Pressurized the cylinders with shop air. I removed the spark plug and hooked up a compression tester but took out the schrader valve and hooking it up to an air compressor. The spring compressor too was purchased fron summit racing
Yes, only items replaced was cam, pushrods and valve springs. Kept stock oil pump, timing set and lifters. Although it wasn’t advised by most people since motor has 124k miles on it but I tried to do cheapest option possible
They are 5/16” in diameter but I’m not sure on the length as I’m not home right now. And yes I agree it was like 90 something cents for 5/16” wooden dowel that was several feet long at Lowe’s
If I only had a brain. I’d slow this down and try it. But no chance. I priced out a kooks catted long tube headers, 243 heads and BTR stage 3 cam with a tune and I was over $7,500. I’m not poor but I’m to poor for that.
I got it from summit Racing it's pretty sturdy and can do 2 valves at a time and is strong enough you can use power tools on it. www.summitracing.com/parts/pro-67605
Speak n Spell agrees
"That's Good!"
I very much enjoyed that video
Great video 👍 👌
Damn you make it look easy. What kinda setup did you use to keep the valves from dropping?

I do recommend replacing the oil pump with a high pressure oil pump while you're in there
@@APMotorsports0looked like you just ran your stock timing chain and oil pump?
@JonnyAbs-0 yes stock timing chain and oil pump. I would recommend upgrading the oil pump while in there though
@APMotorsports0 how long did this job take you? Nice work btw!
What’s the the go with the valve tool do you need keep rotating engine on tdc on each valve
Yeah I placed the cylinder I was working with at TDC and then applied shop air through the spark plug hole to hold the valves up
@APMotorsports0 you don't need air if it's TDC right? The valve can't drop
Nice vid! Did you keep running the stock oil pump and timing chain?

What’s your oil pressure looking like with stock pump ?
@@frankdelgado6353 same as stock. I have a video of dash while doing pulls with the cam on my page and it’s just 50ish psi
Nice video what are the size of the sticks and where you bought them don’t want to spend money on the tool

They are 21” long but can be little longer
Nice video! What was the specs on the pushrods you used? Thanks & hope she is running strong 💪
I used 7.400” pushrods. So far it’s running strong I have only put about 2000 miles on it since

What spring tool is that? I have one that only does one at a time.

@@APMotorsports0 Thanks, that's better than the tool I have.
