  • Today's is a slightly longer video, featuring some tips on how to get started working with resin miniatures and the handful of additional steps that'll make the whole process simple. Then it's on to the painting step where I experiment with Anvil Miniatures' resin "Regiments" line, mimicking a Death Korps of Krieg colour scheme I like! Skip in to 12 minutes to get straight to the painting.

The irony that resin is cheaper to make models with yet forgeworld charges a ton more for their models in comparison to their regular GW models.. whyyy I love me some Krieg..but I would be poor

It's a cheaper start-up, but more expensive long-term since resin molds wear out quickly.

A tip for people using washes, washes have a tendency to pool and create coffee stains, sometimes you want this to a degree but if not, this can easily be avoided by adding flow improver to your paint mix, if you don't have a specific bought flow improver, you can simply use a tiny bit of dishwashing liquid, its basically the same stuff, it reduces the tension of the liquid molecules? anyhow, it reduces the resistance of the liquid being able to flow on the surface and will dramatically reduce any chance of it pooling and staining.

Another idea for the eye sockets (for a tinted glass appearance) is Tamiya Acrylic "smoke" (#x-19.) I really like the dark, wet finish it gives, and would do very nicely here.

Really great looking figure! I never thought of putting a darker over a lighter shade but it really works out well.

The final result looks really great :D I just had to ask, what is that pewter model in the background? Also, its worth pointing out that when using resin, if sanding back or cutting, we should either sand it wet to minimise dust or to wear a dust mask as resin itself is toxic if breathed in.

I did a fantastic 6 pound canon and low and behold disaster I only dropped it just has I'd finished adding tone. it's stripped the paint on the wheel any ideas on how to repaire the paint work
    cheers

Do you use any breathing protection when assembling resin?

Only if I'm going to be using a file against anything, and even then I like to make sure I have a lot to do before pulling out the mask. Just a little, cheap, ordinary face filter will do the job, but if you're trimming with a knife or just gluing pieces together, you won't need anything like that.

To me resin is more similar to working with metal miniatures than plastic.

Could you make a tutorial of how you paint your kreigs? In the 143rd segment ? Aka the blue scheme

Honestly, I'd do them almost identically to the Warhammer TV tutorial! th-cam.com/video/Uy5J11kAws4/w-d-xo.html
I'd probably drybrush The Fang basecoat with a heavy run of Stormfang first, then do the leather before the Agrax Earthshade went on.

I dunno if you're still interested but TheApatheticFish has a DKoK painting tutorial from 2014 that comes out really, really well.

I’m relatively newer to the hobby than most so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt because I know it’s definitely easier said than done, but man I want GW to turn Krieg into plastic moulds so we can get more for cheaper. Hopefully not sacrificing detail of course.
