    FYI, regarding the unresponsive brakes issue that you attributed to ice, it was actually a (now fixed) bug introduced in a recent firmware version where people were able to shift from park to drive while the car was essentually still fully booting up - normally you wouldn't be able to switch to drive until the boot sequence was finished.
    So what was actually happening when the brakes "didn't work" is that the brake-boost hadn't been booted up, so you were left with only non-boosted manually-controlled brakes which to use require pushing *hard* on the brake pedel.
    You can find much more information on the issue on Tesla Motors Club.

    Damn you, Bjorn, you do half of my cars yearly declared km's in SINGLE WEEKEND!
    BTW based on fact that you've traveled around 110.000 km, average fuel price was about 1.8€/L, your charging is mostly free you've saved about 16.000€ in fuel alone! That's almost the price of something like a base model of Opel Astra....
    @17:30 These were used like 10 years ago in Poland (together with permanent middle rear seat arm rest) to "convert" passenger cars to "trucks" that were eligible for VAT tax refund as the law said "rigid divider between passenger and cargo area + maximum 4 seats" :) They actually decreased car functionality and I recall every time we needed to use our car to transport big stuff we had to "transform" it from "truck" back to "car" by removing this barrier :) But, I'll repeat myself n-th time: SECURE YOUR LOAD PROPERLY! You never know when somebody makes something stupid and you end up crashing. Model S will protect you well from front, but you may get crushed by all the stuff pushing against your seat... 50kg parcel at just 10g of deceleration (small hit) will push with half a ton of force..

    • @mibars
      @mibars 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Okay as I'm watching further - You do secure your load properly this time :)

    BTW, the windshield washer nozzles are adjustable. So you can try and adjust them a little bit higher to fix your problem with windscreen cleaning at higher speeds.

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem is that if I adjust them up for 100 km/h, they won't work properly at low speed. They don't spread the fluid as well as other cars do. As I said, this is probably some $5 part that can be replaced.

    • @esaedvik
      @esaedvik 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Bjørn Nyland My Pontiac Firebird had the perfect solution for this: they put the nozzles into the blade mount - no spraying and wastes less fluids into the air. Absolutely fantastic.

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Esa Edvik Tesla should also do that!

    • @Zoli1972s
      @Zoli1972s 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bjørn Nyland
      I also expected, that - especially in such an innovative car - the nozzles would also be there. It's sad, that they aren't. But maybe in the latest models? Many manufacturers are already using this technology, like VW, Opel/Vauxhall/GM, and - speaking of GM - as Esa said, Pontiac, and who knows which ones else... Tesla should do likewise. It's absoultely for sure, that this improves safety a lot. If newer Teslas already have it, Maybe the service center can install it as a kind of hardware upgrade?

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Zoli1972s If I recall correctly, every week, they improve 20-30 points/features on the car. As you've seen on my past videos, the new cars with autopilot also have improved levers, head rest, seats, bugfixes etc. It's almost like two cars that come one week apart are different and that almost no cars are identical.
      Hopefully they will improve this soon.

    33:25 to 34:40, I couldn't agree more.
    I've been told that (maybe) this year Tesla will plant some Superchargers in Iceland. I REALLY hope that's true. They would have to plant about 15 SC's here to cover the country. Not more than that, I think.

    Bjørn, you mentioned an issue with your wiper nozzles around 1:20. You said, that they don't spread the fluid correctly over the windscreen. There are two tricks you can do about it: on most of the cars (I think, that Tesla isn't an exception) the wiper nozzles can be turned a little to adjust the srpay direction. This can be done by using a small needle. Using the needle, you can also try to clean the dirt out of the nozzle by carefully sticking the needle into it. But be really careful, not to damage the nozzle. Those two tricks helped me all the time when my car had issues with the wiper nozzles. I think, ice isn't an issue on your car, because it has a heater for the fluid or the nozzles, right? I don't know which one.

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The nozzles have been adjusted before. So I don't think it would help. I hope newer cars get upgraded nozzles.

    Tjena Bjørn! Anledningen till att Tesla inte är lika populärt i Sverige som i Norge är att bilarna är mycket dyrare i Sverige. Basversionen av model S i Norge kostar 511.000 NOK, i Sverige kostar den 739.000 SEK, vilket är 688.000 norska. Fattar inte riktigt varför, men det verkar som efterfrågan inte är jättestor här. Bor själv i Uddevalla och märker att vid de superchargers som finns här står det bara norska bilar.

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    100 km/h speed limit on highway is sick.
    In Poland we have limits: 50 in city, 70 on 2 lane roads in city, 90 outside of city, 100 on 2 lane roads, 120 on fast roads and 140 on highways but 90% of people drive 20 km/h faster, because the speed ticket for this is only 200 NOK and we know where the speed cameras are.
    So 80 in city, 120 outside of city and 160 on highway is normal.
    I will be bored to death driving 100 on highway

    hej bjørn :)
    to shed some light on the "boende ku" thing ;)
    i don't live in stockholm, but linköping,and we have these signs, too. it's for residential parking, because otherwise you have to pay every day between 8am and 8pm (or in that street you were in from 9am to 5pm), so the city offers residential parking and it is zoned by what part of town you live in. "ku" will be short for "kungsholmen" area in stockholm, so if you buy a monthly residential parking for your vehicle, you will be permitted to park anywhere in the streets with a sign that says "boende ku" - however, if you park on a different street outside that zone, you have to pay again.
    speaking of zones in stockholm, what did you do about the congestion charge when you visited? i was curious about that a while ago, if i ever got my own tesla, so i checked the laws with the swedish trafikstyrelse and according to their website everyone has to pay congestion charge, even electric cars. which i find an outrage! since the charge had been introduced to reduce CO2 emissions from vehicles entering the city, so i think they should have it for free for electric cars. but the swedish government just isn't that nice to us :(

      I would like to see your charging strategy for the daily commuting with your Model S without wasting too much time waiting, if you haven't got a plug in your own garage and at work. Unfortunately this is a major problem for every renter of an apartment in a big city.

      mufti 1802 No, I spend about 10 seconds after I park the car to plug in the cable. I wouldn't call that waste of time. When I had a fossil car, I had to spend 10 minutes extra driving to the gas station with the lowest price. Then I needed another 5 minutes to pay and refuel. That's waste of time!

      Bjørn Nyland I'm highly interested in buying a Model III. My problem is that I live in a rental flat in Munich without a plug in the garage. I would need a permission from my landlord to install a red plug and I'm not sure I would get it. At work I haven't got a plug either.
      To charge up I would have to drive to a charging station and wait a long time. That means that I would waste a lot of time waiting for my car to charge up. Do you have any suggestions for me?

      @bjornnyland  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      mufti 1802 Best solution is to either charge at home or at work while your car is idle anyway. Second best option is to hope for a 22 kW AC Type 2 at some of the shopping malls. Then you can at least get some shopping done while the car is charging up. Third option would be to go to the service center in Feldkirchen where there will be a supercharger soon. And by the time Model 3 is out, there could be other superchargers in town as well.

    could you do a video with new cars? so we can see the autopilot functionality? It would be cool if you did one trip with every new update so we can see the differences.

    I'm slightly confused with the $117 for oil, etc.. What would you have to buy that would have cost that much that wasn't needed for the Model S? Just curious.

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oil, oil filter, spark plugs, timing belts, air filters. A fossil car cost a lot per km.

    • @Esl1999
      @Esl1999 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bjørn Nyland you considered the cost of a timing belt and spark plugs for such a short trip. Fuel, absolutely... timing belt and spark plugs... I don't think so. WAIT! Are talking about an 1975 Fiat, Audi or Peugeot? That's a different story.

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Esl1999 Yes, you have to calculate in the cost for those parts. A timing belt needs to be replaced every 90k km. In Norway it cost about 10k kr. That means 1 km cost 0.11 kr for the timing belt. Same goes for the other parts.

      There isn't really a point in the comment in that sense. Mainly just needed to think something to comment to make your video more popular... Polis was supposed to mean the Swedish police (at 1:03:10 you were in Sweden)and maybe I should have typed politi for Norwegian police as well. ;)
