Love this stuff. The sandalwood scent is amazing. It actually works very well as a hand wash soap too. I foam, rinse, then foam again with the same stuff and contact wash. Nice slick shampoo.
I really like Active Foam for either a coating decon maintenance or as a prep wash before polishing, but I think BH Touch-Less is better as a pre-wash if you're in conditions that require it more often. AF has caustic ingredients that can degrade things more quickly than Touch-Less. Now that OG is importing it, Bilt Hamber has more control on pricing as part of their agreement (The Clean Garage was really bending people over on price when they were selling it.) Combined with the stronger concentration of the new formula, it's much more economical now. For my 2 gpm pressure washer, it ranges between 75mL for 0.5% PIR to 300mL for 2% mL with a full MTM foam cannon. You don't need to lay it on thick either, just get it on the surface. I get two washes out of one fill of my foam cannon when washing my X5. If you want to be even more economical, just mix it up in a spray bottle or foaming pump sprayer at your desired dilution (just as effective as a foam cannon) and only target the dirtiest areas rather than blanketing the whole car. I've found that 0.5% PIR is more than sufficient for a vehicle with a well performing coating, even with heavy dirt/pollen.
Still close to $50 a gallon and with OG you get bent over on shipping unless you're a part of their members program. 300ml is still a LOT of product to use to achieve 2% PIR when other products require 100ml or less for similar results. I'm just never gonna be on board with BH until they stop trying to sell so much water. It's fine in EU when it's as cheap as purple power there pretty much. It is definitely a good product but value is king in my world.
@@BelLavoroAutoSpa i also prefer to pay extra for bilt hamber knowing that their formulations are non cauastic and clean so well....i read the sds sheet for active foam and its not as a safe for your paint as Bilt Hamber.
Great video!! Was wondering if this would be a good prewash for getting oil off my car. Got it undercoated and the oil stuff they put in the fenders and such is on the outside of the car and door jams. Thanks!!
Great demo of Active Foam, here in the UK it’s only available in a gallon drum so hopefully it will filter down to be available in these 1L bottles too as I’d love to try it, same with their new rinseless wash it’s not in the UK yet either 😭
KcX GUF and Motor Plast are their two gems. When it comes to BH using in a pump sprayer is the way to go. What was 4% before is 2% now. 20ml in 1000ml for a pump sprayer. The german crew on the detail discord do it this way. Like Reggy says foaming is expensive.
@@BelLavoroAutoSpa hi, I only have 2 Marolex hand pump sprayers as I live in an apartment. One acid and one foamer. Was looking into battery powered pressure washers but they mostly look like trash.
Thank you for the video. Is the dilution ratio of AF more concentrated than Bilt Hamber touchless? Is it as effective as touchless? I just read for pump sprayer that you only need 20mil for touchless and 30-50 mill of AF per 1 litre of water.
@sabotage3d not sure honestly, I don't use shampoos in a pump sprayer enough to know. I would try what you're familiar with and adjust from there to your liking.
ADS is carpro of USA. Hands down. Been saying that for a while now. Can't wait for Nanomagic. Getting back to the protection shampoos! Hyperclean supposed to work too
If you want to try their Super Foam be very careful, no matter what i did i got bad soap stains on my car. I almost threw it away until i ran out of laundry detergent and decided to try it for my clothes just for fun. No joking, best laundry detergent Ive ever used and it’s now my favorite soap for laundry lmao
Did you wash in the sun or let it dry? I use SFN on dirty cars all the time. The dilution is 1:50 so in a full foam cannon you only need 1oz if you put too much product in that could have caused issues too.
I legit used SFN in 90 degree heat in sunlight and let it sit for 5 minutes and never ever had staining issues on my customers cars and my own. You mightve gotten a bad batch
@@atreidianexecutor5660 I honestly don't know what happened, I try to never blame the product cause it could have been many different variables, like my cars paint not being receptive to it, maybe its my water, maybe its me. Who knows lol. To answer your question i used one ounce in my griots Boss foam canon and only let it sit for 2 minutes.
Koch Chemie is without a doubt one of the best values in detailing today. All their products work great and you get a lot for your money. I too am all about the scent. I know it doesn't make a darn bit of difference on how the product works, but to me, it's just a better user experience with a good clean scent, like you said, like a fresh laundry scent is what I prefer, especially when it comes to interiors. To me, a fresh "clean laundry" smell scent is the best. I don't need to smell fake cherry or fake any fruit or coffee smell, etc. Just give me a great "fresh" scent which makes the interior smell great for a week or two! I'd be a happy camper. What are the best "fresh" scented interior product's you have used? What about SINTRA? I've been thinking about buying that one in the concentrated version to mix up myself. I know you had some experience with that one.
@@BelLavoroAutoSpa Oh yeah baby! That's what I am talking about. I'll be buying a bottle tomorrow! LOL. But seriously, i've been wanting to try that one since you first reviewed it a while ago. I have yet to try any products from Vonixx but they sure do seem like a pretty good value for money provided they work well.
1-1 is a bit of a blanket statement for BH as it would depend on your setup, they’ve also doubled the concentration, 2% MAX PIR and if you want cheap then 20ml MAX in a sprayer, not sure how that’s selling you water. Hero seems to do well with dust accumulation, although I’ve only used it once, looking forward to testing it more.
Compare NH to anything else. KC here for example or 3D Super Pre Soak. Both of those you use considerably less. That's how BH is selling water. Using a sprayer is going to take much longer to apply.
@@BelLavoroAutoSpa BH are being accurate, saying 1-10 or such like is going to give people different results with different setups, there’s also a very good chance the dirt you had left wouldn’t be there with BH, where’s the value in a product that does half a job?
@@LSD04 well there are a few issues with the value of BH 1. The concentration of the product is crap. There's way more water in it than most other products. It's as concentrated as the cheap washes I find at walmart, though it is stronger. 2. The goal of a pre wash is to remove all the grit. There was a slight film left. Maybe BH would have bumped it from 85% removal to 90% removal, regardless the vehicle still needs to be hand washed. 3. If I want true touchless, I have Chem-X Stars & Stripes 2 step system. If BH remained the same price and was 3-4x as concentrated as it is, the value would be there. Other products priced the same or less are able to achieve similar results with considerably less product used, giving you much more value. BH isn't saving me any time but is costing a lot more money.
