Lisa I love watching you & learning. I watch some over & over. My problem is consistent . I love trying things & will keep trying until I get it right!! Thank you again!!!
Absolutely beautiful. I love the 3 pieces together. I think the black cell activator gives a great contrast to the softer blues etc. Appreciate the many tidbits of information you share and I very rarely fast forward through any of your videos as I don’t want to miss anything. 🤗
I just finished a paint session with Golden black ca and I am totally frustrated with it. Went to bed and opened up YT and this was at the top. Perfect. Thank you.
I love them! All three. I have all the colors so I just might try this. I always say that to your paintings and to Jodi’s paintings but it NEVER looks no where near what your do. I really enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing.
Would love to see your Paynes Grey CA compared to these blacks……..and whatever other dark CA’s you use. This is great, thank you again Lisa. And your Blue Heron sort of looks like a dark periwinkle. When I was itty bitty, my bedroom was periwinkle. And I still love the color, I’m 2 weeks shy of 62…………..yes, on Christmas Eve.
Love the colors! Beautiful!! Thank you for doing this experiment. I also find black cell activator finicky. I have tried several brands of black paint. But I have not broken down and bought the Australian Flotrol yet.
I’m Australian, I live in Australia, I have floetrol readily available. So why every time I mix Amsterdam and flo 4 to 1 I get the consistency of water. Not creamy at all . I see you all mix and I never get that consistency . So I thicken it more. So confusing. 🤔
Love the colors! Beautiful triptych for sure! I have never used lamp black (pretty sure that’s what you said lol) I have always used oxide black. I completely agree black is finicky when used as a cell activator, I have much better luck when I mix it at a 3:1 ratio. You mentioned the lamp black seemed thicker so maybe the oxide is best at a 3:1 ratio 🤷♀️ anyway gorgeous work as usual!👍👍
@@lisamarvinart right, that’s what I am saying I have better luck when it’s thicker so I mix it at 3:1 ratio. You had said the lamp black seemed thicker and I think it produced better results in your experiment so perhaps if people are seeing finicky results with the oxide they could see if a thicker ratio helps. 😂 it’s been a long day not sure this comment makes anymore sense then my first one.
Lisa, they all turned out amazing. Do you think the cells were tighter with Lamp Black because it was thicker? I saw on my monitor that the Lamp Black is softer in color than the Oxide Black? Did you see that also? I love that color from Benjamin Moore, I haven't gotten any of their paints yet! Thank you for doing the side by side on the Amsterdam paints. Would you consider doing it again with the Matisse Black and the M Graham? Would be cool to see dried results of all of them to compare!👏🥰👍🏼❤️
All 3 are beautiful, love your vines so much. Thanks for doing this experiment as I have been using Atelier Mars Black and really don’t like it as it seems to take over too much. Just about to order some Amsterdam paints so I will definitely go for the Lamp Black.
I've been following your bloom recipe for the blooms with either tricorn black or Glidden essentials eggshell... I love the idea of using different colors though is there a rule of thumb or can I kind of just get any old color house paint as a pillow?
They all three came out very nice. They are beautiful. The colors altogether came out very nicely. But I do think that the lamb made more define cells.
Gorgeous color combo! Yep, I’m going to “borrow” those colors. LOL! Question: When mixing Prussian Blue with the interference you say it’s TLP sequins, but when layering the paints you say it’s TLP comet. I’m pretty sure the label said sequins but not certain. Do you know which one you used? Thanks so much!
My goodness !! This is so gorgeous!! Hope I can make one as pretty as yours one day !!😊😌 Question: why do you use these wooden boards instead of plain canvases?? Do you use them for something else than hanging them on a wall ? TIA and have a nice sunday !
Another winner Lisa. All three are stunning. I loved the comet mixed with the paynes. Absolutely gorgeous. Have you had your heating fixed? Are the truck drivers still on strike?
I personally like the lamp black best! I think that the opaque paints as cell activators produce a much more consistent result. I really love how the colors worked together
Gorgeous blooms, but I wish you’d done a side by side of the 2different cell activator blooms, so we could compare them. I can’t tell you which one I prefer.
When I was in Shelee's class at pourcone, she had a black cell activator. I don't know which one she used but when I was finished blowing it out and it dried with really deep lines of the black. More so than her white. Does that mean I didn't blow it out enough or was the black thicker that the white?
Hi Lisa! I love this and wanted to ask you a question since you mix many of your own colors. Have you ever mixed a paynes grey? In a pinch, when you don't have it on hand....it would be good to have some type of recipe. Thanks!
Wow that is GORGEOUS the colors are amazing ❤
Excellent result, I absolutely love them. That pillow colour is really unique. You do such a great job of explaining and inspiring Lisa!

Love the colors! Beautiful!! Thank you for doing this experiment. I also find black cell activator finicky. I have tried several brands of black paint. But I have not broken down and bought the Australian Flotrol yet.
Oo so worth it :)
Beautiful ring 💍 s
You had me at “measure” 😍❤️🌹🤣😂
😂 wasn’t I so scientific 😂
Jodie from The Painted Dreamer has used Jo Sonja Black Umber and even Mattise before. I've tried the M Graham and love it!
Yup those work too!
gorgeous
Thank you!
Think I like the lamp black best
Me too!
Love it
Thank you!
This is absolutely stunning!! I am so impressed by your work, im a new subscriber as well as just learning this technique.
Aw thank you!
They are gorgeous, love the colours. Love oxide and lamp black. I use black mostly. I find white finicky. What brand Payne’s grey do you use?
Amsterdam :)
I’m Australian, I live in Australia, I have floetrol readily available. So why every time I mix Amsterdam and flo 4 to 1 I get the consistency of water. Not creamy at all . I see you all mix and I never get that consistency . So I thicken it more. So confusing. 🤔
I didn't catch what you used for the pillow...I love the color! And what brand is it? Thanks!
Thank you! Yes so finicky! So if you want to thin it, the ratio would be more like 5:1, 3:1 would make it thicker :)
@@lisamarvinart right, that’s what I am saying I have better luck when it’s thicker so I mix it at 3:1 ratio. Yes I think so. Maybe oxide would be better 3:1 but it already looked so aggressive 😂 I can definitely do another comparison!
All 3 are beautiful, love your vines so much. Thanks for doing this experiment as I have been using Atelier Mars Black and really don’t like it as it seems to take over too much. Just about to order some Amsterdam paints so I will definitely go for the Lamp Black.
Thank you! Hope you find a good one!
Absolutely Twisted Art
JoSonja works as a Activater
Awesome
I've been following your bloom recipe for the blooms with either tricorn black or Glidden essentials eggshell... I love the idea of using different colors though is there a rule of thumb or can I kind of just get any old color house paint as a pillow?
Sherwin Williams in any colour always works! Might have to then the lighter ones
Thank you❤❤
They all three came out very nice. They are beautiful. The colors altogether came out very nicely. But I do think that the lamb made more define cells.

It was sequins 😊
It was sequins! Sorry 😂 they are both similar and I love them both 😂
My goodness !! This is so gorgeous!! Hope I can make one as pretty as yours one day !!😊😌 Question: why do you use these wooden boards instead of plain canvases?? Do you use them for something else than hanging them on a wall ? TIA and have a nice sunday !
I use wood for the hard surface :)
Another winner Lisa. All three are stunning. I loved the comet mixed with the paynes. Absolutely gorgeous. Have you had your heating fixed? Are the truck drivers still on strike?
Thank you! Heat is fixed!! Truck drivers still striking 😂
@@lisamarvinart Hooray! Thank God, you finally have heating back. Love to you and family ♥️💐💐💐

Oh good one! I will do a mixing video!
I love the lamp black but I mix it 3:1 ❤️
