I got prebuilt with this APU in it and it's great. It's on a Gigabyte a520m ds3h AC. I've also read that it works on 520 boards with a bios update, however some bios will report it as a different Ryzen APU name, but rest assured, if the seller where you purchased this from is reliable, it's simply the bios getting the name wrong.
I use a 4650g@BCLK 105.2 boosts to 4515 MHz. RAM 4133 CL 16-16-16-16-32-48 1T@ 1.5V. As GPU 5700xt @2080Mhz 1.10V. Board Asus Prime B550m-a. This cpu is a killer. With fast RAM and Timings you get a huge increase on Min-FPS. Love this APU. Max 78 Watts @ OCCT AVX2 Burntest. CB20 Single 516 and Multi 3978. Let you say OC on that CPU is so easy @ Stock Voltages.

July 31st 2022 Just picked this up 6 weeks ago, now discontinued so going for £120 GBP($150) maybe less if you shop around. It's replaced my 3400G which has served me well for the last 2 years. installed on an MSI B450 PRO motherboard, though I needed to update my BIOS, do this BEFORE you get rid of your older APU as the BIOS need uipdating while a APU is present. Will keep this for approx 2 years the pick up a 5700G...so my roadmap for the next few years is pretty clear. Great review. HOPE THIS 2022 Update helps..!
I've been using this cpu, running smooth. Dota 2, gta v, fps games & also I edited 1080p videos too. It runs really well, worth my money during these times.
Still undecided between 3600 and 4650g Pro. Does L3 32mb cache and 8mb will have a huge impact between these 2 cpu? I'm planning to get 4650g Pro since it's available here and I'm just planning to get a 1660super later on this year since it's too pricey as of the moment. But I'm thorn between this L3 32mb cache that 3600 has and I have no idea if that plays a big role in comparison for both of these Can you guys help me out with this?
You said in the video that B450 boards might not work. Is that still the case? I've been looking around and some boards like the B450 Aorus Elite have "Ryen 5000, 4000, 3000, 2000, 1000 compatibility" in their product description.
@@AnandKu44 Ahm...yes. I figured that out myself after buying. I needed to use my old 1800x first to update the BIOS which was a pain (since I needed to use the thermal paste twice) but in the end it worked out. Its just not how it usually works and people who do not have a second CPU are screwed or forced to pay higher prices so that you get the motherboard with the newest BIOS version.
@@godofredo0409 don't get me wrong, the cpu is awesome but the integrated graphics will only get you so far. For AAA games, if you want decent framerates and medium/high settings, a discrete gpu is a must.
@@espertempo I do agree. Having a dedicated gpu is a must if you really are a hardcore gamer. But I only play casually. and just hitting 40fps to 60fps is already good enough for me. I don't need ultra high performance. By the way, having atleast 40fps+ for me is my own definition of "decent" . and most games I am hitting that mark,so makes me contented.

It's worth it if you don't need more than the integrated graphics. The 1650 Super is much faster for gaming than the integrated graphics on the 4650g, so the 4650g is not the best option for some gamers.
Tech Notice, a video i thoink would be interesting is seeing how much these bottleneck high end GPU like the 5700xt, as that card is better than the mobile 2080, and better sometines than the desktop 2080(non super) I want to know, and many probably question, weather a 4900hs does actually bottleneck a 2070 max Q or 2080. Before someone comments that the 5700xt is PCIe4.0 so it wont be bottlenecked by a PCIe 3.0 nvidia card, remember, unlike Zen2 non APUs, all of the APUs only have PCIe 3.0, and if he has a 2080/2080TI i encourage the benchmark, but a 5700xt is affordable if he doesnt already have them

@@JS-gf2tr Honestly, this APU is not designed for AAA titles and you will definitely need a dedicated GPU to enjoy the gameing but as a content creator and a Photoshop user this APU is more than enough to work with. Also, you can run Fortnite with 50 to 60 fps and League of legends with more than 150 fps at 1080p.
I recommended this processor to my brother with the iGPU as a stopgap for a dedicated graphics card. It's €220 compared to the R5 3600 which is €200 so that's a great deal. He's fine playing games at 1080p low/med at 60fps untill he has an RTX3000 card.

Hello everyone, anyone tried to enable and use the iGPU on this CPU together with a discreet graphics card? I'm planning to have a multiseat build for light gaming, I already have an old gtx 660 and I have no idea if it would work with the igpu so 2 users can play some old games on this cpu.
it says on amd website that the cpu does not support overclocking but i was able to overclock it on gigabyte's app center to 4.3ghz at all cores if i try to tweak the voltages to get higher clocks will that hurt the chip or not
*It all depends on the BRAND & TYPE ! For example, the Ryzen 4650G works on my ASRock B450 Pro4 motherboard* ( with bios v4.20 ) And some has it working on some MSI, ASUS, and Gigabyte B450/X470 boards. Just go to your motherboard brand's website, and look for their CPU/APU "supported" list !

Buy Aorus Pro Wifi. It's totally worth the inbuilt wifi Bluetooth and the type c port actually fast charge your phone.

Yes, 4600G and 4650G are the same chip, just 4650G have some enterprise functions that 4600G doesn't have. you shouldn't worry about lack of them

The question is is the apu better quality than the 710 graphics? The 710 has 2gig support what does the on board graphics support?
Just install 16x2 3600 Mhz RAMs and increase the VRAM in the BIOS

*It all depends on the BRAND & TYPE ! For example, the Ryzen 4650G works on my ASRock B450 Pro4 motherboard* ( with bios v4.20 )
And some has it working on some MSI, ASUS, and Gigabyte B450/X470 boards. Just go to your motherboard brand's website, and look for their CPU/APU "supported" list !
