I bought this model back in 2017 and been using it mostly for drawing and music creation. Now, one week ago, I bought the 2021 12.9 model but returned it already because I still prefer my 2017 one. Yes, the screen was pretty cool and there's a lot of power but most apps work just as well. What I just couldn't get over was the weight of the new one being about 50 grams more in a tighter package and less space to grab onto. It was a heft that restricted me in my general use and which I had never before experienced on my 2017 model. Also the sharp edges seemed to cut into my hands. I missed the rounded back edges. This one is also better for drawing because your palms don't push the edge quite as often, so it's more like a drawing board. So holding on to this one until they release a better design. Still a beast.

Fun Fact: The Apple TV 4K uses that exact A10X found in the iPad Pro 2nd gen, which is why the ATV4K is actually very capable of playing even the more demanding Apple Arcade titles. If you have an ATV4K and Apple Arcade I highly recommend Shinsekai Into The Depths, looks great on the big screen.

I’m watching this on my iPad Pro 12.9 2nd gen with 256gb storage. It’s a fantastic machine very fast for everything I do, the screen is very bright and clear and 120hz refresh makes using it a joy. I have the cellular model which means I can use it on the go without a tether.

Just got mine in the mail today. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhcEDB3r-OJ3_X5hQzr7k1ZofTQy1ao_U The corners of the box was a little smashed but I think that’s more of the shipping’s fault. iPad was in perfect condition though. I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.

I have had my 12.9 inch 2nd gen for 2 years now and just upgraded to the 11 inch 2nd gen. The 12.9 is a great iPad but it is slowing down and stuttering a lot for me. But it’s the perfect streaming device and can still do some decent gaming. I would recommend if you need a big iPad for a low price and don’t mind an older and slower device that isn’t as capable of doing high end tasks like video editing anymore. This isn’t a knock at its performance, as it’s still more than fast enough for basic tasks like web browsing and streaming.

I am shocked that the 2017 pro model runs a little bit smoother than my iPad Air 3. I am not sure whether it is due to pro motion or not. I tried to convince my mom to use my iPad Air 3 . Thanks for the video. It makes me feel less envious of my sisters iPad Pro 2018. 🥴
I have the iPad Pro 2nd gen with a Logitech slim combo keyboard so have $$$ invested in this in addition the the huge price I paid. So will live with the Pencil with it’s wonky charging/syncing.
That said, I still love my iPad Pro and all of the recent updates to OS have made it more dear to me. It has taken on many of the tasks I used to accomplish on my laptop. Still looking for an iPad app that writes out music the way my old program does on my laptop but so far all have fallen short in one aspect or another.
Once the Pencil is linked, it stays charged a long time and I use it more for fine editing of music and videos. You can zero in on a cut so much easier and quicker. My slim combo case has a ‘sleeve’ for the Pencil so stores it right on my iPad (in the same place the new Pencil sits on later version tablet).

I recently switched from the 2017 Pro to the 2018 11” Pro and the second gen Pencil is amazing. The awkward charging of the first gen never bothered me and I also never lost the cap, but length and slightly slippery surface of it did. The second gen one is the perfect size and weight for writing, the matte finish feels amazing and the charging is pretty convenient as well. If you plan to use the Pencil a lot, I say go for a never Ipad Pro just because of the newer Pencil alone

You can get the 10.2 inch ipad with the apple pencil. However, I have tried the apple keyboard without the trackpad, on my ipad air 3 a year ago, and the keystrokes didn't feel good and as much as I remember there is no back protection on ipad with the apple keyboard, no backlighting either, build quality is good, and with a price of about 17k in India, it ain't worth it. If you intend on using microsoft office apps for free, then get the older ipad 9.7 or the mini because all ipads more than 10.1 inch cannot use office editing apps and subcription costs over inr 300 a month.

I do agree if you are on a budget and planing to take some design classes in drawing or lettering or what ever you prefer the 2nd gen is amazing. I started my design business one year ago and I was on a low budget to start I did a lot of work on my MacBook Air 2014 and once I collected some cash I am now using the 2017 MacBook Pro and iPad Pro and the amount of work I do on these two bad boys they are amazing. I now do have the budget to get everything new but honestly I dont think its that of a difference I am gonna use them for about 2 years more and then sell them and get everything new

Last month Oct 2020 l bought the 12.9 iPad Pro cellular version 2020 I love it the 4 speakers are great and it should last me a few years like my old iPad Air 2 did and my new iPad Pro is lighter then my original iPad 4 Which are used to carry around a lot. 😁😁
The iPad Pro 2020 is Much better than the new iPad Air 4 In my humble opinion.

Would be so cool to see Logi releasing a combo touch keyboard scaled up for the 12.9" iPad Pro 1st and 2nd Gen. But I can see that why they're not doing it since, the new iPad Air is of the same form factor of the old iPad Pro so they made one for the old 10.5 iPad Pro(quad speaker cutouts) so that it also supports the iPad Air 3. But that's not the case with this iPad. It's so big, it has the best software keyboard and all those are asking for a keyboard case with trackpad.

I would say a major draw back for the 2nd gen 12.9 pro vs the 2nd gen 10.5 pro is that, while the 10.5 is basically the same size as the newer 11 pro, the 2nd gen 12.9 pro is significantly bigger than the newer 12.9 pros due to the larger bezels.

Great vids, Noah. And to think I almost handed off my Gen 2 to my fiance' and almost dropped the money for a new one. My only concern is that rumor is Apple won't be supporting it much longer. Thoughts? Last question: Can you recommend an external HD for it? Must have accessories that will work with the 2nd Gen to make transferring video files easier? My new job includes shooting 4K video (insurance investigations), and editing, and messing around with my 2nd Gen, it seems to work fine (as you just demonstrated).

I need advice: I have all Apple products (all space gray)- and my iPad Pro 12.9 Gen 1 battery life was going, couldn’t get anything more than maybe 1-2 hours max out of it- so I took it to the Apple store and they said they can’t replace iPad batteries,
So they gave me a band new one (but I had to pay $104 since I didn’t have warranty on my last one)- I just picked it up from the Apple store this past Friday (October 23, 2020), brand spankin new- I also bought the Apple Pencil gen 1 exactly 2 weeks ago today and my 2 iPad cases and the Apple Pencil keys are brand new as well.
Now here’s where I need the advice....
Apple literally ONLY had silver left- that’s it. And I don’t like it. It’s just not what I wanted at all, especially because I had to pay $104 for it since I didn’t have the warranty, or else I would’ve gotten it for free.....so I was thinking about selling it all and getting the new iPad Air 2020........since everything is literally BRAND NEW, I was going to sell for $600 total- $550 being the lowest....is this a fair price for everything? Is it too much? Too low?.....I was looking up the same exact iPad on Amazon and even used ones are being sold for like $580 up to $700.....so I figured $550 to $600 isn’t bad at all,
Especially since evening is brand new compared the used/renewed ones on Amazon....so thoughts?? Please help!😭 I just don’t want to sell it for an unfair price or lowball myself which would then be unfair to me....I could really use a second opinion!! What do I do?

Im running 13.4.1 with packix & twickd tweaks. Revealed the iCaughtU tweak to some peds, they could not believe their eyes! Tall order for an actual .ipa for TouchID Remote SMS/Email invalidated notifications exists now, all the way down here, in South Africa. This device is leagues ahead of time! There has been no Handheld Computer-esque device which has given iPad a run for its money. Sure it derives from the PenPal or the Microsoft Slate, but it is far evolved in under 10 years!

Then I'm not buying it. That money can be worth a surface book even if it's more expensive but it does better than an iPad with a keyboard and more RAM and CPU. iPads only runs the iPad version of the apps instead of the desktop version of these apps.
