Part of what made his response video so legendary to me to this day is how usually those type of videos start with a somber mood, and a while to get to the topic with awkward sentences and filler.
Jared's response video literally started with "Hey, what's up? *Anyway;"* it always felt like such a power move that he just starts it making his point almost immediately rather than try to paint himself as a sympathetic victim.

Its so staby and I really can't respect it. I was one of the few youtubers that made a video defending the dude, got 70% dislikes 30% likes and people disagree with my reasons just to little later on come out to be true all along. Amd then all of a sudden everybody talking bad about his character or his image turn 180, its so weak how people just change minds depending on where the hype train is going, like have little to no personality of their own to think critically at all. Some people should live with themselves longer and face hardships, perhaps that will make them good capable friends one day.

She came out of the gate with malice and the intent of making Jared look as bad as possible with "TODAY I LEARNED MY EX-HUSBAND WAS FUCKING HOLLY BEHIND MY BACK" and then, after proof was shown of this not being true "Well, I did know about this, but I tried to make it work." You see, if she lied about that and she admited that, why should we believe anything she says? Jared and Holly put up proof of their side of the story, Heidi just has the value of her own word, and she already run it throw the mud with that first malicious lie.

Almost a year removed from this vid and even then its been kinda eventful for all four to say the least...
Jared - Split with Holly in November 2022, Now in the 90s, Lets Play doing okay, main channel stuck at 888k for ages before dropping, fashion stuff.
Heidi - Still cosplaying, opened a shop somewhere, Cottagecore, Aries the Cat passed away, not much heard from her otherwise.
Holly - Started a business, Twitter meltdowns, tried to make allegations against Ross, insinuated dirt on Game Grumps. Maybe got it the worst in the long term, borderline lolcow if you're into that phrasing.
Ross - Found Giwi, killing it on Twitch, dipped from the Grumps and doing his own thing, over a million subs and struck GOLD with Gartic Phone.

I lived this drama when it was out. Huge bits of the story were missed out in this video - and I wish I still had the 'receipts' from the time - were Heidi found Jared's old mobile phone and the nudes were primarily leaked from that device, as there were texts where she was blackmailing/threatening him with it.
And that she assumably stumbled upon both Charlie's during this period. It's unsure how involved she was with the minor-soliciting scandal, but she was a part of it as she mentioned it first. When JTK says Heidi was quiet during an early period of the scandal...yes and no. She was quiet on her own Twitter, but she was active everywhere else spreading the narrative alongside the two Charlies AND on facebook (where she was the first to drop a post about the whole ordeal).
And lastly, though there wasn't concrete evidence it was Heidi who wanted an open relationship just for herself originally. She forced Jared to do it later as he had issues with the arrangement, but he eventually benefitted from it emotionally connecting with someone as his wife was - and let's not kid ourselves - abusing him emotionally. That is known, what isn't clear is if she had a side boyfriend the entire time, but it was suspected a male consplayer she was seemingly at every event with from a certain point (prior to them opening their marriage for her) up until the scandal was the guy, as fans had come forward noticing them together and Jared's marriage was a hot topic in inner circles due to Heidi flaunting herself with another guy at conventions.
Yeah, Heidi was a selfish abusive monster, and she only proved the point with her tirade for weeks after his clapback video. Girl wouldn't let it go, but it was noted she stopped saying specific things, so she probably got a stern letter from his lawyer to pack it in otherwise he'd seek legal action, which is something he alluded to but didn't want to take legal action and just call it quits.

The one thing jared did wrong was ask for nudes from his fans with no real way to prove their age, again this was straight up stupid. We have internet porn people, asking for nude pics is barbaric in these times 😂. He let the fame of geekdom crush him in this aspect. Now heidi was obviously lying cause she didn't care when she had a side dude but the moment he left her she wanted the rules to favor only her, ummm no honey you're in an open marriage you're either cool with that or you can't be in an open marriage, you can't bang whoever you want to and then your partner has to ask permission, gtfoh 😂. The amount of posts she did is honestly from guilt no sane person post that many times in a row if innocent, not to mention the parts she cut out or deleted cause again she was obviously not being honest, purposely not telling people she was in open marriage just to make herself look innocent and him look like a cheater again that was wrong and cowardice. What's even crazier is she's the one who wanted the open marriage in the first place so that's irony at it's greatest 😂. Humble always stay humble and never lie to the people who helped you rise.

When ProJared released his review of Final Fantasy VIII, he put up a community post of a kitchen knife taped to the end of a gun with the caption 'whatever' (the catchphrase of the game's protagonist). TH-cam cropped the image so you could only see the gun. This was right after all the drama had happened when Jared still had his divorce stubble and permanently miserable look, so everyone who saw the post was a bit freaked out before they saw the full image and realised what it really was.

It was interesting being a fan of Holly, Ross and Jared before all of this happening. As much as I liked seeing the relationship of Holly and Ross in their occasional blogs together, from an outsider looking in, you could see that that it was a case of opposites attracted. The energy between Jared and Holly was very interesting though. They were both passionate about a lot of the same things. As close to a “soul mate”as you could find (once again from an outside observer perspective). It almost seemed like a shame that they were both married then haha. When it became really weird was during their time in DCA. Seeing the community ship their DnD characters romantically and seeing artwork of their characters being “intimate” was a bit odd, but they both enjoyed the art regardless. It wasn’t that surprising when the drama dropped. It was disappointing. The amount of people who were like “you dumped her for HER?!” Posts was almost comedic. Because just like Holly and Ross, the relationship between Jared and Heidi was oddly similar - a mismatch of personality. I cannot deny it was amusing seeing all the dunking on Jared, but whenever people would comment on how he would “trade his beautiful wife for a gremlin”, it was obvious how little people knew about the whole situation. I mean once again, I was an outsider too, but this made a LOT of sense. It’s a shame how everyone handled it, and I feel bad for Holly most of all. Outside of all this drama that brought out her personal life, she was thrown to the wolves. You never get to really know any of these people, but her content before all this was the nicest wholesome community.

It really sucks when people make fun of e-celebs’ appearances, even if those people actually do suck. Take Leafy for example: when iDubbbz made fun of him for having a weak chin, there were several kids I knew in real life who got bullied for having weak chins, too. So even though Leafy might’ve deserved the ridicule, there were plenty of innocent people who got it, as well. In my opinion, if you make fun of one persons’ appearance, you make fun of everybody’s.

Okay I’m four months late to this video, but I had a way higher stake in this controversy than most people. I was/am a mod of the official asagao academy fan tumblr, and a member of the official Skype chat. It’s not really discussed in this video, but asagao academy was a dating simulator where you could date the members of normal boots, Jared included, which was made by peanutbuttergamer’s wife. Because of this, I got to talk to essentially all of them -jontron, plus the hidden block people.
I knew a lot of this stuff before it became ‘public’. I was 15 at the time, and I definitely had access to sinjared, but it was made very clear that it was 18+, so I kept away. There’s a lot of stuff in hindsight that was a bit dodgy that never made it to the mainstream, such as the ASMR videos Jared and a few others made where he’d read smut we’d written, etc. There were rumors that a friend of a friend had sex with him at magfest one year, so when all the rumours came out I felt really conflicted. It didn’t help that I’d never heard of the accusers, despite the fact that the fandom was extremely close.
I don’t know why I wrote this if I’m being honest. I made a small statement at the time but I never shared my personal experiences (in hindsight I’m glad I didn’t.) I still keep up with a couple of those who were also in the Skype chat, and I know they felt the same conflictedness. It’s so interesting to see an outside perspective when I felt so close to it, so I’m glad this video was made!

      Same.
Normally, I'm pretty cautious about this stuff. But the initial accusations against Jared seemed so airtight at the time that I let my guard down. I jumped on the bandwagon - how dare he cheat on his wife with another TH-camr and his own fans?!
Then we got accusations of him soliciting nudes from minors, and an 18 year old who claims she was "barely legal" and therefore acted like it was practically the same as illegal.
I dismissed the 18 year old outright because she was an adult. I couldn't find any evidence backing up the other claims made against him - even though the accusers should have been able to pull up screenshots easily.
It's at that point I hopped off the bandwagon, knowing that Jared was being accused of way more than what he has done.
Then he came out with the video and I realized I was wrong from the very start.
It made me realize that, even though I'm generally good at avoiding bandwagons, I'm still not nearly as disciplined as I should be.

When he came out with the video (now deleted) proving it was all a lie and the person withdrew her allegations I felt good for him.
But I never went back to watched him. I tried, but he didn’t seem the same nor did his content seem the same. It was honestly sad to me that none of the big TH-camrs apologized for dragging his name in the mud, and even some like H3H3 doubled down saying “Well he might have proved those allegations were false, but I still think he’s a creep and you can’t change my mind.”
Was disgusting how people treated him, and he’s a prime example of why I don’t trust people who make such allegations just because they claim to be a victim. I need proof or else I give it no validity.

In all it was a private thing that was supposed to stay private so it doesn't concern me nor does it bug me. I still enjoy ProJared's content regardless and let his private stuff stay private.
I was quite impressed with how Projared handled all of it. He took it like a champ head on and didn't resort to lowering himself to stooping to lower levels of drama like so many others do. This was very well done. I thank you so much for being even-handed in all this.
I remember when this all happened, and... it hurt me. Probably more than it should have, but still. I was devastated at the accusations Heidi was throwing out, and more so by the predatory claims. My at-the-time friend didn't help much by claiming things like how she "knew all along, just look at him." I remember writing a comment saying how disappointed I was. I went back and looked for that comment, wanting to delete it not long after I posted it, but I couldn't find it. I think I never did actually post it, as I remembered hearing some of the claims not long after and I realized something.
I couldn't see Jared doing this.
I relate to Jared. Our minds kinda work the same. I watched his content and, to this day, I make comments and have thoughts that show up in the video. Most recent was his Arcade's Revenge video, I popped into his stream while he was editing the final parts of the video and I asked the question about what Spider Man was hanging off of since there was nothing but clear sky above him. He saw my comment, skipped to the end of the video, and showed off how that was his closing joke. This kind of thing happened a lot for me on his videos, so, ya. I kinda had a small feeling of kinship with him. It wasn't much, I know that, but still. I would never do some of the more serious things Jared did, so there had to be hope. I realized then I had heard nothing from his side.
I fought against the accusations. With how much hate he was getting, there was one piece of information, a headline really, that I dreaded hearing that never came. Jared being arrested for preying on children. If that had happened, the internet would have exploded in cheers and my hope would be crushed. BUT. It never happened. Even some of the other serious claims should have led to imprisonment, but it never happened. I told my friend to stop, I shot back at people who sniped at him. I was attacked and called several insane names doing this, but I didn't let my hope die.
When Jared released his video saying his side, I cried. It confirmed what I had believed, and more.
Support for Heidi's spite had trailed off as her claims began to conflict with themselves, and her ire never stopping playing the victim in venomous ways, making people more willing to accept what he had to say. Which is probably why, by the way Joon, he waited so long. Not for Heidi to say something, or, as she claims, to hurt her, but because the attention span of the rubberneckers would have moved on by then. If he had said anything earlier, it wouldn't have been accepted, partially because he wouldn't have had the time to prepare his evidence, and partially because nobody was listening to anyone taking his side any earlier than that. Everyone was too busy making jokes and protecting "the innocent woman from the evil man," as most breakups usually illicit that response from people.
I'm so glad Jared is back and making content. He looks healthier, he seems happy (even has a Magic Tournament coming up where he might do quite well, wish him luck). I thank PBG and Holly and, shockingly, Pewdiepie for not giving up on him. The ones I'm disappointed in now are the Game Grumps. They locked the videos with Jared, and, to the best of my knowledge at the time of writing this, still haven't unlocked them. This sends a message that they are holding some sort of grudge, which, at this point, seems petty, especially when coming from a group that routinely makes jokes that are pro-infidelity. It's just sad.
Hopefully everything stays fine for everyone involved...except those Charlies. I just can't forgive, on a Human level, the amount of malice and greed those two exhibited (i'm not completely convinced they are two people really, but it doesn't matter)... I mean, Jared could have killed himself over accusations like that! Others have over SO MUCH less! I don't think I can ever forgive those people.

I agree with you on your statements on this. The creator of the Night in the Woods video game offed himself when Zoe Quinn lied about her being abused by him when the opposite was true, but the public sided with her. So yeah, I was so scared Jared and Holly would actually off themselves because of this, I’ve heard about some people being falsely accused of serious things like this, actually off themselves. I was also one of the those fans who didn’t believe any of the false allegations against them. I knew Heidi was lying from day 1 as I’ve been around people and been in a relationship with someone like her before and it sucked. When Bernievidz released his video defending Jared before his response video, I cried wept with relief, and when Jared released his response video, I wept with joy and vindication as I was proven right to believe in my instincts and my feelings about this situation. I wanted to defend them as a fan, but after witnessing PBG getting harassed by the Twitter mob for defending Jared, I kept silent but still supported them. I apologized to Jared in one of his Final Fantasy 11 live streams for being silent and he forgave me. I’ve forgiven some of the people who did apologize and genuinely regretted what they did and said. I can’t say the same for those who never apologized and didn’t regret what they’ve done and said, especially Heidi, Chai and Charlie. They lied about very serious allegations and they are the reason why real victims of abuse don’t come forward with their stories and why those who are falsely accused get a bad reputation. And in my eyes, it’s crossing the line and it’s unforgivable. I’m also grateful to Pewdiepie, Smash JT, and some of the smaller TH-camrs who didn’t believe the lies as well as the TH-camrs who actually waited until everything calmed down to talk about it. I’m sorry you were harassed by the ignorant people for defending Jared, I was indirectly called those names by those people too, they say things like “If you support ProJared in any way, shape, and/or form, you’re a cheater/abuse/nonce apologist/defender.” It’s the same gross harassment I still see on social media, the ignorant people who don’t care about the facts and the truth about Jared’s innocence. It really sucks and it’s one of the things that upsets me the most about this situation. As tough as it was, despite all of my pain, anxiety, anger and anguish throughout the whole thing, I also never gave up on Jared and those who stood up for him, and that’s something I’m proud of and I’m proud of those who thought the same way as me.

I know what it's like to have people openly harass you and sabotage you behind your back with impunity. And, most of all, I know that most people can't handle that kind of social hate.
I was scared for the guy. Like I said, people have killed themselves over much less. And if that had happened, because I relate to him so much and knew the kind of shit he was going through, it would have felt like a piece of me died too.
