Why didn't you finish how it works and what's inside? I am trying to check it at the PCM connector. I get a purely open signal. But if this is just a mechanical, magnet actuated switch, then open could be normal. The tach did move slightly the last time I cranked it. '97 F-250 diesel.

take off the IH from the part number. I found one on Amazon just searching 1876735C91.
