Hey besties! Just wanted to say as much as I think the three of them are senti and autistic, I’m not 100% sure they are, or at least 100% on that they’re intended to be that way. I just thought this video would be a nice way to open a discussion around autism and disability more in general in the show, and how certain depictions can be positive/negative in media 🥰

What if their a reflection of their creators personality , like Adrien seems to be like emelie(if he's a sentimonster), but if the show actually implements autistic characters , then that's really cool.

Thanks for educating us a bit! I have barely any knowledge of autism other than what I see in my friend's child. I wouldn't have thought of Adriene, Kagami, or Felix as autistic. I would have just thought of them as a bit socially awkward due to them being sheltered and nothing else.
Separately, I am so sorry that people sometimes act or tell you that you aren't fully human! Clearly, there needs to be more education, but some people just insist on perpetuating this 'us vs. them' mentality, which has historically fueled so much cruelty and violence in our human history... I hope that over time we find a way to actually be inclusive and not think of anyone as less than human. ❤️

Didn't realize some people consider autistic people to be "less human." The heck! I do see a parallel to that in the show, though. In Pretension, Felix corrects Kagami when she says sentimonsters. So basically senti ≠ monster and autistic ≠ inhuman

Yes, I'm sure I brought up I'm also autistic but don't really talk about it. Kagami and Felix being among my favorites here remind me of times I've tried interacting with others. Not so much being inhuman but thought there was something different about me since I'm not like everyone else. But I do have friends who are also autistic.

Whenever I’m visiting her(she lives on the other side of the world with my dad my older sister and my step mom) I can see that she has a hard time deciphering her feelings, she stumbles on her words and over all I just get reminded of Kagami a lot when I’m near her or I get reminded of her when I see Kagami in the show!

Very interesting video, that's an interesting point of view ! As someone who is neurodivergent as well (I'm dyspraxic) I can totally relate to the need for representation (there is only a single canon dyspraxic character that I know of).
In my opinion it's not a coincidence that the three of them were strongly socially isolated for a good chunk of their life wich is going to impact their social skills (also raised by elitist parents and had to pick up lots of extracurricular activities which can make them anxious to mess up and disappoint others).
To me the whole creating a sentichild theme in the show is used as a magical metaphor to represent emotional abuse (or emotional neglect) and helicopter parenting with the amoks representing the tight control parents can have on their children in this case and impact their lives

Haze will be perpetually giggling to herself while explaining her diagnosis to others from this point forward in her life...
I think the diagnostic criteria is lacking in that it only relies on behaviors (which can be masked) than on how we think and process information, emotions, etc. (which can't be directly observed by others). I don't think like most people... I never have. But when the situation requires it, I can certainly blend in for a period of time (though it gets harder to do the more tired I get). Unfortunately, while growing up, I learned I needed to mask around everyone (even family) all the time lest I get "the look" -- you know the one, the one you get when you say something "inappropriate" and everyone else in the room side-eye each other. So even now that I'm trying to mask less, I still can't bring myself to take it off completely.

Also I do think sentis are no different from humans.
A miraculous ambassador once said on twitter "A senti is a living thing born from raw human emotion mixed with the pure magic of a creature who is the representation of an abstract concept, then they develop a will of their own and make choices and you wonder what makes them different from humans ?"
In Pretension, Felix compares sentis to children that you have to raise and help find their own way.
Astruc himself said that if a senti is conceived to be like a human, it will BE human.

What I want to say is that you ARE a human with a bright smile and a big heart! ❤❤❤❤Whoever said "you aren't fully a human," then they SHOWED that they failed. They failed to understand you and they failed by not getting to know YOU as a person who has a genuine heart. Maybe this trio of sentis have autistic signs just because of the simple fact that they are all brought up the same way? Maybe nothing actually being related to being a sentimonster.
It could just be that their upbringings are all so similar because them sort of being magical creatures makes their parents scared to let them out into the world.

adrien is 100% autistic. His behavior in the first few episodes of the first season can be written off as "he was sheltered his entire life" but now you could say he already got the social cues he needed right ? Yet he still has those misunderstanding moments
Plus (storytime), growing up, I was sheltered all the time, because I was behaving weird - my parents would not want me to embarass them or myself, and I would always be scared of people, so they just...kept me in that close family circle and I barely had friends growing up because I sucked at socializing - because of that and because of my struggles to pick up social cues.
So yep i kinda relate to adrien on that point. And you cannot tell me he hadn't had a special interest in Ladybug because how did he fell out of love with her so easily in season 5 ? It was more like an obsession kind of attachment, and once again, I get it and can relate

I don't think that Adrien and Felix are THAT autistic and I'll tell you why. First of all, yes, let's say that Adrien, Felix and Kagami are sentis: but as example, Adrien really wanted to go out and make friends, the beginning of the show was really showing him and how he wants to "get in" and be like everyone else since he hasn't seen how ANYONE would ever interact with him... Same, I think, goes for Felix - look, since his father was a billionaire or something, he finished his school earlier than anyone else... He doesn't really know how to interact with people too (he might be a bit more autistic since we've seen his behavior with Kagami) and if you remember, I think, in episode Felix s3 ep20 or smth when Chat Noir told Felix that he doesn't have that much friends he made the "eye-roll" expression, which means he also knows about his loneliness but doesn't know how to make friends - the difference between Adrien and Felix in general.
Secondly, Kagami is worse (and more autistic) than them both.... Omg how I love her character and how I hate the fact that she is super locked from her mother that she couldn't even show her face out without telling her mother and asking her... Thanks to Marinette, everything was kinda fine, but for me Tomoe isn't EVEN THE SLIGHTEST BETTER than Gabe Babes.... She HAS the same problems as Felix and Adrien but worse... Because her mother was always in control of every movement she make....
I also have a theory about the *eventual* sentimonster hiding: what if they hid their kids because not that much they wanted to protect them but to hide them *maybe* from their parents because no one liked the fact that their kids are sentimonsters? I can't think of a better idea since they all hold their amoks safely... What do you think of all I said bestie?

The level of autism doesn't determine whether you want to make friends and fit in or not. That's determined by your personality and upbringing in general. There are a lot of people who are moderately or severely autistic who also want friends and to fit in.

This got Emilie anxious, so she began homeschooling Adrien to avoid similar conflict. As for Tamoe & Gabriel, I feel like they just homeschool their kids to avoid "tarnishing what they're made for".

In my Secondary School, I was getting along just fine, UNTIL I mentioned I was autistic. My 'friends' started to treat me differently, and eventually left me on my own, and a lot of people started bullying me. I talked to two other autistic people, and realised the bullies in my school only targeted people on the spectrum, because they obviously think we're not fully human. I love your video, really interesting, i didn t thought about three of them being autistic until your video (i saw it with Kagami)and it is really interesting because it shows that every autistic is diferent and not to stereotype a person
I recomend to SEE the anime komi can t comunícate it describes perfectly juleka and she has a communication disorder
I know ir is enoying to SEE allá Sheldon Cooper but however with the exageración of the lack of social skills helps to make aware of this and to try to understund people with this desorden and help them instead of making fun of them.
I really like the show atypical, the character is not super clever, he is an artist and he is trying to fit...
I hope to SEE more videos with this kind of análisis i loved it!

    Autism children go brrrrrrr
In all seriousness (other than Donnie from TMNT 2018) Kagami is the most relatable character to me because that face she makes in Ikari Gozen? Yeah that’s just my face when I forget to overthink every little movement I make so I don’t look like serial killer, and her asking the oddly specific questions? Oh wait what is the first thing I do when I meet someone again… oh right I either ask what their favorite color is or go off on a tangent about Bluey (hey look it’s better than reciting bad jokes out of a book my grandma gave me like when I was 7).
In conclusion I not only have an extreme emotional attachment to Kagami but Adrien and Felix as well, and this stupid show that I don’t even like is not supposed to give me more fictional children.

I'm really sorry those people said that to you bestie, that's not acceptable at all. I'm so sorry you had to go through that.
This video was super interesting though, as an autistic person I can relate to Adrien and Kagami a lot (for me personally) especially towards Kagami in Ikari Gozen when she struggles to make friends, even though she really wants to.
I completely agree with you about it being a bad idea having all the sentimonsters being autistic, it could definitely increase the stigma and we don't need anymore of that 😅
Having Adrien &/or Luka as autistic representation would be very refreshing as it's not the stereotype!

Adrien was the first character i suspect that he could be a senticreature before they said there are three sentis and also the first one i assumed to be autistic and for a long time i was searching the web to see does anyone else thinks like me or not and i also think felix and kagami could be autistic because of their similarities to adrien but being autistic just proves sentis are real and developed just like babies in the womb cause it's a combination of imperfection and perfection it's hard to tell but i think it's true also myleene and rose could be autistic as well but they have a lower chance

    • @Sepita_the_fairy
      @Sepita_the_fairy 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

Plus being human or not is not the case in sentis it's existing and my points prove that they do exist
I also had a theory that sentis may never die so it goes like this you may purify the amok but if later in time you use it for the same creation and I think that's why felix cried so hard he could recreate his senti ever again or so he thought because he thought it was dangerous they will remember the first time so there are two circumstances either you should use the same amok or you just need intention
P.S: Being human is more shame than honor looking back at the man kind history

I'm curious if there's any characters with Autism who ISN'T a Sentimonster in Miraculous.
I feel like Marinette shows some traits (both positive & negative traits) & as far as we know, she isn't a Sentimonster.
Then there's Placide I.T (Gorilla) & he has a possible speech impairment & has an obsession towards action figurines. Some types of traits I am sure. He's a better father figure than Gabriel.
And I hope Gabriel isn't one of the autistic characters (especially if he's the ONLY one with it), because that would be awkward.
I have myself been diagnosed with it. As an Autistic individual, I was super offended when a PETA advertisement said "milk causes Autism" like it is a disease.
Autism is not a disease, but more of an interesting thing.
There are (& have been) been famous people who have it (such as musicians, artists, scientists, etc.), & in some cases, they wouldn't be where they are without it.
Also, thank you for making it clear that Autism isn't contagious, isn't a disease & it cannot be cured (& should not, honestly).
I would actually like it if Miraculous goes over this topic & shows people what it is & how that person is still a person, & especially if it also focuses on coping methods & the positive side of it.

    • @hazeclarke
      @hazeclarke  ปีที่แล้ว +2

I might possibly be autistic, but on the lower spectrum, I don't want a test done however, but I'm also LGBT! I feel if the show was representing these things they should have done it clearly and not by queerbaiting/ simply representing autism through the senti theory. Do you support LGBT and what are your opinions on more LGBT movies and shows for young people, like strange world? I acc think it's necessary to stop homophobia and this is a good way to do it as kids should be raised to be accepting.
