Adrien was designed to be perfect so that the audience could see why Marinette loved him, but the writers robbed him of any development. His movie version is slightly better, tbh.
I wouldn't say he was 100% perfect. In earlier seasons, Adrien completely allowed his father to walk all over him. Now, his father had to resort to using his amok to control him since Adrien was actively working on making his own choices. Initially, Adrien did little to nothing to call out Chloe for her bullying since he still felt attachment to her since she was his first friend. Now by this point, Adrien has completely broken off his friendship with Chloe. So, he does get at least some development...but currently, I find that Adrien is becoming overtly characterized by his current relationship with Marinette...the same way as how Cat Noir became overtly characterized by his crush on Ladybug. It's quite downgrading to his characterization honestly. I mean...he literally wrote in his career file that all he knows is that he loves Marinette.....
@@launacyko4523 Adrien didn't "allow" his father to walk all over him. That's not how toxic/abusive relationships work, and the same goes for his relaionship with Chloe, as she was his only friend before going to school. By "perfect," I mean his intelligence and kindness, as well as the shoe not really giving him his own problems to solve (he had problems, but Ladybug/Marinette usually saved the day).
I miss the old adrien he used to have so much character and sassiness then they decided to throw that all the way and make his only personality trait into being a massive simp
Ah, ik this joke was alr made once but still Chloe got caracter assassination and she is blonde Adrien/Cat noir got caracter assassination and he is blonde Zoe got 0 personality and she is blonde Felix got......they changed his caracter so fast so many times that I think it would count as caracter assassination and he is blonde I think I would see a pattern here Tha, but also alya also got caracter assassinated she has, brown hair Sabrina changing sides from a good person to a bad one to a good one in a blink of a eye, brown hair Kim getting caracter assassination, brown hair Etc.
5:14 I've never liked that excuse; just because a piece of media is targeted towards boys/girls does not mean you can have poorly written female/male characters.
@@muriok2474 he issued trying to get you to join a cult,he is just telling about the love of Jesus,he doesn't understand that doing it like that isn't going to help
@@muriok2474 You seem to absolutely hate even a small mention of Jesus. Why so bitter about someone else professing their beliefs? Perhaps you’re a bigot?
They always keep everything from Chat, not just the secret identities and when he does something wrong because of that they all get mad! JUST TELL HIM THEN.
If adrien goes villain from the compounded betrayal for a season, I'd like that. Not chat noir especially, but Adrien "I still have a lair in the basement" Agreste.
The worst part for me is that the show wants us to believe from the very beginning that Marinette loves Adrien, but that is so far from the truth. Mari doesnt love Adrien, she loves the idol, the version if him he has to put up due to his father's abuse and control, the perfect prince charming that is always sweet and never makes mistakes. Thats who she likes. And we know for a fact that she truly doesnt love him because she like Chat Noir, say what you want about her not knowing hes Adrien, but at the end of the day, Chat noir is the true adrien, the one that doesnt need to fake a persona for the cameras. The real adrien is sassy, likes puns, is jealous, is rude, impulsive, at the same time caring. And we are well aware that Marinette does NOT like chat noir's personality and thinks hes annoying. The only reason she would like him back, would be because she finds out hes her idol, the exterior. In Kuro Neko we see Mari falling head over heels over Cat walker, whos Adrien using his usual persona. So yeah, she doesnt like Adrien, she just likes perfect guys, and he just happens to fake that personality everyday
See this is why they should've made her fall in love with CN before Adrien. Cuz CN is adrien's real personality he just hides it when he's in his civilian form. Her liking CN getting to know him better would've made so much sense when she gets together with Adrien in the end.
Mate, you absolutely voiced my thoughts. Back in my day, when I was an innocent 3rd grader watching Miraculous, Adrien was this handsome, cool and funny guy with lots of potential. He was also a HUMAN. But now, he's just this submissive simp that doesn't have the ability to rebel (literally). Like, he literally disobeyed his father to go to school, stole the Grimoire, tried to go to a school trip and ran away from his house to go watch a movie. Season 5 Submissive Adrien would NEVER do that. He never truly stood up for his girlfriend nor stand up to his father (without being Cat Noir, hiding behind the mask doesn't count). Add to that the dumpster fire Season 5 finale which, in my humble opinion, is WAY worse than Miracle Queen which is saying something really bad. Why the hell was Marinette the one calling Gabe out for trying to lock Adrien in the house and putting him in Alliance rings!? They really did massacre our boy.😭 Apologies for this long comment but I'm just so pissed at the season 5 ending because I've spent nearly a decade as a fan.
I completely agree with you. It's not fair what they did to him. I understand this is "go girls! " show but that doesn't mean te guy who is in the title of the sueries should get no development and not finishing his arc so marinette can like 😭 I watched the show 5 years! And this is is how they end the Gabriel a great arc really? T_T
And the best part is Marinette asuming Adrien's feelings about the lost of his mother because he's fine with it (the show has a huge problem with grieving and deal with it like a really easy thing or a way to became evil because feelings that are not being obsesed about a boy are unhealthy if You're not the MC), and he will be fine losing his father and Nathalie...when he saw strugling with Nathalie illness because he doesn't know that his father is dying.
@@Rekisk8 We're talking about a 5 seasons serie, more than a 100 episodes, and a too small character's development and almost everybody in the show is a support or a background character. It you take away Marinette obsesion with Adrien the story is... like .... no Master fu teaching Marinette (what would explained why is so hard to akumatized her) or even later Master Su Han (with Adrien and Marinette) they prefer to abuse the plot's armor or the villiain is fool. No Fu teaching or taking care of Adrien, Nathalie forgeting that Master Fu went to the house to teach chinese to Adrien, the list is so long. The creator's team took so many bad decisions pretending to make Ladybug look so much better, that they ruined Chat Noir, because they really didn't know how to do it well. The problem is they kept sinking his abbilities to make her look better, she got and upgrade but he didn't, It's just that, they could have written it better, with both character growing, with the show being a Rom/com and no a girl all about how much she loved a guy that she make several huge mistakes like losing master Fu, betraying Chloe or losing the miraculous box or being so full of her self that her partner fatally injured a somebody twice.
@@liaheben yeah exactly. If they can't make marinette or ladybugs string with out ruining other characters then they really can't write. It also makes no sense rly for ladybug to be better than chat noir bcs their miraculous in the box are literally equal -_-
I loved the ''opposites attract'' dynamic going on at the start. Mari was a clumsy overthinker but she was putting on a ''perfect'' act to look strong and dependable when she was Ladybug. Adrien was putting on a ''perfect'' act to look like what his father wanted him to be but his Chat Noir persona gave him the freedom to be free and do whatever he wanted to do Mari needed a partner to depend on when she was panicking and Chat needed that special person to be his real self with after being isolated all his life. Now Ladybug does everything herself, Chat watches from afar and get mad when he doesn't get his kiss. The show ended in season 2 for me.
Yes! And that is part of what made it so entertaining for me. He saw Ladybug as "perfect" and Marinette saw Adrien as "perfect." There could have been a great arc where they (mostly Marinette) realize that their crushes are not perfect and learn to care about each other as they both slowly portray more qualities that their alter egos (Marinette and Cat Noir) have.
You know Kim Possible had this same set up and did it infinitely better, by the end Ron wasn't just a sidekick he was a fully realized character with his own story, villains and moments. How have we effectively taken so many steps backwards.
I hate the fact that the show likes to portray this as LB and CN, and then the other heroes, when it clearly isnt, considering that CN does not have a new power, was not present during the final battle, and is not aware of the rest of cast secret identities. My only hope for this is that Adrien finds out that Ladybug/Marinette lied to him about Gabriel, making him angry, which he has every right to be. Like im sorry, but i cannot look at any interaction between the two and not think that Marinette WILLINGLY lied to Adrien.
Yeah, she has also made him incredibly vulnerable by not telling him that he is a Senti-being, and that his Amok is the ring(s), like imagine if he loses them. Some random person could just gain full control of Cat Noir, or worst case scenario, Lila or some other villain gets hold of it.
They didn’t even bother to reshape the framing to match what they subtly set up with the character. We could no longer view this character’s downfall as a comedy due to her showing a bout of self awareness to the point where it could be considered self loathing and yet when all is said and done that’s all they want us to take away from her downfall or “damnation”. Even if it’s by their own hand stuff like this is tragic, not to all but to many it would have resonated.
At this point, the movies are probably Adrien's only hope, at least he actually had the compelling ending with Gabe. In fact, the movie was the complete opposite of the show. Marinette gets beaten up and her Miraculous taken, something show Gabe took five seasons to even nearly do by the way. And Cat Noir had a solo final battle with Gabe, getting washed but completing Gabe's arc when he finds out Adrien is Cat Noir and gives up being Hawkmoth. The show just dragged it out for too damn long at the expense of the MAIN VILLAIN and the LITERAL SECOND MAIN CHARACTER
Shafting your male lead into a very minor, exclusively love interest role just because it’s a “show for girls,” ignores the fact that there used to be shows with the same demographic that still give male characters some consideration and development. Kim Possible was the action show of my girlhood which bothered to develop the male deuteragonist and eventual love interest.
On that Zuko comparison- even though he doesn’t have the final battle with Ozai, HE STILL HAS HIS MOMENT TO STAND UP TO HIM (during the eclipse). And after he says his piece to him about all the abuse he suffered, Ozai attacks him with lightning, and Zuko redirects it back! When Chat/Adrien gets to face his father as Nightormenter, he does get to say his piece, but then he gets hit and is completely defeated until his class shows up. Him beating Nightormentor could’ve been HIS moment, but nooo, they needed him to have a mental breakdown so they had an excuse to lock him up (which they could’ve actually done later anyways because everyone on the planet gets hit with nightmares anyways)
My hope, as unlikely as it is, is that for the next major climax they have to use the Bunny miraculous to undo Gabe's wish to prevent some lurking doom, meaning Adrien can finally confront him.
honestly i hear what ur saying and as good as it sounds lets be realistic the show already wrapped up the gabe saga (in the worst way) so its impossible to go back to it imo
@@josratubangura Well if thats confirmed then i guess hope is not lost yet after all cuz Gabe returnin for an episode sounds like a good idea to try fixing Adrian's arc
This video sums up my frustrations regarding Adrien/Cat Noir perfectly. The romance is literally what got most people into Miraculous, but during season 3, the creators started shifting their focus to "girl power". And in their eyes, that meant sidelining Adrien and making Cat Noir incompetent. It only got worse in season 4, where Alya became more important than him. While Adrien got more screen time during season 5, it became clear what his role was: a love interest and a damsel in distress. I still had some hope for the finale, but I never could have imaged it being so bad. Cat Noir absent from the final showdown, Gabriel proclaimed a hero, and Marinette lying to Adrien about all of it. It didn't make me give up just on Adrien, but on the show as a whole.
Adrien was one of my favorite characters. But when they decided to make him only care about Marinette. I knew this wasn’t the real Adrien anymore. Just a spirit puppeting a dead corpse.
The only they can fix Miraculous in season 6: is time travel. Bunnix comes in the present to tell ladybug that letting Gabriel make that sacrifice caused a ripple effect in time and she and cat noir have to stop him. Adrian needs to find out about his dad and be mad at Marinette- for just a a couple episodes until the final boss battle
With the Star Wars comparison, it isn’t even Leia. It would be like if Han Solo went in place of either of the Skywalker children, talked Darth Vader into throwing himself off the shaft with the Emperor, then go back to Endor and say “hey Darth Vader is defeated. Who is he? Heck if I know”, then cue the credits roll.
I noticed this after awhile, but why is the Ladybug Miraculous the only one that can deal with the Akuma? I think that’s a big part of Adrien appearing like a joke, because you need the Ladybug to properly deal with a villain in the length of one episode. To make villain look tough, they always need to only beat down the non Ladybug heroes. So therefore, I decided in my rewrite that all the Miraculous can deal with the Akuma and feather just in different ways. Ladybug purifies it and releases it, Cat destroys it, Turtle crushes it, etc etc.
@@BBillievee of course they all have different powers, the little things having the same powers is not what I’m suggesting. I’m wondering if the non Ladybug heroes could’ve used their existing power set to deal with the akuma in different ways. That I think could’ve fixed a lot of the non Ladybug heroes, especially Cat Noir in later seasons, appearing like jokes to make other villains look strong. Like hey why not have Marinette akumatized into an evil Ladybug one episode and have Cat Noir cataclysm the butterfly to disintegrate it after the fighting’s done?
@@riotkitty Exactly! He even disintegrates one akuma in that episode where he and Marinette were dating, and she was going to be akumatized. I think it was Cat Blanc but i dont remember.
Smarty. . . Smarty. . . Smarty this Miraculous video is. . . MY DAMN BEYOND FAVORITE!! Seriously, the only thing that could paw-ssibly top it, is a ship romantic to platonic ranking from you. Of course with Adrigami romantically being in the number 1 Purrfect!! Anyway, Adrien "Cattastic Kitty" Cat Noir is the main reason I started watching this horrible series back in late 2017. Yes, the writers destroyed him in everyway. He is treated worse then the great Ron Stoppable. At least with that blond we knew from the back he is a sidekick but does get respect by Kim and real fans. When Kim is unable to actually do anything z Ron does step up and handle. Not just when he is evil or with monkey power. But with Cat Noir yes, we were robbed of his finale season 5 true shining moment. It's still going (why boring) but season 6 I don't have hope for. Only way is Adrien getting furious and breaking up with Marinette when she reveals or he just discovers the truth of Gabe. I mean come on, LB has ALWAYS lied to CN, have fans really not saw it coming that Mari would lie to her "beloved" Adrien. That stalker getting her reward in the end is a disgusting massage for kids. Okay, this 28 year old woman is finished. Everyone have a blessed Wednesday February 7, 2024 at 8:33AM. 🌸🔥🌸🔥
I think it’s be cool if, now that there’s an entire team of heroes operating at once, Chat Noir becomes a leader of one faction. Like how in the army there’s different generals for different platoons or whatever. Ladybug and Chat Noir are the seniors members of this superhero team. So maybe they could have Ladybug lead/train one half of the group and Chat lead/train the other at times. While still working together when needed. But when Adrian finds out that Ladybug lied about his father, he brings this to the attention of the other heroes. So the two groups fracture over which of their two leaders are in the right - Chat Noir (who believes in transparency and trust) or Ladybug (who believes secrecy is sometimes necessary). And the two factions really becoming two separate teams. Kinda like a Miraculous take on Civil War (the Marvel Comics story). It’d be a good way to give Chat/Adrian agency again and make him a leader in his own right all while giving other characters a chance for a dramatic and meaningful arc as well. Because you could have different characters that are friends picking opposite sides (Chat or Ladybug’s) based on their personal beliefs, which strains their relationships.
@@catherinewright9365 Thank you! To me, it’s just cool to think/ask which heroes/friends would side with Ladybug and which would side Chat Noir on that argument. And how Chat would handle being a leader instead of a partner or sidekick.
It's almost funny how they've made Adrien the stereotypical girl sidekick, who's only really there to be eye-candy for the protagonist. In their efforts to make this cartoon all about girl power, they've practically just genderbent the classic stereotype of the main lead (male) being the hero and the focus of the show while pining after the secondary lead (female) being the sidekick, who doesn't really have much impact on the story. Heck, they even made Cat Noir a damsel in distress so many times its sick. I will forever be mad at the creators for having him - an experienced hero, lose to Alya, who'd only worn her the Fox miraculous a small handful of times, wearing the Ladybug miraculous for the first time. They even made it look like she defeated him with low difficulty like that simply made no sense.
Im just reading these comments and i realised that the FANS know the characters soo much more then the actual writers and that says alot. Thomas, man you really messed up your show didnt you 💀
I hope that in the next season, he finds out the truth about his father and ladybug's true identity. Adrien has to realize that he always have been protected by people when he no longer needs the protection cause then it would make it much more difficult to trust people.
Not to mention that Adrien had stated before that he hates secrets, so finding out the truth next season would be a great idea in my opinion. He needs to know who his father really was and learn how to deal with it on his own rather than depend on others like he always had.
What they did to Adrien was just cruel. Like his father, Gabriel, was the big bad for 5 seasons of Miraculous and they had him crying in a cell crying while Marinette fought Monarch as Bug Noir. Like everytime the bad guy was family, the hero is saving the day. Like you said about Zuko fighting Azula while Aang was fighting Ozai. Other good cases of the heroes fighting the villain parents or sibling, or at least fight other bad guys included Guardians Of The Galaxy Volumes 2 and 3. Avengers 1-4. Thor 1 and 3. Wrath Of The Titans. Star Wars episodes 5, 6 and 9. So Star Lord fought Ego and the other heroes are doing whatever they needed to do, like weaken Eon or try to get off planet since the planet was going to destroyed too. Nebula was there when Iron Man and Star Lord's teams worked together to fight Thanos. Nebula and a Time Travel Gamora were there when the Avengers and their allies were fighting Thanos. Thor fought Loki in Thor and Avengers. Iron Man, Hulk and Vision fought Ultron in Avengers Age Of Ultron. Thor and Loki fought Hela in Thor Ragnarok. Rocket Raccoon was fighting The High Evolutionary. In Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi Luke was fight Vader while Leia was fighting Storm Troopers. Rey was fighting Emperor Palatine in Rise Of Skywalker. Hulk fought his dad, The Absorbing Man in the Eric Bana Hulk movie. Perseus was fighting his brother Ares while Zeus and Hades was fighting Kronos. And then Perseus fought Kronos after that. Wonder Woman fought Ares, her Uncle. All those examples had the heroes and villains fight even when they're related, or at least have the hero fight some other fight to at least have them do something instead of doing nothing. The main question I have for Astruc is, "Did some blonde do something that made you treat Adrien like a punching bag or have Chloe's redemption arc go undone?" I know the Netflix Miraculous worked better having Cat Noir was better since he was there fighting. At least have Adrien there for the reveal, having him see Monarch get unmasked, and possibly learn Ladybug's identity too.
It solely depends on the writing for the later seasons. Honestly, I stopped hoping for anything with Adrien in the series after how much they botched what’s supposed to be his story and family arc. The movies gave me some hope that they’ll eventually do more for him than the series ever did.
Yep!! That’s why I stick with reading fan fiction stories & the Japan Manga that doesn’t make Marinette look creepy/stalker but make her act like a normal girl
All I can say is Astruc really doesn't understand women. We don't actually want nor like it when a male main character is completely shafted. I mean, especially a romantic love interest character--who would want someone who is incapable of doing anything important? I can answer that, basically no one. Last Air Bender is a great example. There's a lot of women who are fans of that show and love all the characters. None of the characters in that show get shafted (that I remember).
Adrian is the one character ive been able to conpare myself to in most of my life. And il so sad the backseat he's taken since he's "a sentimonster" reveal thingy. They REALLY wanted to lean on that but not state anything in black or white. Because idk ... But yes. Theres no hope for Adrian. At least i dont think. At all. He will from now on just be... The other titular character guy who's there too because toys
@@liahebenIt's definelty an insert. I've read a multitude of miraculous fanfiction, and the show seems to be heavily inspired from some of the most popular ones. Like one fanfiction was about Felix finding about Gabe first and getting the peacock, the show went in the same direction. Lots of fanfictions with brilliant writing handled sentimonster very well. But the actual show? They failed the concept and execution horribly.
@@liaheben oh yeah totally. It's my assumption anyway hence why the show never explicitly said Adrian Is a sentimonster and left it up to interpretation. I call It the GoT effect. Where the writing team saw something online then proceeds to dodge it. Or to copy it. Even if in context It doesn't make any sense.
@@sparkyblue7016 I've read Astruc being very rude with the fanbase and the autors of fanfiction of miraculous, but it's clear that the creator's team has used several fan material and Astruc is in denial. They could have used others and fixed the huge plot' holes
@@rosamontano6744 the way of how the creator's team dealed with the fanbase was so bad. In the Paris' Special they forgot that Chloe couldn't be the bad girl because is a REVERSE universe. And the fun part was that the CN and LB of the reverse universe KNEW how to fight the akuma/kamiko.
He was left without father and likely without a mother, I thought we would see him eventually reconcile with his father, and Gabriel getting a redemption arc and finally moving on from trying to revive his dead? wife but nope
i can only assume that adrien wasnt allowed in the finale for the sake of the secret identity angle. if he faced off with his father ladybug would, most likely, find out his identity which i guess the writers didnt want to sacrifice. (possably for future drama)
@@cjgamer6356 Yes! Like If They really didn't want the reveal, they should make Adrien fight by himself, not Marinette! @@bellmell_ Yeah that makes sense but they have done the reveal twice already only to reverse it at the end. Also Adrian would have revealed his identity to his dad and knowing Gabe would use the bee miraculous to paralyzed his son and make his wish the only difference is Adrien/Cat Noir would tell Ladybug/Marinette that Gabriel was Monarch and that he failed to stop him from making a wish that killed him at the end
In season 6 I’m just hoping that Adrien finds out his dad was Monarch, which will lead to him finding out that ladybug lied to him about his dad being a good dad and a hero when both is a lie, the reveal isn’t even my main priority at this point, my priority is that Adrien finds out his dad was Monarch, I guess I’m gonna have to add this too but without him getting akumatized, no memory wipe or whatever, I remember when the reveal was my main priority but now it’s the last one cuz I just want Adrien to find out his dad was Monarch so he knows also that his dad abused him his hole life, I’m 10000% positive his mom abused him his hole life too, that’s besides the point, he deserves to know the truth and not get akumazied, the only reason I have hope left is cuz I want it to happen and cuz I’m too emotionally attached to the show
The only thing I can think of that could save the fact he wasn't there for the reveal is if Cat Noir finds out what happened to Gabriel and then blames Ladybug for his death and then joins Lila for a bit to try and get the ladybug miraculous and wish his dad back and plans to sacrifice Ladybugs life for his dads
That's not a bad idea. I was also thinking of him maybe taking the bunny miraculous, or even asking Alix for his help somehow, and going back in time to hear it from his father himself. I think it would make things more interesting for next season.
Adrian already had a hard time getting good development when it was just him and Ladybug. Imagine how it's going to be with him sharing screen time with a bunch of other full time heros.
I really hope they do a bit of a ..this isn't the finale it's just the season finale so now.. adrien somehow finds out the truth is mad or sad. And goes into a anti hero before I guess getting re directed MY marinette or like changed into himself again but this time he's more cautious more ..not so happy and easy to trust and if that dosent work heck you can even make it so he teams up whit lila for abit then when he's saved flipping reveals her identity and ladybug and chat noir beat her up and end of show have an episdoe where it shows Paris happy boom done that would be atleast satisfying in my eyes but idk abt your opinions
True but sadly SAMG studio is so expensive & Thomas said it would cost a fortune to make a spin off. For me in that series I would push it to PG-13 since Shady & Claw are both psychos I can see them doing not so friendly kid stuff.
We could actually get to see these variants too, if not the one of Natalie from that universes and the movie versions of those characters too perhaps interacting with the show versions still alive there
We’ ve reached a point in media where consistency is praised instead of expected. Where trying to crest twists and turns in the narrative is more important than making believable characters. If the show was consistent and believable Cat Nior would have at least TRIED in the finale. I dislike Adrienette for a few reasons, on of them is that Marinette became a better version of herself while Adrien became a worse version of himself!
The only thing to save this show is to roll with it. Have Adrien begin to realize how he’s been sidelined and run with it. Either have him confront her, or more interesting make him a villain. Imagine he realizes she doesn’t appreciate him and lied to him about his father. Maybe involve the sentimonster theory. Have him go rogue for a few episodes. Have them fight, add emotion and end it with ladybug swearing to take him more seriously. He rejoins the team and is more important again. That’s a way to make the bad writing work and get Adrien be more important again. But let’s be honest that will never happen.
While i didnt hate the finale as everybody else and also i think that adrien not knowing creates really good future plot points, still i have major problems with the finale and i think that there was a way that cat noir could have been there in the fight and still not know about the whole thing gabe( like i dont know, knock him out during the fight during the fight with a baseball bat or something). Also honestly as long as astruc is still the captain of the ship adrien is always going to be the damsel in distress to be always saved by the shining knight that is marinette(i think astruc even said that) and also as long as astruc is still here the show is as good as it is. I still like it and i liked season 5 overall, is just that i think that show has potential to be better and greater that it is but oh well
Just because it’s a kids show that applies to girl, it shouldn’t be an excuse to deliver less of your show. My go to example is my little pony friendship is magic. Yes it was a kids show, but the staff knew that there were more adults watching then kids, and didn’t hold back when it came to mature subject matter. There were even episodes, that were intended for adults, with references to older shows, and even some interesting world building. Just because your a kids show, doesn’t mean you should hold yourself back like this.
It’s already too late for Adrien. He reached his prime in season 3 and by 4 he was treated like shit. Then 5 made his a simp and a non important character in his own show that is LITERALLY ABOUT HIM! But instead it’s the Marinette show. I would be ok with it if the only thing that wasn’t important about Marinette is her love life, which is dull, and Marinette is only obsessed with Adrien and got rewarded for her actions in season 5 by having Adrien out of nowhere gets interested in Marinette (yes it is out of nowhere) even though Adrien was obsessed with Ladybug in the previous four seasons.
Poor Adrien, I remember often snorting and rolling my eyes when I saw him regularly diminish in this series. 😥 I have a lot of fear for the future, especially since Astruc finally seems to stay even though he had announced that he would only be on the series until the end of the Gabriel arc which lasted only 3 seasons too much!
Adrien had potential to become more such as knowing Guardian Fu as himself & being able to chose the miraculous. It’s just so stupid that Thomas who chose to replace Felix for Adrien as Mari’s love interest but can’t write him correctly, pushes him to the side & have Chat be abused as comedy. Growing up with shows such as Kim Possible the writers knew how to give spotlight to both partners & have Ron grow as a character. S6 for Part 2 it will look pleasing visually but the writing we’ll see if they can change it up a bit. I hope Thomas isn’t no where in the writing room ever again. Him acting like a baby on those who know better than him in writing great characters & stories is embarrassing.
@@littlesparrow303 He would be in charge of the Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir Awakening movies, season 6 of the TV series, and the rumored live action reboot series that he leaked way too early
Your soo Right 😢. For example the end of Chat blank. It really pissed me of that a caracter Like him didn’t let the akuma Go by himself, NO , ladybug tricks him becouse she knows he Simps vor him 🤌💀😞😓🙄😳🤦♀️… Love your Videos ❤
The only way Adrien can be salvaged now is to build uo him slowly realizing marinette shat on him and have a big split where they eventually figure things out maybe after a physical fight. The show has the possibulity and means to do this but likely no will.
I really loved Adrien so much. I’m not happy with what Astruc did to him. Season 6 better treat him better and beyond. Because if he doesn’t, we’ll find out! We, miraculous stans, can see EVERYTHING!
The reason, why CN wasnt included in the fight: So, that his dad can win that fight. Ladybug losed the final fight, or (was stunned)? Would CN be there, had they probally be won and the wish couldnt have come (but, could have given him the choice to support his dad or not).
I feel like a villian arc for Cat Noir would be good but at the same time I don't think they would do it, personally I would love him to realise what had happened then maybe some Marichat and a Chat Blanc type story line, maybe him teaming up with Felix or something like that. Something to make his character less perfect and maybe have an actual effect on the story.
You really can see how thomas has a obession with ladybug/marinette. En put a middelfinger to adrian/catnoir. Also that cat noir almost killed kim for Marinette……doesn’t fit with his personality. But yeahh like i said thomas has a obsession with marinette/ladybug….
I would say that if Adrien learns the truth about how Gabriel died in Season 6, then it wasn’t too late for him. I think the reason why Ladybug defeating Hawk Moth by herself was a misguided attempt on Astruc’s part to demonstrate “female empowerment”, even though he doesn’t really understand what that means. Also, don’t forget to rewatch Origins so that you can finish your Season 1 retrospective.
But fot that you have that to agnowledge how messed up it was to gaslight him, especially from marinwette who ways that she can trust her. If that is shown as the reason why he gets corrupted by something, and the show agnowledges that , could maybe. Or she does overstep more and nmore and becames practically villainous, and its agnowledged.
It's exactly what he has said. No one truly hates the show more than the fans themselves. I just really hate the show writers for doing Adrien so dirty like that! Sure, Marinette is the main character in the show, but Adrien is the male lead in the show! Season 4 really set me off as Cat Noir was treated like absolute garbage that season. It was so bad to the point that he felt like he was just another holder, when he got his miraculous the same day Ladybug got hers! While I do think it's cool that Alya got to know Ladybug's identity and got to play a bigger role among the team, it just really pisses me off how Cat Noir, her main partner, was booted off to the side, making Alya seen as more important than him by Ladybug! It's like all those moments he was there for Ladybug were all in vain! Not to mention that he was left out of the final battle against Monarch, which makes me MORE pissed off considering that Monarch was his own father! What makes matters worse is that Ladybug had hid the secret from Cat Noir and she doesn't know that he and Adrien are the same person! She is hiding way too much stuff from him and it's making me hate the show so much because of the poor writing. I swear, I will absolutely lose it if Marinette/Ladybug doesn't eventually tell him the truth. I wouldn't blame him if he broke up with Marinette if he found out from somebody else (most likely Lila) that she hid this from him just because his abusive father doesn't want him to know the truth. Adrien deserves so much more! At this rate, the show may as well be called just Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug since Cat Noir isn't being treated as if he's important. The list can go on, but my comment is definitely way too long, which I apologize for 😅.
I kinda wish for Adrien and Marinette to break up. I mean this could show kids that not all relationships last. Just because someone says you’re soulmates doesn’t mean you have to be with them. I really just want to see Marinette move on from Adrian. And learn from her experience with him. They can still be friends. I just wish the the show didn’t keep saying they were made for each other. It’s starting to get annoying. And I’m not saying there aren’t relationships that last forever. I just think they were better off as friends.
I mean, his girlfriend literally has a magic ring that can make him do anything she wants. It's perfect for her but not that great for him. I can't help but think that eventually, Marinette's going to use it in a way he doesn't want. Telling him to "stay" against his will when she's overwhelmed or something. Which could lead him to questioning why anyone with that ring has that effect on him. Just...let him find out he's a Sentimonster and let the drama begin! And that could give us a road to making Adrian a lot more interesting. Especially if he finds out about his dad, too. Maybe even leading him to be the true final boss of the show. All this makes a lot more sense if there's consequences in the next few seasons. And a lot of this sounds a lot like a supervillain's origin story. Ladybug VS Cat Noir, anyone? They've even kind of foreshadowed it with Cat Blanc, in a way.
I still think there's potential in his character especially the scenario where if it comes to it, finding out that his father was monarch because that would be interesting to see if it ever happens
I feel like Adrian should have been there but when he finds out his dad is Hawk moth and the reason his mother died was because of him he could have gave up and gave the black cat miraculous to ladybug so they can still have her defeat Gabriel I know this would reveal his identity to Marinette but the only reason that was bad idea for them to know each other Secret identity is because Adrian’s father was the villain so he can make a plan to always get the black cat miraculous but both Marinette and Adrian don’t trust lila so she can really explote that as much as gab can even if she in disguise as someone else I doubt they’ll trust her since she still acts the same
Ladybug: its too dangerous to know each others identities. Ladybug: I CANT TRUST YOU Also ladybug: looses all the miraculous Reveals her identity to Alya cause she cant shoulder all the responsibility Luka knows but faces no consequences This show is just a hypocrite atp
Not to mention that there are multiple people who know her identity. I find it ridiculous how she keeps telling Cat Noir their identities must be kept secret, and yet she rants out about her double life out in the open, leading to Kagami finding out, which is an absolute ridiculous way for her to find out
sometimes i feel like the writters and director forgot that it was lady bug AND cat noir, not just ladybug, maybe thats why he got such bad development over the years 🤦🏾♀️
Apparently next season there is going to be big changes to both the animation, and they way they right the story so if they can find a way to fix this ending that would be great. I will take time travel if you have to use it but fix that ending. you don't what to know how mad I was. I just in a bad mood for the rest of the day thank writers. Anyway back to how they destroy him completely. I see what the writers were going with season 4, but they missed it up so bad. I think if the ending of that season hadn't been so good then it would have been hated as much as season 5. But in season 5 help him grow gave him development gave him more to do. If they can keep that and not just pole a yeah Mari is going to defeat a villain that he should have defeated. Again then next season is going to be great. He was more imported had more to don't tell us that that was the ending you had planed from the start because that is BS. Any way I can hope next season is better and resolves that god awful ending that be great.
Speaking of Cat Blanc, I think they could redeem him by having him as a split personality for him after the psychical damaging impact that nightmare his dad unknowingly unleashed on him as Night Tormenter that makes him think he's his conscience rather than a sadistic, and sociopathic manipulator and controlling him after Marinette gave back his freedom in the S5 finale say like a "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde" scenario like with Norman Osborn and his "Green Goblin" personality before he realizes that Cat Blanc had been manipulating him without question and taking the fight to him internally into his own mind like Peter did with the symbiote in episode "Intervention" from "The Spectacular Spider-Man" after Felix Fathom/Argos and Cerise/Chrysalis become the next main anti-heroic antagonists for the show now which they would be like anti-hero versions of Ladybug and Cat Noir and his Cat Blanc personality would be like their Monarch to have no choice but to face off against too while giving all the screen time to those two instead just like "Avengers: Infinity War" focused more on Thanos than the actual Avengers before Marinette and Adrien are given the focus back on them and even meet and mentored by their own multiversal variants from the movie and the reformed ones from the Paris special as their own personal Marinette-2 & Marinette-3, and Adrien-2 & Adrien-3 and a hopefully reformed Chloe from her trip after being defeated as Queen Mayor tries to snap Adrien back to reality that Cat Blanc isn't really Adrien's friend and not to be trusted either. BOOM! EPIC ADRIEN/CAT NOIR REDEMPTION THERE
I was very disappointed by the ending, and Marinette making Gabe aka: Hawk Moth actually a hero, and getting a statue! was just dumbfounding!, even if he swapped his life for his wife's doesn't excuse the horrible stuff he did really or make him deserving of a statue or praise!!, but all the characters are just goldfish in a bowl me guess. This is not the kind of rep I'd want for a "female" superhero to be very HONEST! ;As another side note I guess maybe if Adrien was their the Cat Blanc effect that they teased so many times may have happened if Adrien was there and that's the only excuse that comes to mind not having him there, but the ending was just very dumbfounding, and disappointing!
I really hope season six starts with gabe using the pig miraculous to make mari-sue envision that whole fever dream finale so that maybe they can try again and make it right, and as a plot point after mari has to question what is real or if someone’s using the pig miraculous. Boom a way to fix Adrien’s character arch and bring some focus back to mari. After that plagg can fly the ring back to Adrien, gabe gets the ladybug miraculous. Chat noir comes in and fights gabe and what happened with mari can happen to adrien with him asking his father to change, and then gabe can sting him with the bee miraculous (cuz he’s trash) and use his wish to revive Natalie (bc I like the idea of him “sacrificing” himself but still being selfish, leaving his son all alone when he gets to go with his wife to wherever) adrien is mad at his dad bc obviously. The people of the world realize that the aliance rings made by gabe, who was hawkmoth were bad and thus, gabe was probably bad, mari can still give out all the miraculous the end
4:21 honestly, I’m still so so pissed off about this even months after the season came to an end. i’m aware marinette is the main hero yea da yea da, BUT REALLY?? the main villain is adrien’s literal father. it’s criminal that he wasn’t in the finale.
You know what, I have an idea. So far, Ladybug is the MAIN hero, is guardian of the Miraculous and with that HAS all of the miraculous. Cat Noir is just there to tank all the things the villains shoot at them and get evil/mindcontrolled/trapped/etc. Even in his personal episodes like Lies, he sacrifices himself. But when I looked back at episodes like Revolution and Miracle Queen, he was an equal character, you know why? He had a SECOND miraculous. In the New York special is revealed that there are more miraculous boxes than just the Chinese version. So… I think that at the start of a new season, the two should discover a new miraculous and give it to Cat. Then he will shine again. You sas how responsable he can be with the Time-themed miraculous, which are the most dangerous ones. So I think he deserves a little promotion and, IDK, give him the miraculous of the wolf or something, PERMANENTLY. This would really help him out.
As much as I want to try and like this show, I actually really dislike it. I can hardly stand to even watch a full episode because the writing is just disappointing. Ignoring favorites or gender audience, Adrien should have been the protagonist instead of Marinette. He’s directly involved with everything because of his father, but Marinette is just…. There. The girl hero that’s supposed to be the chosen one for no reason what’s so ever other than the fact that the writers have no actual concept of professional story writing.
When he finds out that Marrinette and ladybug lied to him about his father he might brake up with her that will give him some story poor girl are boy will be saved
That what is needed is for him as chat noir be told that Gabriel was hawkmoth and him just snapping that "she told his son and that he is not human" and that "she didn't decide everything on her own with the son deciding if his father should be outed or not"
And if ever loses his surrogate mother figure Natalie and his future wife Marinette and their kids he could wound up in a dark but worse place than his own legal dad once took down before
sorry that this is what im using my comment for, but im doing chores while listening to this and when you said "gabe arc" i thought i heard "gay bark" and had to drop everything to rewind

Adrien was putting on a ''perfect'' act to look like what his father wanted him to be but his Chat Noir persona gave him the freedom to be free and do whatever he wanted to do
Mari needed a partner to depend on when she was panicking and Chat needed that special person to be his real self with after being isolated all his life.
I used to love Adrian. I really hoped he would blossom on his own.

Exactly and he even got better as the series went on and Kim actually appreciates him something that Ladybrat never could.
How? It’s called sjws and liberals took over.
He also had a Simi him movie
The way Adrien's character was treated should be a case study on how not to write a character.
Adrien's villain arc is the show's only hope.
Yeah, she has also made him incredibly vulnerable by not telling him that he is a Senti-being, and that his Amok is the ring(s), like imagine if he loses them. Some random person could just gain full control of Cat Noir, or worst case scenario, Lila or some other villain gets hold of it.
@@klaesjensen5930Exactly. The writers really robbed Adrien of his agency.
Doesn't Adrian know Nino's secret identity
@@cjgamer6356 Yeah, he does. Nino reveals it in the Illusion episode.
they threw away chloes redemption arc so clearly they didn't take notes from Zuko in avatar
So him getting blasted in Nightormentor was redundant?

Because not all Kwumis can have the same powers they mentioned that in the show

That's actually sounds kind of cool if it was a story, I'd probably read it.
Thomas, man you really messed up your show didnt you 💀
8:59 True, Adrien needs to have more episodes focused on him in season 6, especially to make for him not fighting in the season 5 finale!
The movie is better because Jeremy has the guts to face the critics and actively fix the mistakes of the show by using it as material for the movies.
This show had the potential to be just as good as avatar the last airbender. if done right what wasted potential
Yep!! That’s why I stick with reading fan fiction stories & the Japan Manga that doesn’t make Marinette look creepy/stalker but make her act like a normal girl
The potential this show had but wasted makes me so sad
Sadly the payoff for his character arc is dead and gone so there’s not much hope unless time rewinds with the Bunny Miraculous
The other titular character guy who's there too because toys
the sentimonster theory wasn't used in Gorizilla or in Catblanc so it seems an insert.
They had written episodes like Derision to prove that Chloe's fans were wrong and that Astruc was right with rants in X. And they only proved their bad writing. In the Paris' Special they forgot that Chloe couldn't be the bad girl because is a REVERSE universe. And the fun part was that the CN and LB of the reverse universe KNEW how to fight the akuma/kamiko.
Did the writers all just collectively agree to write Adrien out of the finale? Like, I genuinely want to know. 💀
I’m hoping the writers are teasing us. Adrien/cat noir will have his big hero moment soon (i hope)
Yeah, maybe fighting his internal "Cat Blanc" split personality perhaps
That is what this show needs@@hunterrousseau3770
He was left without father and likely without a mother,
I thought we would see him eventually reconcile with his father, and Gabriel getting a redemption arc and finally moving on from trying to revive his dead? wife
but nope
i can only assume that adrien wasnt allowed in the finale for the sake of the secret identity angle. if he faced off with his father ladybug would, most likely, find out his identity which i guess the writers didnt want to sacrifice. (possably for future drama)
Okay now that kinda makes sense but it should be been Adrian who fights his dad by himself
@@cjgamer6356 Yes! Like If They really didn't want the reveal, they should make Adrien fight by himself, not Marinette! But I think that if they were going make the identity reveal, it would be better if they both reveal their identitys. (Not only Adrien, because I think that If they leted her know his identity, he should be allowed to know her's as well.)
In season 6 I’m just hoping that Adrien finds out his dad was Monarch, which will lead to him finding out that ladybug lied to him about his dad being a good dad and a hero when both is a lie, the reveal isn’t even my main priority at this point, my priority is that Adrien finds out his dad was Monarch, I guess I’m gonna have to add this too but without him getting akumatized, no memory wipe or whatever, I remember when the reveal was my main priority but now it’s the last one cuz I just want Adrien to find out his dad was Monarch so he knows also that his dad abused him his hole life, I’m 10000% positive his mom abused him his hole life too, that’s besides the point, he deserves to know the truth and not get akumazied, the only reason I have hope left is cuz I want it to happen and cuz I’m too emotionally attached to the show
I still love him, but I fucking hate the writers. How are they still employed when they're so bad at their job?!
I agree the man needs to do more when he’s on screen.
You really daid what was on my mind! My beloved boy was Massacred!
I didn't even watch the whole video yet but my answer is definitely YES
The only thing I can think of that could save the fact he wasn't there for the reveal is if Cat Noir finds out what happened to Gabriel and then blames Ladybug for his death and then joins Lila for a bit to try and get the ladybug miraculous and wish his dad back and plans to sacrifice Ladybugs life for his dads
That's not a bad idea. I was also thinking of him maybe taking the bunny miraculous, or even asking Alix for his help somehow, and going back in time to hear it from his father himself. I think it would make things more interesting for next season.
@@JocyChick That's a good idea
@@SonicSpeedGaming759 Thank you!!
Like how Harry Osborn blame Peter Parker for his dad's death and tried to kill him only to find out the truth at the end
@@JocyChick you're welcome
Just ditch the main story and burn it and refocus on shadybug and claw noir, I want more of betterly 🙏
True but sadly SAMG studio is so expensive & Thomas said it would cost a fortune to make a spin off. For me in that series I would push it to PG-13 since Shady & Claw are both psychos I can see them doing not so friendly kid stuff.
We could actually get to see these variants too, if not the one of Natalie from that universes and the movie versions of those characters too perhaps interacting with the show versions still alive there
It must make astruc furious that fans prefer adrien/ cat noir over marinette/ladybug
Dont forget chloe :D Not the imposer taking her place actual chloe

I WILL FOREVER LOVE IT WHEN TH-camS HYPE UP ATLA TO SHIT ON THE SEASON 5 FINALE OF MIRACULOUS!!! 🎉
Adrien’s failed arc is the reason I prefer season 1-2 over 4-5, it just doesn’t work for me
Personally, I would like to hear your thoughts on how you would write this series if given a chance to completely rebooted from the start.
I still like it and i liked season 5 overall, is just that i think that show has potential to be better and greater that it is but oh well
Love your vids! Always play them in the background as my white noise
Ever since Style Queen I've legit only been watching for Adrian and Chloe's arcs. Ya'll know how that's going...
Adrien and Chloe deserve to be part of a better show.
To quote 'Galaxy Quest', "it doesn't take a good actor to recognise a bad one, you're sweating".
cat noir being the guardian of the miracle box would have given him more importance if they were gonna just make ladybug op all the time to win
Marinette is a character for the show to develop. Adrien is a tool for the show to use.
I have a lot of fear for the future, especially since Astruc finally seems to stay even though he had announced that he would only be on the series until the end of the Gabriel arc which lasted only 3 seasons too much!
You know I’m glad that the movie manages to fix this issue by having both Ladybug and Cat noir face off monarch together.
If this show is for young girls, why not make all female superhero’s? Because to me it feels like there’s no point in in making cat noir in the show.
Maybe the writers of Kim Possible should have been the writers for Miracles Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir
Jeremy Zag is the new writer for Miracles Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir
@@cjgamer6356 only if they spoke French or if the same people are still around doing writing for shows 😅

Your soo Right 😢.
For example the end of Chat blank. It really pissed me of that a caracter Like him didn’t let the akuma Go by himself, NO , ladybug tricks him becouse she knows he Simps vor him 🤌💀😞😓🙄😳🤦♀️…
Love your Videos ❤
The only way Adrien can be salvaged now is to build uo him slowly realizing marinette shat on him and have a big split where they eventually figure things out maybe after a physical fight. The show has the possibulity and means to do this but likely no will.
I really loved Adrien so much. I’m not happy with what Astruc did to him. Season 6 better treat him better and beyond. Because if he doesn’t, we’ll find out! We, miraculous stans, can see EVERYTHING!
The reason, why CN wasnt included in the fight:
So, that his dad can win that fight.
I feel like Adrian should have been there but when he finds out his dad is Hawk moth and the reason his mother died was because of him he could have gave up and gave the black cat miraculous to ladybug so they can still have her defeat Gabriel I know this would reveal his identity to Marinette but the only reason that was bad idea for them to know each other Secret identity is because Adrian’s father was the villain so he can make a plan to always get the black cat miraculous but both Marinette and Adrian don’t trust lila so she can really explote that as much as gab can even if she in disguise as someone else I doubt they’ll trust her since she still acts the same
he is not being in the end,is always going to be a disrespect
Ladybug: its too dangerous to know each others identities.
Ladybug: I CANT TRUST YOU
Also ladybug: looses all the miraculous
Reveals her identity to Alya cause she cant shoulder all the responsibility
Luka knows but faces no consequences
This show is just a hypocrite atp
Smarty the decision to make not confront was made back in 2015 back in tf1 commentary
I like that ending better if only Jeremy Zag was in charge of the season 5 finale
I don’t think Adrien will break up with her, but it will definitely cause tension and he probably won’t trust her for a while.
That what is needed is for him as chat noir be told that Gabriel was hawkmoth and him just snapping that "she told his son and that he is not human" and that "she didn't decide everything on her own with the son deciding if his father should be outed or not"
I believe he's an orphan now.
