  • Adams polishes Mega Foam vs Koch Chemie GSF. A battle of the foam cannon shampoo. I am looking for foam cannon soap quality, Thick, Slick, Smells good and cleans well. Adams polishes is known for high quality American made products and Mega foam is my favorite so far in this foam cannon soap challenge. Lets see what it will do against Koch Chemie Gentle Snow Foam. Koch Chemie is a favorite among professionals and car detailing enthusiast. Both should perform well in the MTM foam cannon. Both are great foam cannon soaps for auto detailing.
    **Costs of products are at the time of the filming.
    I hope this helps you with deciding what will work best for your situation. I have my core go to products but I prefer a variety as it makes me happy to switch things up and try new stuff. Makes me want to get out there and detail. I have been reviewing several other car detailing foam shampoo products and will continue to compare them head to head. My goal with this foam cannon soap challenge is to provide you with a look at what you are buying before you spend your money and have there be no doubt the results you can get from these products.

    instead of mixing the GSF with green star, you can use Af with a ph of 9.5, which is essentially GSF with green start mixed in. Gf seems to work better than GSF for breaking down heavy deposits such as grime, light dirt, break dust, road runs. I use Af as my pre-wash and Adam's shampoo as my hand wash.

      E actly what clean8ng is done by all the foam thickness that just falls off the paint? Its worthless other that visual for toddlers to get excited about. Its how long the product will stay on the target areacbefore drying out or falling off. But the primary is how well it gets dirt and grime off. That is how you should test things.

  • @richardfield5176
    @richardfield5176 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    How well does the foam actually work should be criterion number one. Spray down one side of the truck with product #1; opposite side of truck with product #2.

    • @HawaiiDetailing
      @HawaiiDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I plan on doing a closer look at my favorites at the end of this. This is just a general foam challenge. It’s hard to do this many foam shootouts and have consistent cleaning criteria to judge them fairly. I would need a lot of vehicles with exactly the same amount of dirt otherwise people would say one was dirtier than the other. I have used them all and they all clean well. That I can say for sure. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.

    I lmao at the intro. You’re so entertaining. This is the best channel for foam reviews, comparisons and testing.
    I have Adam’s Mega Foam and am on My third bottle of Koch Chemie GSF. I like that GSF can be used as bucket wash soap along with foam. Pretty sure Mega Foam can be as well. Never tried it. It’s a tough one. Based on thickness? Adam’s! Even when You add more product/alter the dilution ratio. Something about Adam’s Mega Foam. It’s in a class by itself.
    Thank You again for superb content, great testing, HUMOR and simply feel good video material. Be well, keep up the great work, keep those cars clean and, have a nice weekend.

      GSF won all the way. I dont think that u know what foam is supposed to do. Thickness is a problem, cause it falls off the paintwork quickly, foam should be like thick milk but not like whipped cream. If it lays longer on the paintwork it works better, cause it softens the dirt better. Foams like adams are totally useless, its made only for visual purposes.

    In terms of foam, nothing i have used is better than the mega foam. Two ounces with a liter foams absolutely amazing. The GSF provides more a milky substance even at 1-2 ounces, i never found that it makes sense to use 5 ounces. I bought 1 full gallon of GSF with a 32 ounce bottle. I will say the GSF seems slicker for the mitt and I personally love the smell of the GSF. But I loaded on Black Friday of Adams mega foam and bought 3 gallons at 42 bucks a gallon, beats a gallon of GSF at 80 bucks.

    Mega foam without a doubt!!
    But that just gets me wondering what's better for cleaning capability? Thick Foam or runny foam? I believe a runny foam like pearl would be good as a presoak to run down the dirty then a thicker foam for the contact wash, thoughts? Or maybe the other way around I don't know which one is better at lifting dirt

    • @HawaiiDetailing
      @HawaiiDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like thinner foam sometimes as well. My experience is that when you agitate with a wash mitt the dirt comes off easy on both. If it’s too runny it will dry faster on the paint. It’s all personal preference. Thanks for watching

    I’d love to see someone figure out a way to reliably compare cleaning power of the various snow foams. I don’t care about foaming theatrics, I do care about removal, loosening, and encapsulating of dirt and grime so that my pressure washer can safely remove as much of that stuff as possible before I do my contact wash.

    • @HawaiiDetailing
      @HawaiiDetailing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Watch my video on detailing products for almost free. I add APC to my soap and it give the cleaning power you are looking for. PH neutral soaps are mild soaps that are more for maintenance washes. They are less likely to spot if it dries and way easier to work with but the apc additive with increase the cleaning power but increases the risk of spotting if it dries. Hope that helps.

    We need a test of how much it’s actually cleaning pre contact instead of how much foam it produces. There used to be a small TH-cam channel that did this with various snow foams and APCs but they haven’t posted in over a year. Some soaps foam a lot but remove 0 dirt. IIRC chemical guys honeydew actually removed a substantial amount of surface contaminants pre contact. I would love to see more comparisons like that.

    • @HawaiiDetailing
      @HawaiiDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a great idea for sure but hard for me to do as I would need a bunch of equally dirty vehicles with the same amount and type of contamination on them. The viewers would quickly say that one was dirtier than the other or the dirt was different on one than the other and the test is invalid. Always a tough crowd to please but hopefully there is something to get out of these demonstrations. These are just for fun and to show people the general capabilities of these products and what to expect before they spend their own money on them. They can watch me spend my money on them first. LOL. Thanks for watching

      I like GSF in the bucket and mega in the cannon.

  • @Adrian-jp2kt
    @Adrian-jp2kt ปีที่แล้ว

    I had a bad experience with GSF getting a good thickness of the foam. I started with their dilution ratio stated on the bottle. 20ml per liter of water. A lot of BS. I needed to add 100ml of gsf in order to get some decent foam. Also the cleaning properties are pretty bad for a dirtier car.
    I ended up using around 100ml of GSF + 50ml of Green Star which did the job but it wasn't worth it from a financial point of view anymore.
    I have a MJJC foam canon, I have tried using warm water and changing the orifice of the canon to 1.1. Nothing worked. So as someone stated below, I find GSF good only for some superficial dusty cars or for using it in the bucket.

    Which one has the best cleaning power

    • @HawaiiDetailing
      @HawaiiDetailing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are both PH neutral. You will get lubricity, encapsulation of dirt, direct sun tolerant wash, bucket suds and foam cannon foaming to name a few characteristics of a good PH neutral soap but true no touch style cleaning power would come more from increasing the PH. There are consequences that come with that also. With that being said both of these work great in conjunction with an agitation bucket style wash.

    Don’t get me wrong because I am a Adam’s supporter and have and use this but it is not only about thickness of the foam that is important, it is the cleaning properties that it offers and Adam’s does an amazing job at that but I have not tried the Koch Chemie yet but I am curious about it. I recently switched from Adam's Mega Foam to Koch Chemie GSF. After doing just a touchless wash (foam soak then rinse then leaf blower to dry), there's no question GSF cleans much better than Mega Foam. Adam's doesn't clean as well and also leaves a film on the car that won't come off without a contact wash. That film picks up dirt over time. GSF rinses of perfectly.
