    I’m totally backseat driving watching this. “Dan, go just a little farther. I want to see the wall at the end of the tunnel. Maybe they left a little ore. No Dan. Turn the camera to the right a little. I think I saw evidence of the vein they were following.” I just love videos like this. I could watch hours of this.

    Amazing seeing a mine not running with water - is dry and you can just brush the dust off (writing from England)

    Very fascinating video series of the early mining days. Thanks for taking us into them and letting us see how the old miners made a living. Nice lightning photos.

    The bats are awesome; just have to be mindful of the white nose disease caused by fungus that humans can accidentally carry into caves and mines. Elley, you and Dan are awesome adventurers. Be careful out there, you sillies.

      What we were told here in oregon is that to prevent the spread of the fungus was too make sure after visiting a cave to wash everything we took with us thoroughly, shoes included before entering another cave. If we were hitting more than one cave in a day was to change clothes and shoes before entering another one. Makes sense, hate to see our bat population struggle so much. When I was a kid I could see so many bat's at night, however that isn't the case anymore.

    Really enjoyed this one Ellie. Those miners really took a lot of dirt out of that mountain. Hopefully they made pay off profit -wise as moving that much material takes a ton of time & effort, & even at the time this was probably dug they had to pay someone’s wages …… 😐. Anyway awesome as always . I had to wonder though at about the middle of this video when you were wearing the hat and came upon that one area where it looked like someone had put the words “ Sex cave “ up on the rock over that little grotto looking opening. Most assured most miners were Male …. Don’t really want to know what kind of Sex they were having in there …..😬😆😉. C-ya on your next adventure, and stay safe 😎👍

    If youre ever in the Marysvale area I can direct you to some great spots to collect a wide variety of mineral specimens. Check out the Henry Mining District. Though the terrain is pretty rough. It's paradise if you enjoy hiking. Many of the mines have been blasted shut bit there are a few you can enter. Many of these mines contain Uranium minerals, and Radon gas. They require gear to enter and explore. There's no shortage of amazing rocks scattered on the surface around the entire area though

    Ok first time I've heard bats described as adorable lol. This was an azurite mine so was this just an indicator mineral and the ultimate target copper? Also, what is the host rock and how does it vairy? Thanks for your hard work.

    • @garrettmillsap
      @garrettmillsap 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would say that the target was copper for sure. Most likely also had some minor gold and possibly silver as well

    Sounds like your good friend is tired of being your partner on these adventures…just a vibe from this video.
    Nice work.
    Please wear a mask in there, look at all the particulate matter in the sight of the floodlight- that’s in your lungs now, fyi.
