I’m gonna need a season 3 premier by the end of the year/beginning of next year before I believe all those claims that we won’t suffer like we did with this season
If you think its amazons call and not inept producers being unable to deliver sub par animation.. when fuutrama and simposns and family guy and american dad and whtever else were spitting out 15-20 episodes a year... well you are quite mistaken
I've seen plenty of talk and buzz about it. It just didn't have any massive "break the internet" moments like Nolan killing the Guardians or Nolan beating down Mark, and it didn't need them either.
It was a very good season, but like you said there weren't many shocking or overly climatic moments. The only "weakness" this season has is that it is more set up for the truly epic things to come.
Totally see what you mean. For me, that lizard league fight was that moment for me this season. This season felt like it focused more on the emotional weight all these characters shoulder and developed them enough to pull at our heartstrings when something insane pops off.
Tbh, this season was mainly setup. After this point, season 3 is where shit gets real. Like, if anyone read chainsaw man, you could equate what's gonna go down in season 3 to what happened during chainsaw man after the bomb girl arc. In other words, expect chainsaw man ass pacing fr.
Cecil is such an underrated character this season. We see bits of humanity and compassion from him, but they're always covered by a veil of uncertainty. You want to believe he cares about the other characters, especially Mark, Debbie, and Donald, but you just can't trust him. Every interaction, word, and action has to be analyzed and I love it. We see a lot of his softer side but even then it might just be an act. I can't even blame the guy since he's up against random bullshit every other minute. Super secret government leader type characters are always either cold assholes or cool badasses. Cecil is such an interesting character.
I like the character of Cecil but people make him sound a lot more cloak and dagger than he has shown himself to be so far in the show. Every time he shows a softer side, it's played as genuine and does he ever really take advantage of people's trust in him? When he does manipulate people he doesn't even seem to hide it, he makes snide remarks like telling Mark his mom will just _love_ taking care of her ex-husband's new kid.
Its pretty clear that Cecil cares for his friends and employees on a personal level, but also that he would lie to and sacrifice all of them without blinking of it were for the good of the world and then have a cry about it later but not regret it one bit.
100% agree about getting more voice actors, it was getting really noticeable how many characters have the same voice actor as new characters were introduced
I’m bad with names but Amazon Prime Video has a feature that lets you see who the voice actors are in every scene and once you start consistently looking at it you realize that like 10 characters are voiced by the guy who voices The Immortal
Totally on the Mark and Amber stuff. I thought they'd ended like four episodes in a row and each time it was like "oh... they're still together? They're still having the same conversation as last time but haven't actually... ended it yet?" Felt real weird
Because in the comics he ended it as soon as he got back from space with sequids, because it wasn't fair to her, him being away so much. He also came back to her chilling in her room with some dude.
@@Neo.Jordon Yeah, so happy they cut that thing out, it painted Mark in a really ugly light... And of course, the way said dude turned out in the end wasn't all that pretty either...
I'm currently starting S2 from the beginning after just finishing the last episode to see if the change in pacing changes how I perceive the story. I enjoyed the season, but it felt disjointed, and some plot points seemed out-of-the-blue, but I suspect that's because I watched S2 weekly as the episodes came out.
@@JuliusCheeser223I just forgot about it tbh and then just saw they came back and was like oh nice. Plus bad batch season 3 came out soon after the mid season break.
Yep, I honestly feel like she was written WORSE in early season 2 just because of that. Instead of addressing the problem from season 1, they swept it under the rug and turned Amber into a different character, hoping that people would ignore it or forget. It just feels weird. Thankfully it resolved really well, but still.
I do like Rex’s development but I do think having him have such a change after being shot in the head was weird . If I was shot in the head I think I’d be a worse person after. Or I feel they should of given him more of a disability to adapt to after it, like he doesn’t even have a speech impediment.
@@felixowen2693it depends on the person really. Like I for one would probably be a better person solely because I'd be so grateful I'm still alive after getting shot in the head and make me rethink on my past actions.
@@felixowen2693 He was trying to be better before hand. Its obvious when he went to speak to Eve, although he wasnt perfect and wanted to slack off. But getting shot made him realise how fragile everything is
@@crimsoneclipse0618 no I mean I’m pretty sure losing parts of your brain result in aggression. Idk it might depend on what part of your brain goes away. Unless he was lobotomised and just chill.
Look a little deeper. Amber isn't understanding at all, it's still all about her. Post graduation, when they meet in the tree house? William says something goofy, Mark broods, Eve makes a short comment about helping with cleanup - and Amber goes into far too much detail about her helping out at the shelter. The talk between Mark and Art about girls? Amber is perfect and deserves better. Hell, she is so perfect that she feels guilty for stealing Mark's time away from people he could save. The damn BREAK UP scene they had makes Amber sound like the most entitled character in the entire show.... Imagine that wasn't Mark she was giving this speech to. imagine that was literally any other dude who has a dangerous profession, getting lectured by his girlfriend how him going out and doing something important makes her feel like she is bereft of "agency". I didn't think they could make that character worse, but somehow, they managed...
@JohnJohnson27-cs6ix Oh, great, the genius has arrived. go on, get it over with, tell me how I am stupid for discussing a fictional character and how its just a comic....
@@Alexander_Kale I don't think people think you're stupid for discussing a fictional character, if any of us thought that we wouldn't be here. It wasn't a "lecture." She was expressing her feelings. I think they said you have a problem because what you said indicates an inability to empathize and recognize that feelings aren't "right or wrong," they're just feelings. Someone isn't bad for expressing how they feel. And the way they feel isn't "wrong" either. She is, literally, bereft of agency - in 2 ways. First she feels she cannot express how she feels not because Mark is doing something dangerous; but, because Mark is doing something of UNIVERSAL importance. This strips her of her agency in the relationship, as she can never dictate terms without feeling guilty. Second, she lacks any physical agency because she can be squashed like a bug at any second. Realizing that would mess with anyone. She isn't entitled, she's human.
@@SydGhosh "any of us thought that we wouldn't be here" - you might be surprised at how often that turns out to not be true. I swear, it is a universal law or something. Whenever some fans are discussing their respective fandom on the internet, some smooth brain butts in doing EXACTLY what you just described.... That said: "This strips her of her agency in the relationship" which is the dumbest thing anyone can possibly say. It is off the scale, indisputably, inconceivably incorrect. Thank you for making my point for me.
Totally forgot about the show but your thumbnail reminded me the second half had been released. Thank you, would have totally forgot about it for a while otherwise lol. Spot on about the bleakness vs hope theme. A good superhero fantasy inspires heroism. A great superhero show includes the flaws and cynicism of the world. The best superhero story should ground itself in the bleakness and challenges of the world but inspire hope in spite of them.
Nah fr in the comic she literally is just depressed for half the thing and her story revolves around Nolan, she actually has gown to be her own person which is hella cool
Sandra Oh deserves a lot more credit for making Debbie such a compelling character. She is on the same level as Jk Simmons and Steven Yuen in terms of voice acting imo.
One thing I would like to see is her alcoholism because the attention it gets it the show is mixed, like sometimes it feels it’s played for comedy, so I can’t tell if they will actually dive into it because I wish they would, when she blames mark for Nolan leaving I thought that was super interesting and which a few tweaks could be a insanely good moment where Debbie isn’t just a victim that needs to overcome her situation but also inner own way a bad person that needs to improve herself beyond getting over what other people do.
i really wish i was a fly on the wall during the meeting in which amazon decided it would be a great idea to split an 8 episode season in half with a 4 month hiatus in between, it literally killed the momentum of the series :/
I agree with you increased size thigh streamer that I watch, it’s kinda hard to get into a good series when all the build up and investment is broken from a 4 month hiatus, not to mention this season felt like it needed to be way more than 8 episodes. Like 15 or 20 episodes at least because so much stuff like Angstrom or Mark’s relationships or Nolan and the Viltrumites are all crammed in way too badly
It probably went something like "man these strikes are kinda actually hurting our profits, so while we have to wait for the last episodes to be finished, how about we delay a few more months to release them until we roll out the ads system at the end of the tax year & add that premium tier? We can guarantee multiple months of subscriptions and take advantage of Spider-Verse being delayed and Marvel & DC slowing down their releases! We'll be the only new superhero property airing for everyone to watch and we'll rake in billions!"
Love the point you make around 8:00 - from the time I read Invincible I always saw it as the reconstructionist superhero story. Like okay, we've had all the stories about how living in a superhero world wouldn't be the four-colour fantasy of the golden and silver ages. How heroes wouldn't really be heroic. Now here's how they *could*, while still retaining the realism.
I’m okay with Mark trying live normal through the season because it shows how different he is from the other Marks we saw and why he won’t turn, also… Conquest will wake him up next season 😅
Think Amazon! Your release schedule will outlast the attention of every insignificant subscriber on Prime! You'll live to see the excitement crumble to dust and blow away! The hype and the momentum WILL BE GONE. What will you have after a 109 day hiatus?!
The show didn't lose it's hype though...it was getting 100k+ views in just a couple of hours on YT, a lot of people were talking about it on twitter, and agent spider increased the attention around it too...oh and it became #1 on prime.
For me Nolan was a mystery I didn’t know why he was doing things and each episode made me believe he was evil but I was never worried about mark shocked but not worried. Levy was finding ways to kill mark only showing up a few times but I was always wondering when he would show up and who was working with him I unlike Nolan who was evil levy was insane and his moments with marks mom had me so worried for her and the baby
Season 2 is good but not nearly as strong story-wise as the first season. This season is essentially dealing with all of the aftermath of season 1, which isn't necessarily a bad thing because it's good to have the character breathe and really feel the impact of what they went through. However, in season 1 you could definitely feel the build up as to where the season was leading ultimately culminating in the last two episodes of the season being full on epic. Season 2 ultimately feels like it is suppose to be a bridge just to get the audience from season 1 to season 3 which is where it suffers. Once all the seasons are out and viewers can continue straight through, I think season 2 will get more shine but all of the breaks did a massive disservice for this season.
3:20 I believe Mark´s arc is about him trying his hardest to convince himself that he´s not his dad, that he´s not capable of losing control no matter what the universe throws at him. Even if his mom and boss insist that he´s not him, Mark never truly accepts this. As Mark said to Darkwing´s sidekick : -You have no idea what im capable of. 3:50 thats kinda the point tho, Mark really doesnt wanna turn into a super-soldier that does Cecil´s dirty work. That´s why he wanted to make it work, to look for alternatives so superhero´ing isnt his go to, but Mark cant help himself. If he has the ability to help people, he will go where Cecil tells him to, because at the end of the day, there are lives at stake.
fully agree. While his arc is a bit similar to last season's he's trying to figure out how he can NOT just be a superhero. Last season was about him balancing being a hero and normal since he had to live the double life but now he has to choose.
Plus, it shows that Mark is similar to Nolan in more ways than the whole finale dilemma. He has superhero-ing built into his blood BECAUSE of his dad. It's why I believe that's the major thing that made Mark a hero in this universe. In most, his dad was probably more open with his Viltrumite side which influenced him to be more like "his people". Interesting stuff imo!

It's a theory that I haven't seen that many people talk about, but I think the break was a result of Amazon spreading out content because of the strikes. Because they were intent on not paying people for months, they decided to spread things out, since for the last few months, they've only had 1 big show running at a time
@@pooppoop8142 Invincible is one of their most popular shows. The other shows were probably already slated for a specific time and to reverse wouldn't have been worth it.
I was also floored by the fight in the atom eve OVA thingy. i saw a clip of the fight on yt and immediately watched the whole thing. I like how she is a foil to mark because her backstory is about being ostracized for her powers and them being a problem, while mark was basically raised as a superhero.
@@madtitan0825 i think she just learned to use them more effectively because in her episode, she was using her powers for the 1st time so she was creative with them but as she grew up she found simpler ways to deal with enemies remember how much collateral damage was there in her episode?
I was, but at the same time, I understand that the streaming model is collapsing, so if they don't put in ads, either they jack up the prices or cut content to meet their quarterly goals. Granted they're going to do all those things anyway, but if ads slow down the process, I'll take the small win where I can.
thats why they did a split in the season, the first part didnt have ads and then the second part did. Cant even watch fallout without ads now, how much money does amazon fucking need man?
I liked when they had the little joke about cutting corners in animation, and then later in the episode when Mark and Amber have their big resolution, they focus on all the things they said they ignore when they're trying to save time and cut corners. Was a really nice touch 👍
Marcus is like the 4th or 5th person I've heard say the Atom Eve special fight was on another level. Goes to show when you only have to animate one episode, you can put your all into it.
I have watched so many great superhero fight scenes but the Bridge fight in the atom eve special is Great. It's one of the best, if not THE best. I love how it was animated, the music, the camera angles, the choreography. Chef's Kiss.
The storyboard artist they hired for that segment boarded the whole thing like they were doing key animation, which is why the movement felt more dynamic. I wish they would spend the time and money on artists like him who are willing to go harder in storyboards like that.
3:51 The college stuff made sense to me, remember its the one bit of normalcy Mark has left everything else he has to deal with is either superhero stuff or world ending viltrimite stuff so at the end of the season when he decided to drop out its fairly obvious that its not a decision he wants to make its one he is being forced to make. Mark always wanted to be a superhero and he got his wish monkey's paw style in that it cost him everything else. Him wanting to go to college was symbolic of that, or atleast thats my interpretation.
I'm kinda worried Amazon is gonna pull the plug after season 3. If this series is going to cover everything in the comics than that's at least 8+ seasons of Animation, and if Season 3 is going to end where I think it is, it's gonna be a little bit before we get back in the action. I can see the end of Season 3 being a big dropping off point for many casual viewers as the show gets more weirder and more involved in their plots, similar to what happened to The Walking Dead (which is ironic lol)
Rex went through a huge redemption arc in season 2 and it made me like rex. Also everyone including Angstrom’s actor did a stellar job with S2 Also the agent spider josh keaton cameo, I liked it
it didn't even feel like it was a full second season. the second half of the hiatus introduced so many new characters and arcs, that it felt a lot was left unresolved.
The best part of their "hiatus" is that they didn't even announce the show coming back, I had to find out because people were posting spoilers it made me think "oh hey, invincible's back" instead of the 4th episode making me think "wow! I can't wait for episode 5 in 4 months!"
@@lorenzo5488Nah, the animation is generally better than season one as season one had way more janky animation than season two. Just go back and rewatch how janky episode four of the first season was and no episode in season two ever dips to that low of quality. Where season one was better was the direction as I think overall, season two isn’t nearly as well directed as season one, especially when it comes to fight scenes.
The college part for Mark was something I couldn't get invested in mainly because why is he there? What's his major? What's his future other than a hero? These questions popped up because why is Mark trying so hard to go to college? Is it solely for amber or is he actually interested in something? So far with season 1 we saw him want to be a super hero so badly and with season 2 him controlling himself and showing people in charge that he can be trusted. So, what's up with him trying to stay in college and for what?
because we wanted to be something other than just Invincible the Viltrumite. He didn't want to be like Batman where Bruce Wayne is basically non-existent.

This season genuinely had me crying at multiple points throughout the season and I'm glad I waited for the entire season to come out before binge watching it, I don't think it would've had the same impact on me if I watched the first part and then waited for the second part.
@@DefMM123 he was set up right at the beginning to be the big bad, then disappeared for the entire season, came back being petty as fuck, such a waste of time
Agreed with literally all of your points, but AMEN to the needing new voice actors bit. I will agree I have an ear that can pick up similar voices a LOT, but damn if it isn't distracting as all hell. ESPECIALLY with Amazon's X-Ray feature pointing out just how many characters Grey Delisle or Ross Marquand are playing in one scene. Having Ross voice both Rudy and Immortal knowing they'd have this many scenes together especially has been driving me crazy.
They literally sound nothing alike though, so what’s the issue? Seriously, is everyone forgetting it’s not uncommon for voice actors to have multiple roles in the same show? Animation allows for shit like that, and as long as the voice actors are good there really isn’t an issue. And so far, none of the Invincible voice actors have been remotely bad or mediocre.
To be fair to amazon, I think they did not know it would take this long to create season 2 and were worried that waiting too long would kill the hype entirely so they hoped to give us something in the waiting period
Their *real* reasoning for the mid-season break was to 1. Work on season 3 during the break, to get it released earlier, and 2. Apparently Amazon implemented commercials to its standard tier of Amazon Video subscriptions. Guess when that happened? Inbetween the hiatus. You can avoid the commercials, with an added fee of course. I remember when they said that they wanted the fans to “Digest what they saw in episode 4” during the break but like, dude, whats there to comprehend or digest? You painted it quite clearly.
I hate how defanged and non flawed Amber is this season, she's so fucking boring because they're so afraid of people disliking her, it really sucks. All that was needed was an in show acknowledgement of her being in the wrong for how she acted despite knowing he's invincible, maybe have her apologise, not take away her personality
The only issue I have is that its complete whiplash from how her character was in Season 1. She went from hating Mark for lying to her and not prioritizing her to now being walked all over. Idk, it would’ve worked better if in Season 1 she found out by herself but is supportive of him at first, then as Season 2 progresses we see the relationship start to falter and we see her start getting more irritable and sad. It would kind of parallel what Debbie goes through but Mark, unlike his dad, would cut the relationship off before it gets to that point.
@@Matty002 Avatar, Spectacular Spider-Man, Teen Titans, Ben 10, ninja turtles, samurai jack, arcane. Like a lot of western shows have fighting in them, especially kid shows.
This show is the definition of a scattered plot. It feels like an entire show made of filler arcs, with not enough time dedicated to actually making us interested in anything beyond the first season
I feel you on the Action bit. One of the best parts of superhero stuff is heroes using their powers to creatively combat the villain's, so when you have two people with basically the same powers fighting, it can come out pretty dull.
They better not repeat the same eight episode's split in season three. Especially if they adapt the important narrative after Mark defeated Angstrom Levi.
My biggest problem with the animation is that everything is light up. there are no shadows. Im tired of how bright this show is, where does all this light come from.
I appreciate the meta humor when Mark visits the comic nerd convention type thing and gets exposition dumped about how to save money on animation so there can be more nice battle sequences while they employ and highlight the tricks talked about.
Yeah I, too, hope they make the fights incredibly tedious talk-fests where nothing happens for 3 episodes and we constantly cut to every single character's reaction to each energy blast and punch-through-a-mountain
100% agree about Mark. I'm not sure why he loves Amber that much or cares about college when he is busy dealing with aliens on other planets, that of course he was going to inevitably go away from her. I mean the part where he looked at Amber for the last time wasn't that emotional but only for the context of dealing with killing.
I really wish the explored why Mark was so hellbent on going to college. Like in season1 he says hes always wanted to be a hero, so why does he care about college so much? It isnt a plot hole but it's something i think they should have brought up more
As a fan of the comic and masterpiece of a cartoon. Yes. I think it was robert kirkman's decision to delay the show. Glad im not the only person that thinks grey delise's voice got distracting. She can only do 4 voices.
Dude invincible is so good that me and my friend basically forced our friends who weren't into it to watch season 2 with us and within an episode or two they were just as into it as we were. I even got one friend to read the comics. The release schedule is undoubtedly wack but invincible is still the best American animated show currently ongoing.
It took me a long time to get back on track but it was well worth it. Loved everything about this season. Though they may be rushing a bit to much now? I don't know, didn't expect to see Kate back so early but I'm not complaining. Loved how Rex really got the spotlight. Also love how they are teasing Eve x Mark. Debbie is obviously one of the best characters.
I'm just curious if Rex's voice actor is actually gonna voice older robot. he did it in the finale and it was a little jarring to hear the guy typecast as the dumb jock asshole play an intelligent character for once lmao
Idk how the adaption of season 3 is gonna work, but I'm gonna need you to expect some chainsaw man ass pacing. If u don't know what that is, read it, but if you need context basically crazy shit is going to start happening back to back and honestly this season was meant to set a new status quo only to do some crazy shit.
@@ScripFing Well, that was the universe without Mark. So we don't really know what'll happen with Rex/Robot, but if it follows anything like the comics, it sorta makes sense for Rex to take the mantel of Robot.

I'm sorry, that kind of sucks the romance right out. I know it ain't gonna happen, but Rex and Eve kinda seem like they'd be the more interesting pair.
Only massive problem I have with this season is Omni-Man's ridiculous, extraordinarily change from total murderous psychopath to nice guy on a freaking DIME, literally several months time. Maybe the comic did that far better, I don't know, don't read comics, but he had a wife and son for DECADES on Earth and it barely had any effect on him at all, yet he leaves Earth, gets a new wife and son, and suddenly he's totally changed??! "I think I miss my wife." - who wrote this shit? Do they think people work that way, like there's a switch in every mass murdering psycho's mind you can just flip?
Ah yes, Nolan loving Mark so much that it lead to him abandoning his mission obviously showed that his time on Earth had barely any effect on him. Season 2 Nolan didn't change, he was coming to terms with his change.
@@Peasham That's not much of a change, sorry. He stull murdered tons of people and was willing to murder millions more to get his way. Ambers character was such a waste of space. They spent a lot of time on her this season to show they course corrected her character from being so unlikable, but she just winds up being more of a prop than her comic book version. All this for a character that was going to be written out for eve anyway
I think they should lean into Agent Spider and give him a mini series. It could give fans a “Spiderman” esq show that actually feels fresh and more grown up than MCU Spiderman and even continue the Spectacular Spiderman tv show in a tongue in cheek way.
I'm glad someone put it into words how Amber was written this season. I really did expect her to just look straight at the camera and say "see guys, I'm not *that* bad"
Mark being fixated on collage for.. reasons.. was the most confusing thing to me. He never articulates why it matters to him beyond staying with his girlfriend.
I think it was a desperate cling for some normalcy in his life. The ending is him finally accepting he can't live that normal life and that he's now all in on the superhero life.
As someone with severe PTSD, the Mark arc is an exceptionally well done representation of the life around and outside of the obvious symptoms that are usually portrayed in media. It wasn’t until hearing that someone was bored with it that it really clicked how engaging it was to me. I think the disconnect with Mark’s story he’s talking about here kind of reinforces how alienating and difficult to understand that experience is, and, at least for me, really highlights how brilliant his story is
I felt like season 2 was significantly worse than season 1, and yes, it's partially due to the midseason break. Omniman in season 1 was the shows best character and his absence in the first 4 episodes makes for a much worse show with way lower stakes. He's also less interesting than he was in season 1, back when nobody knew his intentions or motivations and everyone was hiding their fear from him. Also on the topic of lower stakes, the fact that so-called "main antagonist" of the season is only in the first and last episode leaves the season without any stakes most of the way through. And thanks to the midseason break, I completely forgot about his existence at all until he finally showed up.
I read the series once the season went on hiatus and it’s crazy how much they improved on the source material. Debbie is a really good example because in the comics she’s basically a background character a lot of the time. Think that’s one of the shows biggest strengths: making the side cast feel a bit more fleshed out
I kind of like that everyone is voiced by king Ezequiel, azula, or the guy with one arm from the walking dead. I think it’s funny every time I notice it
i think i know why amazon waited 3 months to release. after logging in to watch season 2 of invincible, i only noticed 1 big difference, ADS. amazon waited to drop the rest of the season cuz they just rolled out their new advertising-free subscriptions. sneaky.
on the contrary, I think the side characters of season 1 were PHENOMENAL. Any scene with the mauler twins I watch over and over, they're just so cool. Damien Darkblood was so sick too!
I fully expected mark to come back to the planet terrified of the viltrumites and break up with amber because he needs to prepare the planet. But idk. Instead of prepare the planet, he strengthens it

I feel like "I thought you were Stronger" could've been the moment had it not been spoiled by most people
@@PugFeistI feel the same it definitely talked the social and mental aspects of being a superhero.
My favorite cecil moment was when Debbie was arguing about raising Oliver in a lab and he was like, "we paint clouds on the ceiling" 😭
100% agree about getting more voice actors, it was getting really noticeable how many characters have the same voice actor as new characters were introduced
also it would speed up production times once the voice acters got into the characters, because then more people can do more lines in less of the time
How many characters have the same VA? I only noticed it with Grey

Totally on the Mark and Amber stuff. I thought they'd ended like four episodes in a row and each time it was like "oh... they're still together? They're still having the same conversation as last time but haven't actually... ended it yet?" Felt real weird
Most realistic thing in the show honestly
Because in the comics he ended it as soon as he got back from space with sequids, because it wasn't fair to her, him being away so much.
He also came back to her chilling in her room with some dude.

Yea, I don't blame you. The blue balling was bad
I'm currently starting S2 from the beginning after just finishing the last episode to see if the change in pacing changes how I perceive the story. "I can't get mad at Mark or the fans will hate me again..." was my _exact_ thoughts on how they wrote her for season 2.
Yep, I honestly feel like she was written WORSE in early season 2 just because of that. Instead of addressing the problem from season 1, they swept it under the rug and turned Amber into a different character, hoping that people would ignore it or forget. It just feels weird. Thankfully it resolved really well, but still.

They definitely fumbled the bag with Amber in season 1, then overly course-corrected in season 2. It's such a whiplash
But... She didn't have agency in the relationship? @@Alexander_Kale

Grey Delisle only has so many different ways she can voice a character. It's so obvious when it's her voice.
OH BUT WHEN AVATAR USES STEVE BLUM FOR EVERY SIDE CHARACTER THAT FINE
Their *real* reasoning for the mid-season break was to 1. Work on season 3 during the break, to get it released earlier, and 2. Apparently Amazon implemented commercials to its standard tier of Amazon Video subscriptions. Guess when that happened? Inbetween the hiatus. You can avoid the commercials, with an added fee of course.
I remember when they said that they wanted the fans to “Digest what they saw in episode 4” during the break but like, dude, whats there to comprehend or digest? You painted it quite clearly.

It didn't really matter, this was her last season regardless.
I think people overreacted about her in season 1 she was no where near as bad as I heard people talk about her
The only issue I have is that its complete whiplash from how her character was in Season 1.

Yeah I, too, hope they make the fights incredibly tedious talk-fests where nothing happens for 3 episodes and we constantly cut to every single character's reaction to each energy blast and punch-through-a-mountain
@@brookejon3695 Exactly, then we have to wait for someone to make a supercut to see the actual fight from beginning to end.
It's a shame literally nothing happened this season
Debbie is also my favorite. Yes I'm a Mama's boy 😂😂😂
My favorite contrarian just uploaded!
This is my exact reaction when I get a notification from him
Contrarian? This guy holds every safe mainstream opinion 😂
i started watching it around when episode 5 of the season came out, it was really good!
I will never get tired of MvC1 music on these videos. Thank you Marcus.
I’m still not over his terrible Avatar take on Twitter but I see a new upload I click
What take?
Is it about the Netflix one, what did he say? I don't have Twitter
he really need to consider dropping twitter because it is frying his brain
I preferred the first season to the comics but the comics were better than this season
Dude invincible is so good that me and my friend basically forced our friends who weren't into it to watch season 2 with us and within an episode or two they were just as into it as we were. I even got one friend to read the comics. The release schedule is undoubtedly wack but invincible is still the best American animated show currently ongoing.
Mark's plotline this season was exploring what made this version of him keep his humanity and his struggle of why thats important to him.
@@ScripFing I mean it makes sense, he's a voice actor, a pretty darn well famous one, he'll put on one hell of a good Rudy voice
The Eve/Mark teasing was kind of awkward. Having her future version fly in and insist that he tell her young self that he loves her... that is the weirdest most awkward way to begin a romance. I'm sorry, that kind of sucks the romance right out. I know it ain't gonna happen, but Rex and Eve kinda seem like they'd be the more interesting pair.
“The ones that survived” literally nobody dies. It’s just a bunch of gore and they all live happily ever after this season.
Definitely made the season feel less important overall without the stakes.
The only person he could not bring himself to kill was his son, and that's only because psychopaths very often have any feelings at all *_only_* for their offspring (and usually only those of the same sex), because they see them as an extension of themselves. And themselves are the only person they are able to empathize with.
@@Christobanistan What "isn't" much of a change? There wasn't A change in the first place, Season 2 Nolan is an extension of Season 1 Nolan, and you thinking that he only cared about Mark and no one else is cute, but it is contradicted and proven wrong in season 2.
@@Christobanistanyou don't understand nolan character, he's not the le bad guy, he's a soldier who was bred for war and lived in a culture that worshipped that type of thing for 2 thousand years, his time on earth did change him and showed him new ways of experience life like actually being a protector instead of just destroying everyone, but he's still a 2 thousand years old soldier so of course all his training and ideology he cultivated would override the "fake life" he had on earth and push him to conquer the people, but he realized he was wrong through his son, very luke and darth vader type of scenario
@@thekrakensdaughter LOL, yeah, sure buddy. Humans aren't machines. We don't just flip switches like that.
Been waiting for this
As someone with severe PTSD, the Mark arc is an exceptionally well done representation of the life around and outside of the obvious symptoms that are usually portrayed in media.
Think that’s one of the shows biggest strengths: making the side cast feel a bit more fleshed out
Eve and Debbie are both much better. Mark's lucky.
I was just watching your season 1 review LMAO

I kind of like that everyone is voiced by king Ezequiel, azula, or the guy with one arm from the walking dead. I think it’s funny every time I notice it
i think i know why amazon waited 3 months to release. after logging in to watch season 2 of invincible, i only noticed 1 big difference, ADS. amazon waited to drop the rest of the season cuz they just rolled out their new advertising-free subscriptions. sneaky.
Great video and a thumbs up for the Manon SF6 theme music 👍
Been waiting for this vid
on the contrary, I think the side characters of season 1 were PHENOMENAL. Any scene with the mauler twins I watch over and over, they're just so cool. Damien Darkblood was so sick too!
I was thinking the same thing too. Season 1? Best thing ever. After ? " huh? What's that?" . That was quick .
I fully expected mark to come back to the planet terrified of the viltrumites and break up with amber because he needs to prepare the planet. But idk. Instead of prepare the planet, he strengthens it
