As a massive Sonic the Hedgehog fan I remember buying this game thinking it was going to be amazing. The cover looked pretty epic and it was called Sonic the Hedgehog. The pictures of the game play looked brilliant. And then I played it. Once. And never again.

To be fair, Sonic 06 is a rare shit-covered gem that needed to be reviewed in this manner years ago.
The Xbox 360 is what, 10 years old now? When AVGN started out, he was reviewing 10 year old games from the 90s.
The AVGN series started in 2004 with 2 pilot episodes, but it was in 2006 where it was kicked into a real series.

And even then, he was reviewing games on the PS2, such as in the comparison between Godzilla games, and that console was barely 5 years old.

there was less time between the release of the Superman 64 release and the video for it than there was between this game and the video for it.
I find it funny that there was an episode with the "Ghost of Christmas Future" where it showed the AVGN as an old man in the future reviewing the Wii.
Fastforward to 2017 and we have the AVGN reviewing a 360 game as just a normal episode.
