    Thanks for making these videos! I just my S 85D and am very happy with it. I can't stop making excuses to take a drive :) Watching your experiences definitely contributed to the decision!

    Thanks for sharing your trip with us. I enjoyed the video of the tours you took, as well as of the countryside, very much! You had some really life-like, fantastic video. Not the posed, fake-looking kind of video you see people make sometimes. (I am sorry for being late in watching this. I had been looking forward to it, ever since you posted Part 1, but I've been 'under the weather', again.) I love your videos and having Ammery with you, just makes them even better! Oh, what a gentleman you are! Carrying Ammery across the muddy/wet field puts you in a class above the norm. :) The older couple you met at the Supercharger in France, with the little dog, were so cute. They remind me of my neighbors. lol

    Crazy long leg back home again! ^^ You revealed your home address on the GPS there (but you probably don't care). You ought to credit your wife at the end also for sticking along on these insane road trips. :) Some really nice shots with the cherry blossoms and some cool music during the night driving. Keep it up!

    Hi. Great video. Thanks.
    About 3 phase inverter. Between solar panels and batteries is charge controller. And inverter goes between batteries and 230/400V sockets. inverter inverts DC current into AC and step up voltage. :)

    yeah, sprayed on water repellent is a must. On highway speed, no wipers needed. Makes driving in the rain so much safer! Thx for sharing!

    Hi Bjorn and Amaree :-)
    Love your videos, your humor and your humility. Not to mention the great shots of Europe, and of course THE MILLENIUM FALCON.
    Slip streaming behind large vehicles.
    Can you please do a video on how best to slip stream and polite practices.
    As a semi driver here in Australia I see so many people behind me doing it wrong.
    They are either too close, or too far away.
    My biggest problem is slip streaming drivers not letting me as the driver in front know that they are still there after going past a turn off. I.E Pull out a little from behind my trailers so I can see they haven't turned off, this means I can moderate braking to give them as the slip streaming driver a chance to brake since they often can't see what is happening in front of them.
    As a Professional driver I believe it is my job to look after everyone on the road around me as well as myself.
    In this video you gave a brief shot of you following a bus to save mileage (A bit too far back in my opinion) Can you please do a video explaining slip streaming ?
    Cheers
    Mick

    Hi from Spain!! ;)
    First of all... I love all your videos XD The car seems fantastic, I'm in love with it since I 've seen it on Geneva Auto Show this year... I wish I could drive one!!
    Ok, I write you for tell you that a liquid product exist which you can empty on windshield and water is repelled, so you will have no drops and it is possible a safe driving. This product is selling in normal supermarkets.
    Now, if problem going back again, you can solve it ;)
    I hope I've been help for you. Sorry if you knew this before.
    Hugs!! And... You can enjoy Spain with a lot of beautyfull roads (Asturias is the best zone xD)

    Such an upvotable road trip.
    I actually sat down and did the math. you traveled 714 kilometers per day on this trip. In comparison to 670 per day in the BMW and 421 kilometers per day in your first European road trip.
    Not sure if apples to apples comparison, but still mildly interesting. If anyone honestly cares.

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michael Moses Wow, that's impressive. I traveled further in the Tesla than the BMW. It just shows that for long distance driving, you need to stop for food and rest anyways. Last year's trip had low kilometers because of slow chargers.

    • @michaelmoses8745
      @michaelmoses8745 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bjørn Nyland
      You did NOT travel further in the Tesla than the BMW. You traveled more kilometers per day. Your total driving distance was less. If you had traveled for more time, you could have traveled further in both per day and absolute terms.

    Tesla should include camper mode in the next update. Come to think of it, you guys could use in-built microwave and a small fridge, model III should have it optinally. Nice to see you enjoy driving so much, if you will use supercharger in Ljubljana, while you chase 1 mil km, contact me for local info

    What was the issue with the Windscreen Wipers? Motor defect or a blown Fuse?

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Florian Schmid I have no idea what it was. But it's working fine now. It was fixed for free, even though the warranty ran out after 100k km. In Norway we have an extended "warranty" that is independent on mileage. That applies to anything from mobile phones to PC, washing machines, clotes, etc.

      @Zoli1972s 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Bjørn Nyland Today, I played all your videos you've made since January, one-by-one. When I got to the teaser of the Europe road trip and to the scene, where you say "the Millenium Falcon is bleeding out", and that you're somewhere stuck and it's holiday there, (and I saw the windshield wiper thing before) I was thinking "what the heck? Will be some additional issue coming up there?" and "How can Bjørn get back home, when the Falcon breaks down?". Couldn't wait to get to Part 2 to see, how the trip ends. I was soo happy, to see, you didn't have something serious or something additional on your way back, and it was a happy end. Nice video with some tension built-in :-).

    At 59:25 you went over 400 miles on a charge, they are only rated for up to 300, is that possible that you went that far? Or is it a typo

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adam Dorety I didn't go that far in a single charge. I just accumulated several stops (as the video shows). It's not very interesting to see all the supercharging stops anymore.

  • @RubenKelevra

  • @pHD77
    @pHD77 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Bjørn Nyland How much of a difference would you say there is between the estimated kilometer range shown on your screen after a full charge and the actual kilometers driven? Are we talking 80 % or something like that?

  • @bmkster
    @bmkster 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So the windscreen wiper was fixed easily by tesla in the end? Also, out of curiosity, since you always use typical range on the display, do you find that it is most accurate that way to calculate the route instead of seeing a bigger range figure and seeing it drop quicker?

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Brian Mok Tesla fixed the wiper motor when we came back home. I prefer typical because I'm so used to it. And in Norway, typical will in many situations be very close to my real consumption. Usually I consume about 200 Wh/km and typical is 188 Wh/km.

    How much of a percentage do you add to your charging? Is it 30% or more?

    • @bjornnyland

      Ray Bevins In Norway, 10 % more. In Sweden/Denmark and most other European countries, 30-40 % more. In Germany, 70 %.

      zoidberg444 The large beer cans are called Faxe and we call it "hobos death" in Germany for a good reason - it's bad taste ;) The 5 Liter can-barrels are drinkable, you can have them from many different brands.

    I hate to say it but its getting kind of boring (in a good way) with all the Superchargers in Europe now. No more struggling trying to find slower chargers to get enough charge to get to the next Supercharger. It's simply leap fogging between Superchargers. You probably need to make a trip to the North of England and Scotland as there is only one Supercharger here at the moment :-)

    G'Day Bjorn. I was just watching a TechnoBuffalo video:
    th-cam.com/video/CDcKwDy8c58/w-d-xo.html
    on the Tesla Model 3 (supposedly) and noticed what appears to be a snipped section of one of your videos, and added it to theirs (driving through a tunnel, with the blue lights shining on the roof). I'm not sure if they have your permission to use it, but I thought you had better know (just in case it has been stolen). Cheers, Greg.
    I'm not accusing anyone of anything, just bringing this to your attention.
