I always found it interesting that it was Ghislaine primarily pushing for revenge. Eris clearly also wanted it but was obviously trying to control herself.

I wonder what Ghyslaine thought of Sylphy, though. She was there to witness Sauros' end in the anime, but I'm not too sure about the book. Sylphy was well in Ariel's faction and she had to carefully present the case to the vengeful woman.
Sylphy was still new working in the Asura nobility and you know how sick are those nobles in the head. What do you expect she would do. And she barely knows him compared to Rudeus. She is technically a commoner.

A misunderstanding Ariel's faction was eager to perpetuate, if they didn't create it in the first place. Been a while since I've read through the single-digit LNs, so I'll have to do another reread.
My thinking was more on whether or not Ghyslaine would have any resentment towards Sylphy. She didn't show any towards Ariel, as she trusted the princess to point out those on whom she can take vengeance.
Ariel’s faction had nothing to do with Saroas’ death, it was Grable’s faction who was responsible because they felt Saroas was dumping too many resources into rebuilding the Fittoa region rather than supporting his faction.

Grabel's faction simply allowed it to happen as James was more useful as a pawn and investment, since he was more concerned with covering his ass and brown nosing than Sauros, whose primary interest was in recovery and reconstruction.
It wasn't Sauros dumping money into the region per se that Grabel's faction took exception to, but he already had enemies and him dumping money into reconstruction meant less money being used to cover his ass from them. Pilemon in Ariel's faction took advantage of this weakness, Darius already had James in his pocket, and Grabel could get rid of a potential annoyance.

Darius straight up admits to being the one who pushed Pilemon into getting Sauros executed because he putting too much of the Boros family resources into rebuilding the Fittoa region that it was compromising his family’s influence on the political front. He tries to play it off as him helping the Boros family to win points with Eris, that and claiming he was helping to rebuild the Fittoa region which Rudous knew hadn’t really been the case since Eris “died”. Pilemon was a paper Tiger Darius used to arrange Sauros’ death, he admits to it and Ghislaine kills him for it.

Oh man, can't wait to see another seasons, movies, and OVAs about this, it's actually a different approach of isekai and also not very much repeatable formula (the only one I know about the same complex paradox like this are the Tensura......)
Tensure doesnt have the same complexity 😂 are u dyslexic? Its plot is always about a crisis that ends with mc showing his op ness, multiple times and just wins everytime. In MT rudeus actually loses, and its either he lost to a higher power, or his relationship w other character shattered because of his flaws.
Rimuru doesn't have that, he easily makes friend everywhere and the one who doesn't eventually get killed or get submit to him. MT is a power fantasy but w real struggle while tensure is pure power fantasy.

They're not the heroes, they can do smth cruel if they want to. I think Rudeus was just not too salty about it, he doesn't think of Sauros that often and its not like he saved his life or anything.
@@aratakyun1937 I’m talking about their role in the story not their personality’s. It’d be quite strange for our hero Rudeus who isn’t a big fan of unnecessary violence would want too cause more suffering than necessary
While it's true that Sauros mistake to not investigate helped enable the disaster, not that I know it'd be possible to stop it, the effects on the people could've been lessened with an evacuation, so he did bear some responsibility, however those rats were disgusting and wrong beyond repair. They earned their destruction.
This is the thing that probably bugged me the most out of season one. How unjustly he was executed and how absolutely zero repercussions happened to the bastard's responsible. (This is nice to know it eventually comes, but we probably don't see it in the anime until season 4 I'm guessing since S3 will probably FOCUS on Rudy versus Orsted versus Eris & Ghislane's travels.)

He wasn't exactly falsely accused, Sauros was indeed kinda irresponsible for simply ignoring the Red Orb in the sky for several years.
Of course he probably wouldn't be able to do anything about it but saying that "it's not something bad... I like to think that way." is just wishful thinking.
He had to take responsibility in some way, although executing him would definitely not be my veredict. Ghislaine revenge against Darius is 100% justified though, that guy was a piece of sh**.
