The whole "cannot use 3rd party resins or slicers" is an absolute dealbreaker. I don't care if the product is otherwise solid gold value. If you sell me a product, I own it. I really don't appreciate every company looking up to the closed ecosystems and subscriptions of Apple, HP, and Peloton.

    • @Gallagher068

And it better be solid gold if ti costs $1,400 USD for the printer, and $60 USD per kilogram of resin. I'll stick with my Elegoo printer, Sunlu resin, and Chitubox slicer

I think the price is a bigger deal breaker to me, it's a great looking printer with a great looking software but it's WILDLY expensive, you need to be a print farmer to cut even and even then it'll take years to pay itself off.
If you're not a youtuber getting the full spectrum for absolutely free it's just not meant for hobbyists at all.

Oof. I've had some extreme fears about my Rabbit getting gut stasis too. It's a terrifying thing.
And him being an "exotic pet" puts his veterinary care well outside my resources.
I'm glad you were able to get the care for your bun.
And to curb any judgements a little. My rabbit came from outside my house because people in a neighboring apartment complex have a habit of just releasing domestic animals into the local park. And I think it'd be much crueler to leave them out there where they no longer belong. He was not a planned for pet.

    • @OnceinaSixSide
      @OnceinaSixSide  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

Yeah the veterinary care is insane. Merry is the sweetest little shithead bunny that if he died I'd be so devastated, so I'm glad he's alive and well and back to his usual self but my god.. If this is a regular thing then I'm gonna need all the HeyGears sponsorships I can get 😅

As a company who wants to go to a proprietary eco system, your price point has to beat out the competition.
Otherwise it is a difficult get people to buy into an proprietary eco system.
Basically you need to offer the same or more for less.
Choice being a factor, people will tend to purchase non proprietary equipment within this market.
This market is very price conscious and looking for the "best bang for the buck"

Heygears makes really good looking product and for someone that doenst have time to sink into learning the ins and outs of resin printing, it might be ideal. However for me its concerning to see that they are setting up an ecosystem in which you can only use their resin for their printers. It's a bit too apple/modern ink printer energy for my tastes.

I'm more of a proponent of the rule of 3 when it comes to islands that aren't necessarily holding a lot of the mini's weight. My feeling on supports is that heavies are there to keep the model from pulling off of the build plate, and should be kept to spots you'll never see on the model whenever feasible. Bottoms of feet, insides of cloaks, etc. Medium supports are there to make sure parts don't warp, and light supports are there to make sure islands print. Having islands be supported by multiple smaller supports rather than just increasing the weight of supports has led to the best results in my experience. It is more time-consuming though, and I'd be a liar if I said I haven't just boosted the weight of my supports plenty of times because I was tired of getting failures and I just wanted it done.

You should definitely print some dark techno miniatures from “the makers cult” their priests, teslarite channellers/converters(electropriests), battle thralls(servitors) and Isopodis transport is some of the best proxies in the industry arguably better than GWs sculpts.
You should also check out their mantis pattern strider. The best ironstrider proxy!

I find maker’s cult to be really frustrating. The sculpts are awesome. Prices ain’t bad. But their site is painful, slow and half the filters don’t work. Presupports are obj so you’re doing it yourself from scratch if you want to alter them. Looks like they pulled down a bunch of mechanicus leader units that looked awesome but were unsupported and really difficult to do supports for.

What printer/resin would you recommend for newcomers with this year's new advancements with maybe a for best bang for your buck for a tabletop gamer & painter type and a best in class for tabletop gamer & painter type with possible newcomer friendliness tier as well depending on machine software ? Like these guys already have a super expensive printer with expensive peripherals and now they have extremely expensive resin. ALMOST $100 usd PER 1 L bottle!!
You are far better off getting a GKtwo for almost half the price of the Heygears and buying phrozen's $40 8k resin.
Literally nothing about their products appeal to me as a home 3d printer and I can't imagine they appeal to the etsy/storefront printers. Too much overhead. They should honestly pick a lane of either sticking with "industrial quality" or actually looking at what drives the home miniature printer to print (Hint, most of us left GW because of their price model).
If they actually want to break into the miniatures market (3d printing) than this is not the way to go about it. The main appeal of 3d printing to most is the price per model with customization as a close second. For the average 3d mini printer to really consider their device they need to do the following: 1. Release a cheaper "home grade" device (I think most home 3d printers will be willing to pay up to $700 for a really good home printer). 2. Get the price of that resin down. Most of my minis I can print with less than .25 cents of resin and Heygears is asking me to print with .50 -60 cents.

(it makes you get sick) its used in construction usually painters it is dirt cheap. I get it because its hard to get alcohol were I am and if you do its very expensive like 2-4 times the price of methylated spirits that does the same job.

Does Low Odor mean safer or are you stilll in terrible danger if you smell it? One of the biggest thing that keeps me from 3D printing is how toxic and dangerous it is

Looking a bit more into this company, they seem to be aimed at healthcare specialists, specifically dental and prosthetics.
Their website and bio-compatible resin line heavily implies this.
My guess is that they made using this printer so "dummy proof" as they expect those who aren't use to the technology to use it.
Also makes it easier for the help desk to provide aid when issues arise due to everything involved being their products.
I would avoid them as a hobbyist/miniature maker, but might be worth keeping an eye on if you are in the involved in the healthcare sector.

By the looks of it the Resin does look Brin. The 2 videos they sent you. The one that really bent was a model. That is going to just have greater Beta potential because of the way it's kind of structured.
I mean, what the guy was messing with the tongue. You didn't reallydelete bendit anywhere near as much as you dare do that tower. But honestly it looks halfway decent again.I'm not sure about the price i've seen a b s Like resin that seems to do a far more thorough job of being terrible in impact resistant

I watched your first video two days ago, and that's when I realized how bad pre-supported models are.
Since then, I've rate two creators at MINIRATER (I have it open as I'm writing this), "Flesh of gods miniatures" and "Claymore miniatures".
I gave both of them a B (Claymore miniatures would get even worse if I could).
My rating has being added but it doesn't show at the google sheet. I hope I did everything right.
Edit: What's the music at 3:30 called?

Great video. Could the issue with your bunny's gut been from eating the Heygears box? Maybe you should be blaming Heygears? I enjoy all your uploads and you are entertaining and I never lose interest as I watch.

wait, the printer costs $1,400?? a Saturn 3 12k is a thousand dollars cheaper????
that "ooh its great for beginners who don't want to mess with settings" marketing surrounding this printer seriously needs to go away cus clearly, my man Once in a six's stuff was worst than the company vids so...? yeah no way a beginner should buy this thing. its too expensive and it STILL needs a fine touch to get right like very other printer.

5 minutes cure time for such small miniatures is way too much, that's why they were so brittle

why in the world are you going crazy gluing the parts with superglue only? don't you know about baking soda + superglue?

Station forge files are absolute dog tamer. Never ever have I printed a stationforge presup file sucessfully. And I overexpose AFTER calibrating for tensile strength

  • @theo._.5593

maybe the brittle aspect is due to an overexposing ? I know you know your shit but maybe this resin need a less longer curing time idk

in order to really understand what you're getting at here, i need to know whether your fragile prints were a fluke, or the norm. cause their video and your video simply do not look like the same resin.

5 minute cure time?!? Dude, ANYTHING is going to be brittle is you cure it for 5 minutes. Do a new video on the best table top resin and test out different cure times for all of them.

Here man, build up a base of non sponsored critique before you start taking the cash. I know it's tempting, but the ratio is off on your content. You're more an infomercial than anything else at this point.
