlimited supply.
I have a seedless che. It taste like cantaloupe to me. I don't like cantaloupe. My kids love it! Try the Chicago fig.
Blasfemia... how can't you like cantaloupe... never heard of such a thing🤣
@matino717 it's just not special
The deer know what is good.
I just ordered a melon berry and live just outside of Norris! Where is this tree? I would love to try the fruit while waiting for mine to mature.
Its off song bird trail. Look for the jujube apple orchard sign
@@FruitTree Thank you. I walk that trail often and ate some of the jujubes last year.
@KristenMcGrew-t5d they don't have a lot of fruit but they
Do stand right next to the jujube
I have one in Mesa. Its grafted on Osage orange rootstock and is the Darrow variety.
Very cool. Do you get fruit ? How does it taste in AZ? I'm curious if ot ripens too fast
Did you find out who sells the tree?
I have not found anything
All tree can.be graphed your thinking about hybridization grafting is growing a different tree species into one tree the two species combine
Che grafts onto Osage Orange
Yeah I mentioned that towards the end of the vodeo.
Edible landscaping propitiate this as seedless Che. Same tree.
where can i get a female in ontario canada i gotta have it lol
If I find a source I'll let you know
Somebody have some seeds to share?
They are seedless. Only through grafting or air layer
That must be the original "Norris" che tree. It's pronounced "chay", not "chee".
I'm thinking you are correct. I even have a friend from China that I called to help and he hadn't even heard of them.
You can graft it on Osage Orange, if that grows in your area.
Yes I've heard that
I am sure bringing a pair of scissors on your next trip will not harm or hinder the tree...just take a few clippings and try
