2001 Ford Mustang BULLITT - Tour/Test Drive/Revs/Acceleration

  • Tour and test drive of my stock 2001 Ford Mustang GT Bullitt Edition. Highway pulls and stock exhaust sound included.
    This was a special-edition car based off the 1968 Steve McQueen movie "Bullitt" that was marketed below the Cobra but above the GT in the New Edge SN95 lineup.
    There were other special edition Bullitts made in 2008, 2009, and then again in 2019.
    The Bullitt package included green paint just like the movie car (although black and blue were optional), special suspension, upgraded V8 engine, unique exhaust tuned to sound like the movie cars', styling tweaks, and retro touches inside and out.
    Made when it was for sale (has since been sold).
    Figured I'd post it live so people could learn more about these cars.
    Stay tuned for more car content coming soon from this channel!

    First thing you do after you turn the car on is turn OFF the traction control. I miss my old Bullitt!

    Really cool car. I love the power to weight ratio and just fun factor of the 01 Bullitt. Really nice car, beautiful, looks so fun!

    • @RetroCarsForever

      Not really, there was a small easily replaceable sensor that had to be swapped and that was it.
      I did replace the fluids and spark plugs once I bought it just as preventative maintenance.
      Really loved this engine! Strong, reliable, and sounded great.

    I love the way these cars look. I have an 01 Cobra. If I can find a nice condition Bullit in dark green or true blue for a decent price I'm buying it.

    • @RetroCarsForever

      Agreed. New Edge Mustangs get a lot of flack for their "tacky" styling, but I think the Cobras, Mach 1s, and especially the Bullitts look great.
      The Bullitt community is pretty great, too. You won't regret it!

    I have noticed these are running thousands more than an equivalent equipped GT. Is the extra cost worth it?

    • @RetroCarsForever
      @RetroCarsForever  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely. The Bullitt edition is much more than trim and a paintjob. Ford did A LOT of subtle enhancements to the styling, interior, suspension, exhaust, and engine that do a lot to transform the car into a sharper, more unique, classier vehicle than the standard GT. Drive them back to back and you'll be stunned how all the little changes add up.
      Plus, Bullitts are much rarer.

    There a great looking mustang but the only bad thing is there slow.But I may add one too my collection

    • @RetroCarsForever
      @RetroCarsForever  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Slow is relative...I thought the car was plenty fast for the city traffic I drove it in (you can see the traffic in the video, and that's LIGHTER than usual). If you like the Bullitt idea but want it to be faster, save up for the 2008 or 2019 versions, which are a good deal quicker.
      There are also plenty of mods for this gen that are pretty cost-effective, if you don't care so much about originality. A lot of Bullitt guys hot rod their cars.

      @@RetroCarsForever Believe me I am not bad mouthing the car .I have a 800hp gt500 and a couple supersnakes and I am used to the power of those monster's but just because the bullets aren't that fast there still a beautiful car.Besides my 4 shelbys I have in my collection I have a super clean low mileage 93 cobra and at best it's a high 13 second car but in my eyes the 93 cobra is one of the most iconic mustangs ever built . Basically I love all mustangs especially the 07 and 10 supersnakes.There so fast and collectable more and more every day.

      @@RetroCarsForever Yah man I have some pretty badass car's. But the 93 cobra really turns heads granted it has 20 thousand original miles original everything except for just exhaust and it may even turn as many heads as both of my supersnakes.I have a 10 grabber blue supersnake and my 07 427 Nascar edition convertible torch red supersnake.Iam really lucky to own these cars and a few others.I have a list of people that want my vibrant red 93 cobra and even though it continues to rise in value I don't think I am going to sell it. As long as I leave it stock and all original everything except for the exhaust it will continue to rise in value and I think my supersnakes will do the same.
