man. the first video that discusses the parking break issue. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why the rotor was loose. But my parking break has always needed adjusting but after the rotors i put on, my parking break was near null on any downhill grade. Thank you
This video is a help. With that said it may not 100% match your vehicle. Completed a rear brake pads fix in an afternoon after industrial engineering work. Saved myself $300 from what was quoted at the shop! Certainly it took several hours so the convenience factor is up to you what you think is a good/fun use of your time. Anyone who has the prior experience of having done 2 or more clutches should have no issue with doing this one! Parts and tools from Walmart and Autozone did the job. By the way with the experience of having done CV joints, battery fixes, radiator fixes, a head gasket replacement, and a timing belt, my experience may not be universal! Done lots of automotive stuff, so may be a lot more practiced than most everyone except actual automotive mechanics
I would've loved the video if the camera man would've focused on the actual items that the worker was describing. It's very informative, but being able to actually watch the mechanism being described and the procedurre at the same time instead of being just below or above the process would really have been more helpful. The camera skills need to be refined. All in all thanks for taking the time to tape and post this for a money saving deal. I really appreciate it.
My clip is at the bottom on a 2011 IS 250 F- Sport but on this video it did start off at the top and ended up at the bottom. Any idea as to the correct position .
Thank you for the video but it would be a lot more help if we could see what were supposed to, i had a really hard time with the clip part because the camera was pointed at something other than the clip
You need to get somebody to hold the camera for you, that way you don't have to try to use one hand and the angles will be better, other than that great video!
I replaced the pads and rotors on my 2010 is250 and over 20mph it sounds like a bicycle chain when ever I step on the brakes, the rears, seems like the hardware kit they came with aren't stiff enough and the 2 bolts are just rattling when I hit the brakes no matter how much pressure.... any input?
the little metal pin was not in place for some reason, I bent it and put it back in and will have to see if it stays or I need to order new set with brake pads.
If I only need to replace the rear driver side brake pads, would it be ok to lift/jack only the rear driver side of the car or should the car be equally leveled? Will this effect compressing the piston cylinder and the brake fluid process to the master cylinder?
i was taught to never replace 1 pad at a time. You will be placing excessive uneven wear by replacing 1 at a time. You always replace both driver and passenger side pads
Carlos HERNANDEZ That’s the caliper slide pin bolt. Without seeing it in front of me it’s hard to tell if you can drill it out or you have to replace the whole part.
oh ok. well its completely broken. its flush. Thanks for the video tho. i was about to replace the caliper but i noticed that wasnt the problem. thanks for you video
I read that forcing the caliper piston back, without opening the bleed screw, can possibly damage the brake proportioner's internal valves. Is that a potential problem?

It worked for me just changed my rears I think you gotta work on your comprehending skills
I removed the 19mm bolt to take off the caliper but the thing is not budging

Great video, If you are not replacing the rotor and only replacing the pads, do you still need to remove the caliper ?
Just the out half of the caliper.
This was the easiest brake job ever, i wish every car had this brake system
Thanks for the video. It helped me replace the brake pads and rotors on my IS250.
Glad to help. Thank you for watching and go Cowboys!
What brand should I go with? I have a 2007 Lexus Is250. Thank you
Hey I have a 2012 is250 and my rear caliper is seized on the bottom guide pin. Any suggestions on how to remove it?
THANK YOUFOR FILMING THIS!!
Hey, didn't the clip from the fitting kit start off on the upper pin and end up on the lower pin?
I swear that's where it was at in the beginning
Great vid- nice technique to use spreading the caliper pads- thanks.
hi can you explain about voice command and radar and and you can show how to program the door please
will i be able to move the wheels to adjust the parking brake adjuster? How can i do this without putting my car in neutral?
What are those bolts that you put "locktite" on called?
EXCELLENT VIDEO !!! PERFECT JOB !!
Any torque specs on the caliper bolts etc
What is the torque spec for the caliper bolt,?
I’d love to know if you found it
what are the torque specs for caliper bolt

Thank you for watching the video I’m glad it was helpful. I’m always working on those camera skills.

Facts Only This is one of my older videos I’ve invested in different camera mounts now. Thank you for watching!

Jose Leon sounds like the rotors and warped. I hove gotten bad ones right out of the box. You can send them back and get a fresh pair.
Awesome vid sir. Much thanks 🍻
my rear brake pin was sticking WAY out, almost hitting the wheel! is that normal? I tapped it back in but should I replace them?
potatochobit that does not sound normal I would take it apart and see if something came loose.
the little metal pin was not in place for some reason, I bent it and put it back in and will have to see if it stays or I need to order new set with brake pads.
What if the caliper won’t slide back and forth?

what bolt or part is that on 5:20 the one u greased up??? Mine broke off. do u have videos of changing that???

I was working on this today and I could not move the bolt that holds pads out at all even with the penetrant oil. Any help?

Timetryp maybe on certain cars but not this one
@@HowtoAutomotive Thanks...
I feel dizzy after watching this. Very helpful though!
How much should rotor replacement and new pads cost for 2006 IS 250 rear and front?
Jamie King I got an 06 and just got a drilled and spotted kit for 300 but they go for like 380 online.. rockauto has cheaper kits for like 180
I got front and rears from the factory for 415
Thank You!
Boljoint mark X
Cool
Thank you!
Upper clip removed at 2:56 not replaced at 9:11. I watched a couple of other vids and they don't even show an upper clip. WTF
