Now an owner of a blue Model3 LR AWD for a year. Loving the car to bits. If you don't know for sure an Electric car is good for you...get your assss in a seat. Been bingewatching Tesla-Bjørn for a few days now. I love this video especially because in the driving parts you can see wind mills so often. Wind mills that probably powered your tesla. :) That is just awesome. Hope the shift towards renewables does not come too late.
Took a test drive this past Thursday. Model X wasn't available for driving, but the S P90DL more than made up for it. There was an X in the showroom that I was able to check out. Frankly I'm amazed you can get in the 3rd row and sleep in the back - I could barely get in and the 2nd row tried to fold me up when they moved back into place :-| (6'2" or thereabouts; 188cm?)
Well after 26 Road trip videos, I hate to say it but, I have one small criticism. This could have been 1:30 min long if there were more scenic scenes added in. I miss those. otherwise another great video and another epic journey. That kid and the TB thsirt was awesome. He should sell those online. keep it up.
Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately I had a tight schedule on this trip. And the roads I drove wasn't suitable for driveby shots with the camera on a tripod. And my route didn't involve too interesting landscape. But point taken :)
It would be very interesting to see a future test to show much autopilot/autosteer radars impacts on energy consumption compared to no radar on the same test circuit you do. As newer models come online and autopilot improves, this will be an interesting baseline to compare against.
Bjorn, maybe you should get you car wrapped with one of those invisible wraps. It will help protect the paintwork against all those bugs and you be able to use a sponge to clean the car without scratching the paintwork.

I too have a volt/ampera. And a medal 3 on order. I think that it is the best car o bridge the gap until the 3 is ready. Good price mostly electric and long range.
how do you secure luggage/bags and stuff in the trunk in case of a crash or a hard brake when you have the third row folded down (with 6 seat conf.)?. i dont know if you secure your luggage, but is there any accessoies for that?
Not sure why you keep switching back and forth between energy and range? On my Model S, I've been using energy since pretty much day one because I didnt like the range number changing with a big difference to the real world. As the 85 kWh pack has a useable capacity of 76.5 kWh, there's a 10% deep discharge protection. If that works for the 90 kWh pack as well, the absolute ideal useable capacity would be 81 kWh. Based on this knowledge, it's really easy to "eyeball" the range based on your personal driving style. (Like, 10% are 8.1 kWh, at 200 W/km that's 40 km...). For me it works out much better than rated or typical.
Units in google maps are in km. Distance signs by the roads are in km. GPS distance are in km. Everything is km. So it makes sense to use km. What I do is to multiply with a factor based on estimated consumption for that leg. Percentage doesn't say much because signs, google maps, etc doesn't show distance in percentage.
Ok, so essentially you do a similar thing as I just based on the indicated range. :) Good to know. Would be cool to have an option to have range displayed with a user-enterable custom W/km value rather than the preset typical or rated values.
Bjorn, as I see your efficiency numbers. How is the X actually reaching it's projected rated range? Maybe I am doing the math wrong, but 454Wh/mile when you are averaging 50mph = 132 miles for a 60kWh battery. Am I adding it wrong?

I am a bit of a introvert except at work which odly enough i have no issue being outgoing but in my personal life i tend to be very introverted. Being approached by random people all the time would get nerve racking to me.
