I still think the censorship of games like L4D, Manhunt and Conker is why these games have not seen any further sequels.
Naw left 4 dead 2 doesnt have a sequel beccause steam doesnt like the number 3 lol
The US version of Streets of Rage 3 was censored from the Japanese port. The female villains were covered up and Ash was completely removed from the game. Can’t believe this wasn’t even an honorable mention.
The Wolfenstein and South Park ones in particular sounds like something Germany would have made them do anyway. Their censorship laws *really* don't seem to like having the Nazis depicted at all, regardless of how they're portrayed.
I used to play all the Wolfenstein games. I remember when the first one came out on the Commodore 64.
Though it has changed just recently. Call of Duty Vanguard was one of the first games that was released in Germany without any censorship of Nazi symbolism. The new rule basically tolerates it if it fits into the historical context and does not glorify Nazism.
They are actually still doing this for example Commandos remasters, Battlefield etc.

For companies to sell to a wider public they should add options to censoring to minor public or sensitive countries, that way they wouldn't have to censor everything

@@SaturdayMorno86 triple A companies should do it, otherwise is kinda lazy, let's take an example from Naruto storm, most of the Naruto fans are probably over 18, but for selling even more, Bandai censored so badly for it to be sold to bigger audience, and it's not the only game, pretty much all anime games, and it's kinda easy honestly, as said before, look at Bayonetta, they just replaced her skin for clothes, and you can choose whether you want censorship or don't 😓
Before the reveal, I was predicting that Mortal Kombat would be number 1 for being the first game to be best known as M and that the clip of Sonya's victory pose from 1992 was show the list started.
It was also the game that gave birth to the ESRB.

As old school that Mortal Kombat is, it pretty much set a standard that has yet to be surpassed and no matter what, is always the go-to example whenever a new game that might be too violent for release on consoles and PC. Every game that has an "M" rating that has appeared since then is monitored by the ESRB which Mortal Kombat hands down caused for said group to be created in the first place. Not even Rockstar or their Grand Theft Auto franchise has ever managed that.
I feel bad for the gamers In Australia and Europe. They missed the best parts of The Stick of Truth

Nintendo was the first to ban Mortal Kombat but decades later they launched the trailer for MK11 full uncensored. Times are changing
San Andreas is still my number one favorite GTA video game.

Funny enough Genesis owners who had either the Genesis version or the Sega CD version could get around the censorship via the Blood Code.
I've been playing Saints Row IV here lately and yeah lol I've noticed some things being censored on there especially when your character is naked they have him/her blurred out
I need to play fahrenheit/the indigo prophecy one day it’s really clever how the characters stories collide and the split screen when tense scenes are happening- I’ve watched a playthrough but I guess it’s not the same as playing it for yourself, pretty cool to think that the devs went on to make heavy rain!
If you are into story based, dialogue choosing games it’s worth playing

I still remember the first Time that i had to play that Sex Scene in Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy. I thought to myself: "Ok, they allow to show something like that?"
At that Time i didn't know that it was completely uncensored for the European Region.

Mortal Kombat. MK pretty much is thr reason we have the ESRB system in place plus it was banned in various countries in the world in between MK1 to MK 11 depending on where you're from. I remember reading MK9 was banned in Australia and if caught you got 100,000 import fine.😳 Then a few years later they got a ESRB system so now they can play MK. I have few friends there they were bummed about that.
I also thought that Dead Space was censored in some countries but not sure.

Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door was censored. There was even a murder scene with actual bloodshed.
The code for Mortal Kombat on Genesis made the game completely uncensored instead of just unlocking the fatalities. Also, South Park the Stick of Truth was uncensored on PC in the UK

The GTA: San Andreas thing was so ridicules. Not only was the content unavailable without a mod, it wasn't graphic even for that time. I remember a lot of people got hyped by it and got the uncensored version only to be really disappointed when they found out it was only two fully clothed people with a sex animation.

That "sex scene" in San Andreas is exactly the same as the CLOTHED scenes in Ride to Hell Retribution and that was an M rated game.

Some of these make sense (like the Crusin' USA censorship and the Mario Kart changes) but some seem stupid like the Conker remake which has the same M rating as the original anyway (so having the language and other cut bits wouldn't have made much of a difference)
Everytime I see Conker: Live & Reloaded on any Watchlosers list (WatchMojo), I roll my eyes, I don't care about the censorship, if I wanted to see the uncensored N64 cutscenes, I'd watch them on TH-cam, the new multiplayer mode however I can agree that was unnecessary, but if I want an improved version of Bad Fur Day's single player campaign with better controls and an easier difficulty balancing, censorship or not, Live & Reloaded is still my prefer version of that campaign.
Really surprised not seeing Tokyo Mirage Sessions on here considering what a big deal it was for a lot of folks

Now I know I'm from another universe, I played the first Mortal Kombat in all its bloody goodness and fatalities on SEGA Genesis. I remember because I played my dad all the time and he was wondering how he ever bought this game for me while he took my head off as Sub-Zero, spinal cord and all. Screw this universe.

Mortal kombat 9 in Australia here was banned because of it's censorship classification rated it's didn't even have a R rating system on the game in Australia and there was a way get a copy of the game was on Ebay and the company there puts down on the package label as a DVD disc's
The Ban was reversed in 2013 after the R rating became available.

Just wish bits of GTAV were censored I’d rather not have to torture a guy in story mode by breaking his legs, shocking him and pulling his teeth out I’d rather skip that part entirely and what concerns me is parents are letting their underage kids play it then they wonder why their kids are picking up swearing and are desensitised to violence and copy things from it because they can’t draw the line between fiction and reality.
