Thanks for sharing your journey. Keep going. I feel the same. When I was younger and after having my children the weight shifted fairly quickly but now I’m in my 40’s, it so much slower. Still try to remind myself a loss is a loss and a year later if you continue, you’ll be in a much better place, not just weight but health wise

@@lindakirby2540 so true. In a year I’d almost be at my goal even at this slow place. It feels like very little reward in the short run for a whole lot of self-discipline and effort!

I am 58 and I am a very slow loser even though I need to lose 4 stone.. I have decided to weigh monthly and I have set myself a target of doing 10 x Just Dance songs a day Mon to Fri. I start tomorrow

Thank you for sharing! Keep seeing it as a win even how small. That was slightly less than a pound a week, but there was progress. I have decided to take a month off any alcohol, drinking more water, and even eating my food in a certain order, such as veggies first, proteins next, and then carbs. A friend mentioned this to me and I want to see if it really helps my blood sugar levels when it comes to eating healthier and losing weight. I am also making sure to walk plenty each day because we think we are moving and we are not as much as we may have five years ago. Wishing you well on this journey.

Thank you. Everything you are doing sounds great to me - I need some of your discipline! You're absolutely right that we do not move as much as we should. Our habits are so key to staying healthy. Best of luck on your journey.

I completely get this! I’m around the same as you and have lost 1kg in four weeks I’ve exercised had 10.000 steps each day it’s really disappointing but we keep going it's about so much more than scale weight xx

@@marieelmadhi1833 10k steps a day is winning!! Well done.
It’s frustrating isn’t it. How people lose radical amounts of weight in a month is a mystery to me.

you may have gone over this in another video, so sorry if i missed that...but how did you calculate your calorie target to lose 0.5 kg per week? that's a 581 calorie deficit per day to hit a weekly deficit of 4070 calories. most of us are taking a good guess at our daily calorie expenditure, so if you need roughly 1900 calories to go about your day, then you'd want to limit yourself to 1320/day to see that rate of loss. i was also experiencing slow progress, but drastically overestimated my daily calorie needs at the end of the day my deficit was really only in the 200 cal/day range which matched up with what i was actually losing.

@@zudora1978 that could definitely be the reason. I am wary of cutting my calories lower as there is a growing body of evidence that it works in the short run but causes you to have a lower “set point” for what you can eat in the long run without regaining weight. There’s an excellent book on it too called The Obesity Code. So I didn’t calculate a deficit as such. Just chose a calorie range based on what I think I need (I was eating 2200-2400 a day before, so 1600-1800 seemed healthy). Perhaps extremely slow loss is exactly what should be happening. It’s just hard not to be impatient!
