I'm going to use pretty much the exact setup you demo'd on my farm to lay out horse fencing and arena work. Literally would not be possible without you guys!! This might be the best product you've released!
I’m not a surveyor but this is something that would be useful for environmental technicians when we’re plotting sample grids in the field! I may look into just buying one to make my life easier since they’re affordable enough and the accuracy is more than adequate!
I'd really like to use this for static or rapid static observations in addition to occasional RTK since a lot of my work involves conventional surveying with my total station. Gonna look into it further.
Receiving the L2 signal is one thing... Getting a fix in an unobstructed parking lot also... Now in real world we have multipath, I'm curious about how the ublox chip is capable of handling those more realistic scenarios....
@@trollenz agreed. That would be interesting to see. By the way, I’m currently using another relatively inexpensive GPS receiver (Polaris S100) along with Microsurvey Field Genius running on a cheap android tablet. hi there.. my main concern is, can we configure it using android phone? like entering previous coordinates on the base in case of returning back on previous survey area?
i do hope app such Survey Master, Nuwa, and other survey app will work on this. these are very important features we need as land surveyor 1. can apply base shift or point correction so we can use local grid coordinates system 2. can stake out points
I have two of this same products. One as a rover and other as a base station. But I found some difficulties connecting the rover. How do we know the base statin is talking to the rover. Whom do I contact to clarify this doubts ?
Looks like an amazing product! Congrats to the design team. Instead of using a radio to transmit the differential signal, how about using 2 lora nodes that operate in the licence free ism band. Yes it will be much slower, but without the need for a radio license
You can use one by itself as a rover module, but using a second one as a base module in conjunction with the rover will yield greater accuracy. I won't be able to get a hookup video done in the near future, but there's a solid hookup guide here learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/sparkfun-rtk-surveyor-hookup-guide/all

It would be nice to know if this device could be configured to do non-RTK surveys via collecting raw data. It would be sweet if a button could be configured to start a raw collect and then pressed again to stop the collect. Each collect being stored to an sd card in ubx format for post processing. Quite often RTK is just not worth the hassle or possible.
