Wow, I found your video very interesting, I have lived in Luxembourg for most of my life (and currently do) - and have been living in other EU countries, which means I never needed any paper work, interesting to hear how you had to do it to be able to work here. I'm very happy that you found such a nice appartement and that you seem to like it here.
I move from the Netherlands to Genk that's in Belgium and my question is can I get work in Luxembourg?? I have diplomas but my English an d German are good and fluent Dutch ofcourse
Thank you so much for sharing. Actually the tips about the caution money with the bank is really important for me since I can't prepare that much money from the beginning.
Hi Justin and a warm welcome to my beautiful country! I hope you will enjoy your stay and your job. I live in the north (in Diekirch) and I am TH-camr too (but a totally different niche than you 😉).
Hi Justin, I just got my authorisation to stay last week and made an appointment at TLS Cape Town for tomorrow. The only thing I'm a bit uncertain about is the requirement to present myself at the municipality of my residence in Lux. How did you provide an acceptable proof of residence? I thought I would have to find an apartment within 3 days, but it sounds like you had a bit more time to hunt for an apartment! Any advice will be great! For now my plane ticket is booked for end of January.
Great video. I got many useful information from this. Please tell about your monthly expense (without rent), like monthly grocessery cost to you for 1 person and what is for 2 person? What is the total average cost of living in luxembourge monthly? (beside rent/utilities) I am asking so that I and other people get the idea of cost of living there for 1 and 2 persons (without rent)
Hi Justin, Can we live a comfortable life with a gross salary of EUR 60k? Substracting the basic needs and rent, how much savings can we do, if you do have an approx figure. Thanks.
Hi Jeffrey. As a single person that should be more than enough. I earned less than that and I was still able to save a bit of cash every month. It probably depends on whether you have a family or not
@@JustInBerlin Thanks a lot Justin! Yes I'm planning to come to Luxembourg just by myself to save a bit of cash and return back to my country (Mauritius) in few years time.
Hey Justin, your room suits my taste. I'm wondering, with a 50K salary how much should go to rent? I'm thinking something like 800-900 a month, but I'm still not sure where I can get something good for that, given the choices and lack of real estate supply
Hey. Rent is very expensive in Luxembourg, with 800-900 you will likely only be able to afford a small room unless you share with someone in the city center. Otherwise areas like Mersch is a bit cheaper but further away
Wow thanks a lot for sharing your experience. How did you get a job there? Did you get it through an agency or you applied directly through a company's website? I would really like to work there as well.
Hey Justin, quick question. You mentioned that you found a bank that made all your financial critics easier and more convenient for you. I also live in Johannesburg, which bank was it?
1350 euros for a studio...found my 1 bed in dommeldange, stunning views, swimming pool, sauna, shop and small pub on site for 850euros, but that was 15 years ago 😳😂🥰 Top tip, DONT live in the city, public transport is free, make use of it... If your a city dweller fine, knock yourself out but in Lux you’ll be hammered...even a few miles outside of the city will give you so much of a better lifestyle.
From what I’ve seen there are not many employers in Luxembourg. Especially for someone who doesn’t want to work for a bank or for Amazon. Germany really has an advantage for product based companies
Hello Justin, thank u for the video. I was looking for such a thing. Could you please give a little bit more information about the bank guarantee for the caution fee. Websites of the banks are not clear so I would really appreciate the help. Also, how did you handle the address notification to the government since you did not have a home when you first went there?
Hi Sevgi. My pleasure! I have had a ton of questions and I am planning to put out another video either tomorrow or Monday. Ill be sure to address your questions then😊 Thank you for watching 👍
Sorry for the late upload. Things came up that I wasn't prepared for. Will be sure to post another video as soon as I have some time. Don't like promises I cant keep
Bank Guarantee: Basically your bank will hold your funds in a savings account you cannot touch, and the bank will give you a form stating this, that you will give the landlord/agent (Don't do deposits direct to landlord). Address when registering: With COVID they've been okay with hotel/apartment/AirBnB addresses, but make sure you move to permament address ASAP (as not updating will make your resident application process complicated).
Good day, amazing content; am currently in the UK (Uk passport ) and with over 10 years experience in IT and would love to move to Luxembourg. I know I should have moved before the brexit . Can you advise on how to go about it please ? I know I can visit for 90 days . Would you advise me to just move over and look for job whilst there or get a job first and sort out the paperwork before moving ?
Hi. I can imagine that it would be much easier for you to move there since you have a British passport. Personally i wouldn't move over before I have a job since it's very expensive to not have an income in Lux
Tip: don’t go! Why? Boring. Rude people. backwards. Poor quality of life. Free yet limited transport. Aggressive and no police presence with rising crime!

Hi just came across ur video. How can I get a job from Africa to apply for work visa? Can u be of help?
I am not sure. You need a company in Luxembourg to sponsor your visa
Thank you for your video. Did you mean that applying for the Authorization to stay takes 3 weeks assuming all documents are complete?
My pleasure. Its closer to 3 Months
Hi Justin, Do you mind sharing how long did it take for you to get your residence permit once you reached Luxembourg?
It all depends on when you can get an appointment. Once you have done your medical tets and went for biometrics it will only take a week to be issued
Hi
I tried to connect with u via LinkedIn unable to find
I hope to move to Lux soon, thanks a lot for the video!
