I remember working at Ford Motor Company when the first 2001 Bullitt was released. We had customers hovering over us with such eager anticipation, that our General Manager had to create distractions to keep them from pestering us.
He repeatedly told them "They can't deliver your car if you keep distracting them from their jobs". The tech next to me was one of the first to accept delivery of one. He also managed to get special pricing being a long time employee of FoMoCo. Good times.

Be honest Matt: did you want to review a Bullitt largely so you could finally use Bullitt music in a review? Haha, that acceleration was LOUD!
Driving my 2008 Bullitt feels the most like my 68 of any Mustang I've driven.
The better handling and brakes are a welcome addition over my first Mustang. I love the classics, but this is so much more drivable on a daily basis, especially as I age.

As somebody who drives a 2016 GT PP with 435 horse....this one looks just as fun, if not MORE fun! Gorgeous looking, and over 300 horse is a LOT for anybody, except racecar drivers, and people who have never driven a car!

Really like this video, I have mine black 2008 bullitt and I am really love with this car, specially after putting Roush extreme axle backs instead of factory ones :)
I bought a 37k miles black one 4 months ago. Did the axle back make it quite a bit louder.? I do like the deep sound of the stock bullitt exhaust.
@@hyssean12 I know it’s been a while since you posted it, but yes if you get smaller mufflers it makes a big difference in sound. Roush extremes are basically just muffler deletes though so it makes it a hell of a lot louder.
Love the Mustang hats off to Ford in making those amazing 4.6L V8's one of the best sounding V8's I've ever heard.
I really hope that Ford does in fact make a 2018 Bullitt Mustang because you deserve it and a way that you get excited about that exhaust sound is exactly what you need, something you're not getting right now.

I like this version better than the 2019 bullit. Just love the retro front end round headlamps. Just the overall from end look much better than the newer mustang front ends.

I'll second that, plus with those quarter window louvers it completes that modern classic look. The only Bullitt I'd consider getting.

I bought an 08 when they first came out and sold it in 10 and regretted it so much that I just bought a low mileage 08 again . I'm never letting this one go. Last of the old school cars :)
eddiet204 I did the samething. I had a 2007 GT.. I got rid of it and it was one of my biggest regrets.. Now I got a 2010 GT.. It's almost identical to my 2007. Black with black leather. The 2010 is a little bit more refined than my 07 I had. I dusted a Nissan 350 on the way home from work today :)
This is the best sounding S197 GT I've ever heard, especially when you let off the gas at a high RPM. Obviously more than a GT but you get the idea. Such a beautiful car, and an amazing review!!

i have a 2001 bullitt and i love it! really hard to find a 2008 and 2009 bullitt now a days. really great video!
I'm very tempted to buy one for about $10000. It has 140,000 miles, do you think it's worth it at that mileage? Looks in excellent condition with a touchpad stereo and routine maintenance in check
I know prices have gone up but I got a black 2008 bullitt with 37,000 miles for $14,000. I would hold off and try to find something with lower miles.
The happiness all over your face is priceless, you're infectious joy for these cars is absolutely awesome to watch, I've watched this video a couple of times now and you are so happy and excited to drive this car I actually went out and bought one.

I think the 2008 Bullitt is the closest newer car you will get to the classic 60s fastback Mustangs. I just bought one and parked it beside my 2007 GT500 and I'm broke but HAPPY

I'm thinking about buying one for my birthday. Tempting but I can also buy a 370Z or C5 Corvette for what they cost. This is the classiest but the Corvette would be faster by a lot.

Great review, sn97 mustangs are the closest to what 60s-70s era of classic Mustangs were in my opinion.

Absolutely. I have an 06 GT and I smoked those out a couple of years ago as the big orange turn signals made the car look too dated and 80s’ish. Looks much better smoked.
When I was probably 12yrs old I sat it one of these at a dealership and I hade no idea what it was but it was the coolest thing I ever sat in

Great review and I like what you did with the editing Matt! I'm a Bullitt fan myself so the music instantly got me excited. I remember when these cars were new, my dad and I test drove one at a local Ford dealership. I was too young to drive but it was still fun.

Your really putting out quite a bit of information on this Bullitt. I have a 2008 Bullitt and it doesn't have 350 Horsepower but 315 horsepower. The Bullitt your driving has a modified exhaust on it. I like my stock Bullitt Mustang but I could go for that throatier sound. I a week after taking delivery of my new Bullitt had to have a after market Glass Roof installed and I also had deep dish Wheels with knock-Offs installed. I didn't like the Ford Stero/Navigation that came with the car so I upgraded to the Pioneer Avic Z3 that is one fabulous system. I could very well be looking into acquiring a 2018 Fully equipped Bullitt so someone will be getting my fabulous Bullitt with all the kept in storage original equipment. My Bullitt is totally flawless and not a scratch to be found on it. I will be asking Top Dollar for my Bullitt in as much as a Ford Dealership doesn't offer any deal in taking my car with a fair trade in.

I saw a bullit on the way to work the other day. That's the second one I've seen in person. The ones that are still out there are being taken care of. Very very cool, besides the gt500 this is my favorite mustang of that generation.

As a recent owner of a 08 gt manual,
I love it!!
Not as fast as modern mustangs, of course, but way better styling. Is exactly why I wanted a 05-10 mustang gt.
But so much fun, to drive.

You seem to be saying that their have numerous Bullitt Version cars. There has been a 2001 model Bullitt and the 2008 and 2009 Buillits are identical cars.

Alright. For a while there I was like “eh I mean it looks cool” and then I heard the exhaust note start up and thought “yeah that’s expected, sounds like a V8” then he smacked the hell out of the gas pedal and it’s like a biblical beast from the depths of hell woke up and said “IM COMING FOR YOU”

Hey Matt, like your passion. I am trying to decide between a 2008 Bullit or 350z. I am 45, it has to be reliable and fun, it’s not a daily. I like corners and cars that are balanced. Given that which would you recommend and why?
I would suggest you take them both out for a test drive. I was thinking about a 350 Z only it was automatic and took them both out for a test drive, I liked the Bullitt much better much more iconic and I am a Steve McQueen fan. That is the car I decided on. I still think it's a very personal choice.

It's hard to believe that this was pretty much the only American muscle car around back in 2008. I guess the Monte Carlo or GTO/G8 were options but looking at what we have today, automakers have come a long way.
