    Story :-
    Sam’s mother and father, Joan and Max, have always preferred his older brother Will. Though they loved them both, Joan and Max always had their first choice. Sam failed school because of his sickness, which had made him bedridden for nearly a month. Sam had always been a naughty kid. Joan and Max thus snatch Sam’s college fund from his grandparents and gave it to Will, so he can go to a premium college and proceed to kick Sam out, leaving him alone to fend for himself.
    Will however drops out of his Ivy League college and takes loans in order to start a business but his business ends up failing due to bad customer reviews and Will’s arrogance. While Will failed at his career, Sam worked hard to get into college through a scholarship. He later joins a startup and because of his skilled work, he is made the chief financial officer (CFO) of the company, earning a very fat salary. Will had a restaurant that was churning out bland food and more debt while Sam enjoyed the perks of his position.
    Years later when Joan and Max get word of Sam’s success, they contact him, asking him to help them get out of the debt that they had fallen in due to Will’s numerous loans. Sam tells them that they bet on the wrong horse and asks them and Will to not contact him again as he saw that his parents still wanted to take what was Sam’s for Will so he had a better life.
    Will tries to get revenge on Sam but fails and leaves Sam an opportunity to destroy his reputation at his restaurant, leaving Will not only in debt but also jobless.

    OP only sped up the fall of the restaurant. He did not cause it he merely exposed it, a public service. And remember those "parents" emotionally & financially abused him for years, then stole from him and slander him, along with conning & slandering the grandparents, whose funeral they did not even attend. All three of these evil people deserve all the negative consequences of their actions. OP is NTA.

    • @annkupke4263

      Exactly. They stole the funds then slandered the grandparents by stating they did not pay for will. No the parents took the money that was for the youngest. Then when the rightful son got a scholarship it worked out. So when youngest was successful they came crying and begging for a handout. Nope. Then to find dirt is horrible, but karma came a calling. The only reason anyone is supporting the Parents and the OP's brother... is because they spun lies and half-truths to make them out to be the victim, so I can't even blame them. Even now listening to Reddit Stories I have seen how someone spinning the story the right way, can look to be the victim even while being the villain of the story. Imagine how the parents or brother could spin the story to make OP look bad, like they are the villain.

      @@locusxe1411 You are assuming they were told, it seems OP literally did not try to correct anything with those people, did not do anything to defend themselves to the people surrounding their parents, because they really just decided to cut contact, and let people think what they want. The parents brought all this on themselves by spoiling the older brother, and ignoring the younger. They also misused the college fund meant for the younger son. I'm certain they were aware of the older son's disinterest in college. So they squandered the grandparents' savings and denied the younger son the fund intended for him. He gave as good as he got. when the brother showed up at his work place trying to cause problems for O.P all bets were off. The mother getting upset with her own parents about setting up a college fund for the older brother were wrong. Do they really think the grandparents didnt see what was happening to O.P I think the grandparents should have filed a complaint when the college fund was given to the brother instead of O.P. I believe that would be grand theft since they were very aware of what the money was for.

    Frankly, the brother messed up. I'm guessing he saw himself living the lifestyle of a celebrity chef, living it up with the rich and powerful. I would say he did the parents a favor because that restaurant seemed doomed to failure. His brother would have sucked his parents dry trying to keep it afloat and it it was time they cut their losses.

    Anybody could have been the one to make those recordings and post them, maybe someone who was treated badly or got sick and wanted to expose them, not to mention it was failing anyway just very slowly. All OP did was expose what was already happening, he didn’t make up anything or lie, he showed what was happening and the inevitable came to fruition just a little bit faster. He did nothing wrong, they shouldn’t have been trying to ruin his life after failing to ruin it when he was a kid.

  • @deannahobson671

    When did they EVER treat YOU as FAMILY

  • @AlyssMadigan
    @AlyssMadigan ปีที่แล้ว +3

    No one should feel bad for OP's parents after they literally lied and stole thousands of dollars from their own parents to pay for the kid to drop out of college in the first year.
    OP is not the bad guy from making it public how poorly the restaurant is being run because it's essentially just a scam of a business and was already failing and probably costing more money to keep open in the first place. The staff probably should've been informed that the brothers weren't on good terms because what else did they expect when family shows up but to be nice so the boss man doesn't get mad? Feels like it's on Will and no one else.
    Parents seriously seriously need help to see the error in their ways. They're going to be on their death beds either absolutely firm in their wrong doings or realizing entirely too late that they mistreated someone who probably could've really loved them and taken care of them if they just loved and respected him at all.
    Parents who have favorite "golden" children really need to get help because it's absolutely toxic behavior and they need to not have more than one kid if they're going to do this shit.

    If you’re going to have favorites, don’t show it as much as his parents did, they never should’ve been parents. If that’s the case they made their bed they treated Opie like crap and now they have to deal with the consequences.

  • @tracyrieonhall7434
    @tracyrieonhall7434 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The grandparents should've set up an account for each child not given it to the parents. Also no need to feel conflicted OP your parents freely gave your college fund to your brother and said that you'd never amount to nothing so since they did that then you shouldn't have any reason to help them let alone care about how they survived because they didn't care about you period and only treated you like a slave but it is what it is. You do what you feel but if this was me I'd keep living my life and never look back plus I would sleep well at night because they deserve everything that happens to them since your brother is their golden child then let him save them but don't give them any of your time or your money

  • @JenaMontgomery-lc6pe
    @JenaMontgomery-lc6pe 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Absolutely! Telling them Hell No, I'm not helping you was the right thing to do! No one should play favorites with their children! That is the most hateful thing for parents to do! They withheld love from you as a child, now you are repaying for their treatment

  • @DCD762
    @DCD762 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Honestly I don't understand the term " they are still family "
    If they treat you well, yes they are family
    But if all they give you is pain and sorrow they are not family
    Who cares if the parents suffer from it?
    They stole his college fund, they treated OP as nothing all his life, never cared about him.
    Let them reap what they sow
