Whoahhh this is so new to me! I wish I saw this vid at the start of the season! Would've been great to practice sooner since my last meet is Friday, before states, if I even make it though
Update: Just wanted to say that before I ran my 200m, I had an overstretched back so I couldn't really run freely. Using this, I actually PR'ed from a 23.17 to 23.15 and honestly, I felt like I used so little effort with floating than going all out and keep pushing and dying out in the end. You're the best dude! Cheers!
Guys!! This is very good strategy!! I just beat my 200m record from 28.2 to 27.1 with my first try and it wasn't even that hard and it felt like I could do even better!! Thank you guys and I will post my progress within the next few days!😎
Jaret. I'm a 50 yr old Masters competitor and fairly new to track and field(former soccer player), about 4 years in. I run 200/400/800 as well as throw hammer and other compete in other field events. I just want to thank you for all the valuable information you're giving. I'm incorporating lot's of your workouts into my training, and it's starting to show. When I first started, I never realized how much tactics played into it.Thank you again, and keep posting great vids.
+Dennis Doyle Thanks buddy, I'm so happy to hear that its helpful for you! And kudos to you for training at 50 years old. Very impressive man....thats inspirational. I hope to train until the day they put me in the ground :) Lots more videos coming so stay tuned!
I remember watching these videos back when I ran track in high school. My best time in the 200m was 24.11. My best year as far as marks go was senior year. I ran a 11.88 in the 100m as well.
50 meters and 30 meters is only 80 meters you still need to run the other 120 meters.... its a 200 meter race and you should run past the finish line. you should run fast drive over 40 to 50 meters and float and try to find one extra gear as you round the corner and finish the last 100 meters.
Tim Welch you literally just said what he did, he knows you would run a 50m drive start then float for 30-50, and he asked how to run the last 120. are you illiterate? it’s ironic you didn’t even answer his question either
Lucian Irsigler for me i like to drive maybe 40m and float around 50, then i pick up my “effort level” slowly for maybe 20m. the last 90m is a mix between floating but primarily sprinting. you must keep energy to not completely gas out at the end, whilst keeping up or in 1st of your heat.
lane 5 was my favorite lane in my 400, and lane 8 in my 200. I liked running blind in my 200 because I normally go too hard if I can see everyone in the first 100m. it's been 15 years since I've ran, and I'm starting back up again. Thanks for the idea, this was similar to what our club did for 200 workouts. Great video :)
I am a 110m and 400m hurdler and I run 4x4 at a D2 university and your videos are really good. What helps me with my races, especially 200m+ races is keeping your form when tired, staying tall, pumping your arms, and always keeping big fluid long strides. Longer quick strides really make a huuuuge difference
_austinsteeby_ You can full on sprint for 200 meters. Explain how nearly all good sprinters have a 200 time that is less than there 100 time multiplied by two because obviously their start doesn't effect the time that much if they cant even sprint for a full 200 meters.
I don't think they are full on sprinting(you'd probably fall out at the finish line) but rather have better speed endurance and hit the gas again after the bend. Seems to me, sprinting is not entirely about speed as some folks like to make it out to be. It's how you use your energy.
Bolt is really a 200 meter runner specialist who happens to be very good in the 100 as well. He actually didn't even run the 100 and had to beg his coach to let him run it during the 2008 Olympics and we all know what happened there. Not every single person will fall exactly into these categories, just wanted to give a general idea.
Im not even one of those two runners. im more of a natural 200m runner. i dont have enough endurance for the 400 and my acceleration is not quick enough for the 100m. i ran a 23.82 at my 8th grade district meet and got 3rd. the float stage kinda comes natural to me. Thanks
+Jalen Gordon 23.8 in 8th grade is legit man, great job. And you can still apply these principles to run faster times. If you have specific questions let me know :)
i have been training for 3 years at a club, and been refraining competitions ever since because i’ve been too scared of the embarrassment if i loose. tomorrow i have a comp with school and which will hopefully help me gain the confidence. i’m doing the 200 and a 100 relay. will update on my place. i don’t really mind if i loose because it’s my first comp. (i’m 14) edit: really pleased with my place, i expected to loose because everyone else in my school weren’t doing that well. i was also against 2 private schools, and with not enough training i managed to come 3rd with 29.86 seconds, really good for my first competition yasss
I’m doing cross country for the whole entire school year to build up endurance, and then during the spring semester I’m joining track season so thank you for the video. I want to do either hurdles or relays/dashes so I’m just looking at all types of videos.
Today I’m going to run the 4x200 in my meet I’m so nervous but this helped a lot I’m definitely going to add in a “float” , cuz in the last 50 meters I can barely feel my legs I’m excited to try this. Thx Campisi
I compete too hard in my 200m dash. I get locked up in trying to beat the guy next to me so much so, that I forget to enter my 'float' phase after my first 50m drive phase. How do i float stronger so that I don't burn out my last 50m ?
Hello Jaret : I just wanted to thank you for your work, and for being so generous sharing your knowledge with us.I have returned to athletics at my 45 years old in 100, 200 and 400 m ( after being away from tracks 20 years...) and your videos have been a huuuugeeeee help. Besides being educational , you are entertaining and inspirational .Following your recommendations and training plans I have achieved many victories in local competitions. You don´t know how much you have helped me,really.Again thank you so very much and a big hug from Spain !!! .·.
+Juanjo Gonzalez awwww thanks man I really appreciate that. I'm so happy to have such a platform to give back and share information with other like minded people. And good for you getting back out there at 45! That's inspirational too man! I hope to be still doing this stuff as long as my body can handle it :) Keep up the good work yourself and lots more videos to come :)
I have done distance for about 7 years. But I started slowing down in highschool. I now only hit a low 5 minute or maybe barley under 5 minute. So I decided to switch into sprinting. I gotta say, everyday you get better. I'm only just a sophomore but I feel that I have good form. But I haven't been timed in sprints. What I did notice is that in sprinting, I only speed up the more I go. So I decided to do 200 because 100 im not full speed but other than that it's all good.
+Jaret Campisi I'm a 200& 400 guy. Freshman in high school going on sophomore year now. My best 200 time was (24.84) and my best 400 time was (57.94). I can go all out on a 200 because I have endurance from running 400's. Funny thing is this year was my first year running the 400 in meets and I was able to run it well under a minute as a freshman, when most coaches just wanted me to get it around 59 seconds because it was really my first time doing 400's. My only flaw in the 200 is that I'm not a good starter because I'm lengthy but when I get good starts in a 200 I can run a fast time.
very nice man, some solid times for your age. Also, keep in mind, taller runners usually take a longer time to develop so it might take a little longer for you to reach your potential but when you do, you'll be running very fast.
+Jaret Campisi Completed the 200m yesterday, got 31.33 and I'm not sure if that's good or not but I've never properly run the 200 before, but I'm happy.
not bad at all. comparing times is tough since its pretty dependent on your age, how long you've been competing, guy vs girl etc. So don't worry too much about the time just enjoy yourself :)
i have a track meet tomorrow and it’s not competitive it’s just with the schools in our district but i’m always so nervous. when i practice i always go full out without thinking of a strategy but during the race i have so much adrenaline and i’m only focused on passing the finish line that i just do whatever my heart tells me. i’m only running relay this time because i hate solo so that’s good but i’m still super nervous. also most of the time we get put in the first lane so i tend to think that i should go fastest at the curve since that’s where i get so catch up in people too but nope haha. i’m soooo nervou s
thanks for this, the continuous driving had been making me die off late and slowing me down. Wish me luck for my 200m trial tomorrow, gotta get that 23.5!!
Great vid Jaret! I've always been great at the 100, but the 200 is a bit of a weak point of mine because I lack some endurance. I've been running more 300's in training to help with that, but I will try to implement some of these strategies to help as well. Thanks
+Nick Waddell Yeah, I know a lot of 100 meter runners with that exact issue. Sometimes its due to conditioning and sometimes just due to how you're running the race. I think making some slight adjustments to your race plan will go a long way. Good luck and stay tuned for more!
Good workout. I especially like the part about doing the reps from different lanes because you never know what lane you'll draw on race day. I always compared the float phase, especially in the 400, to overdrive gear in a car. Going the same speed with less effort.
I'm here bc I've already watched the 100m tutorial but i wasn't too sure what I was doing in terms of the phases for the 200m and it REALLY helped I really enjoy the way these videos are made how he goes through each phase step by step this really helped wish me luck for my 200m tomorrow😁
just noticed, you run quite flat footed and sometimes heal strike. this is automatically breaking your speed- you'd be a lot faster if you ran on the balls of your feet and you'll be able to apply a lot more power into the ground
I need help. I am fat and whatevs, I can only dash fast. I rlly don't have endurance and can only dash;w; I rlly don't wanna embarrass myself in front of the whole school
Freaky Blank run endurance workouts, I was fat like you are and just worked hard for endurance and it payed off! If you have access to a track do these workouts: day 1: 2x400m 1 min or 2 min break in between, 3x100m with 1min break or 2, and after your done finish off with 4 flat forties which is a lay on your stomach and stand up and sprint 40 yards sprint
Freaky Blank there many more workouts to do but here's another one: mile repeats which is run a mile, take a 10 minute break and then run a mile again. This workout is hard for beginners trust me
I'm a 200 and 400 runner, PRs are 25.03 and 59.29 as a 9th grader with 1 year of track experience now. At my very first track meet I had no idea how to run the 200 or 400 and got 28.1 and 67.13 lol, usually I can go all out 100% in the 200 and never slow down, but the 400 is so damn hard. I think the reason my 400 time isn't better is because in the back of my mind I'm thinking about saving energy and run the first 200 so slow and still have no energy for the last 100 so I might as well run the first 200 fast, when I'm running 300s in practice on endurance day my times are consistently under 40 seconds so I just need to work on pushing in the last 100 and getting out fast in the first 150-200
Im an 11 year old girl, who needed these tips for my upcoming running race finals. These were really helpful and will definitely help me for the race. Wish me luck! // MAKE SURE TO REMIND ME TO UPDATE 👹👹
Thanks for all the track videos. I've improved my speed exponentially since applying myself to techniques, whilst maintaining my own unique balance. Thanks!
love to hear that! You're welcome buddy. I'll be doing lots more track videos once the pre-season rolls around so stay tuned. I've also got jcampfit shirts now available on my website if you're interested in supporting the brand, check them out :) www.jcampfit.com
Do you have any advice on getting better sprint endurance the last 60m of the 200m dash? I struggle with the last 60m of the race, because my legs get quite tired and I start slowing down. I´ve tried the race plan, but the problem is that I accelerate after the float phase, but only a couple of meters
Pretty much everyone struggles with the last 50 to 60 meters of a 200 meter to be honest. The two best things you can do is have a solid race plan and continue to get in better shape by training your strength endurance, speed endurance and speed training. I'd suggest picking up a copy of my run faster off season program. It has all of these elements and will help you improve for sure. www.jcampfit.com/store/p29/run_faster_-_off_season_track_program.html
okay can anyone help me. This is going to be my first year running track. People have told me I need to run because im pretty fast, but anyways I seem to have trouble balancing while running the curve, right after I get out of the curb i tend to feel like I'm going to fall forward on my face how can I fix this
Ren_Pres I remember my very first time running the 200 in 8th grade I was smoking the people I was racing and it was the first time ever the falling over feeling your talking about I never had just practice running the curve and I guess u will be fine
I I’m so nervous for sports day for my whole life one day before sports day I always do research about how to run fast but luckily I go for athletics every Wednesday so I might have a change wish me luck I will give an update if I win or not Wish me luck !!! Edit: hey guys I just did my sports day and I got gold totally recommend this method
imma tell you right now your time will not drop that far in 2 weeks but keep up the good work that’s a really good time for a freshman i know this was 11 months ago lol
HI Jaret. Firstly nice stride forms. Your strides look awesome. Going to probably ask a dumb question here. So a fit guy who is going to run all out in the 200m and accept he will start to get slower towards the last 100m . Will he always lose against a guy of equal speed and endurance who runs the 200m as you mentioned? I always thought just train to get fit as possible for the 200m and run all out and try to hold it on the last 100m . i feel bad. Been getting my boy to do it all wrong. If the correct way you mention works then this could help him shave some more seconds off!. I definately got to apply this principle of yours. Thank you
I ate no food and I drank a moderate amount of water before my 200. I also warmed up for an hour before my race. I ended up beating my PR by 2 seconds!
What if you can run the 200 all out without a float phase? It’s all just a mental thing for me and if I just scream at myself not to stop then I can hold a sprint for 200 to 300m
If you hold on by going hardware for the whole race, continue to go hard for it. It is suitable for those Who Cannot finish whithout collapsing in rhe second part of the race.
I tried your strategy out at my meet and it really helped! I did so much better than my last race. I could have gotten first, but the last 40 meters is very hard for me and I lose speed.
+Will Mitchell yeah buddy! So happy to hear that. As you get in better shape and learn to run more efficient and are able to save some energy while still running fast and staying in the race, you'll be able to finish better and better. Keep up the good work man. More videos coming!
+Jaret Campisi Im 15 years old and at my meet I ran a 12.4 and 25.4. I need to drop .4 to qualify for my league championship meet. Would you recommend any certain drills or workouts for me? Im more concerned about my 100 because it's mainly my speed, but for the 200 I just need to get in better shape.
+Will Mitchell at this point in the season the best thing you can do is work on your speed and try and get in a little better shape if possible. Just be careful you don't over train as that will actually cause you to run slower times. As you get further into the season you want to slowly back off on the training and as your legs get more rest you'll actually run faster.
oh okay. I really want to get my legs stronger at the weight room and I usually do legs 3 days a week. Should I keep doing that or back off a bit? Two days before my meet I did legs and the day before my meet we had a pretty tough workout , but I felt great running at the meet.
+Will Mitchell yeah I would start to back off a little as you get closer to your big meets for sure. Usually you want to focus on getting stronger in the off season and during the year your weight training is just to keep what strength you built during the off season.
ahggg that explains why the last 4 meets i've been dying after all my 200 dashes . nobody told me not to go all out . coach jus said that shit was a sprint . 🤣
i am a college athlete and i was a distance runner till this season when i sadly lost my endurance. i usually run 28/29 sometimes even 30 at meets for 200m but after watching this video and doing the workout just last week my time dropped to 26 flat. thank you so much
+Donne official wow thats awesome man, so happy to hear that! Its amazing what you can do with the correct knowledge on how to run races etc. Keep up the good work man. Lots more to come!
When running the curve do you recommend running into the top curve and running a tangent from the top of the curve to the to the part of the turn? Hope this makes sense
just run towards the inside of your lane and let your body lean naturally. You'll also want to shorten your strides just a touch and focus a little more on turning over so you are able to stay on the inside of your lane and make the curve as short as possible. That's about all there is to turn running so don't make it more complicated than it has to be :)
@jaretcampisi this was a great video I run a 11.9 in the 100 but I would be running high 24s and I knew it didn't match up because I kept dying in my last 50 meters but I watched this yesterday before my meet and I PRd with a 24.04 because I held the float and wasn't even exhausted at the finish line
+Amin Mustefa right on man, love to hear that! Its amazing what a good race plan can do for you. Keep perfecting that float and work on floating for less and less as long as you finish strong and your time will continue to drop.
I would say practice is best. The more you do it, the better you'll get eventually. You have to focus on the mechanics of it, because you can't keep running it the exact same way if it's not working for you. You have time, sometimes things don't happen exactly when you want them, but you definitely can do much better really soon.
+Unknow Unknow Breathing isn't something you need to worry about. Just let your body breath however it wants and concentrate on your running form and being relaxed and efficient. Your breathing will get screwed up and feel shitty if you're not quite in good shape yet so that will come with time. There aren't any special breathing techniques for the sprinting events unfortunately.
+Bob Lee haha wow thats freaking awesome! Its amazing how much of a difference it makes when you know how to run a race and understand how to do it correctly. Keep killing it man! Lots more videos coming.
Thank youuuu so much for your tips that makes a hush different for me. my 100m dash was 13:32 sec at first time and you know what after taking those tips from you and i use them now its 11:87 sec and that was the last friday. is it a good time ? ...im looking forward to hit 10sec can i ? Also i really liked the T-shirt on you how can i get one like it i really want it P.S: i Started Track&Field 4 Months ago.
+Mohaymin Elamri wow that's a huge difference! Happy to hear that man. And those are some legit times such early on in your career. Keep up with it and you'll do well. I've got shirts in production right now...they should be available by the end of the month...I will let you guys know when they are :)
I normally do 400m but yesterday i ran 200m for the first time and got 26.57 and i just used my 400 strat. Fast during start relax halfway then focus on something at the finish and go all out while mentally traveling to a whole different universe
Relax halfway? Nah that won’t work. Start off at full speed, maintain that speed, then really get your knees high up around your the curve of the bend. The transition from bend to straightaway you should be accelerating, or at least trying. First 30-50 on the straightaway will go by quick. Last 50 just work your arms and stride.
Why do you think my 200m is so much slower than my 100m?? Last seasons 200m PR was 22.8, along with an 11.27 100m. Now my season records are 11.35 and 23.7....
tough to say exactly...could be training, could get weight gain, could be not in as good as shape as before. There are a lot of things that go into it.
That’s still really good. You’ll just have to get used to the 200 and use the strategy he said in the video. Eventually maybe after a week or so of practice you’ll be improved more
+Neil McMahon haha thanks, I can still get up and go when I need to :) And yeah I include outtakes when they happen...surprised I normally get things on the first take...
This helped because I run the 100 meter relay and the 200 meter relay for my middle school but I’ve heard go as fast as you can for the 200 but seems no one on the team can go 100% the whole time * but we are all middle schoolers Edit: I have ran the 200 4 times at meets if you include relay and I’m 13 and my best is 25.8 and I say just go full out the whole race
What do you think about "the toe drag" when it comes to starting out of the blocks where the toe drags a bit so you wouldn't waste time getting your leg up. I've seen asfa Powell and Trayvon bromell do it plenty of times. Do you believe sprinters should use this technique?
Question, do you believe that sprinters should have their entire foot on the blocks, or they should have their foot on the track and the blocks while performing the 100M and 200M race?
The toe drag is very very advanced and is only used to get the last tiny drops of speed out of world class athletes so I would NOT recommend anyone trying it because if you screw it up, it will surely cost you more time then what you would gain.
How much of your foot you put on the blocks is entirely personal preference. Usually the stronger and more advanced you are as an athlete the higher up on the blocks you can put your feet.
thank you so much for this! I have a qualifying meet tomorrow where it is a 200m dash and I needed some tips so thank you for helping me with it! (it will be raining too😕)
I'm 13 and I ran the 200 in 27.64 and I've had a fractured spine for the past 9 months without realising and I'm not gonna be able to run under 30 when I go back
Manic Blitzz Hey I’m 12 I’m usually horrible at running the 200 I hate it I ran only 29 seconds but I got a stress fracture in my lower back it’s almost been a year and I’m still recovering best of luck to you!! But I also have lordosis which makes me more immune to it plus I did long jump also arching or hyper extending my back. I really hope you’re able to recover from it faster than me! Note: stretch a lot more often and start sweating before you run so you’re loosened up and don’t re injury yourself again!
Hey Jaret, I'm going to be a sophomore this year and my pb in the 200 is 25.15. I know i can run a 24 or possibly a 23 but I tend to slow down the last 20 meters. Any tips???? I run the 400 also, pb is 55.16
you'll need to work on your strength endurance. That is done with workouts that train further than the distance you run and other general endurance workouts in the off season and early season. I've got a bunch of videos on my channel in the "track and field playlist" and lots more on the way so be sure to check those out :)
If you collapse in the Last 20 meters, you dont do 23 seconds,we dont lose 1 second in 20 meters, while being launched,go 5 tenths so you Will be in 24,6-24,7 seconds
its normal to be nervous...it will help you focus and run better than you would if you didn't have it :) But save those nerves for before the race. In the meantime do other things to take your mind of it :)
Jaret Campisi JARET!!! I GOT 3RD PLACE. IN FRONT OF ME WERE LIKE 14-15 YO. (the 2 girls) I am so hyped. Ur video worked miracles. SUSBSCRIBED! my coach is outta town in this period so u helped me get through it. :>

Update: Just wanted to say that before I ran my 200m, I had an overstretched back so I couldn't really run freely. I remember watching these videos back when I ran track in high school. My best time in the 200m was 24.11. My best year as far as marks go was senior year. I ran a 11.88 in the 100m as well.
so its
Start
50m-Drive
30m-Float
is it the rest full out running or is there splits?

I'll be doing the 200m dash for the first time, I hope it goes well! :)
+AstridGalaxy good luck!
how did it went?
Did you do well?
WHAT U GET
What was your time
lane 5 was my favorite lane in my 400, and lane 8 in my 200.
Am I the only one who goes completely all out the whole 200?
you're not supposed to because it's not humanly possible to full on sprint that long
+_austinsteeby_ heyyyyy someone who knows what they're talking about. haha you are exactly correct.
I do too and I just won conference so it's okay
So what kind of runner Bolt is? He runs 100, but he still can speed up at the end of 200.
Jaret Campisi Coach is crazy, Bolt already had a 100m WR before the OG and had to beg him? Really?
Bolt did not have the WR in 2008.
Veripamue Hinda Yes he did make his first 100m WR already before the OG in Beijing. 9.72, then improved to 9.69 in Beijing. Look it up.
vecernicek2 I'm sorry. Thanks for enlightenment.
Jaret Campisi thanks man. im really trying to improve for highschool and make an impact.
OMG that's exactly what I got and got 3rd too!!
+Hao Doan thats cool
+Hao Doan which country r u from
i have been training for 3 years at a club, and been refraining competitions ever since because i’ve been too scared of the embarrassment if i loose. tomorrow i have a comp with school and which will hopefully help me gain the confidence. i’m doing the 200 and
a 100 relay. will update on my place. i don’t really mind if i loose because it’s my first comp. (i’m 14)
edit: really pleased with my place, i expected to loose because everyone else in my school weren’t doing that well. i was also against 2 private schools, and with not enough training i managed to come 3rd with 29.86 seconds, really good for my first competition yasss
💪
Since the flow face was really important I decided to run the entire race like that...
Didn't go so well
Lmao
Man I love you. I've been working with my girls and could not figure out what they were doing wrong. Your videos helped a lot. Thank you.
I'm running the 200m and 1500m soon, so will definitely watching more of your videos!
love to hear it! Keep me posted with how it goes and good luck!
Man watching these videos makes me wanna go do some sprints!!
+Panagiotis Rafail haha yeah buddy! Lots more coming for summer time so try some out and let me know how it is!
same
just noticed, you run quite flat footed and sometimes heal strike. this is automatically breaking your speed- you'd be a lot faster if you ran on the balls of your feet and you'll be able to apply a lot more power into the ground
Subbed! Your videos has helped me a lot for my 100m, 200m, and 400m dashes during my meets. Thank you!
+Muhammad Zulkarnain you're welcome, so happy to hear that! Lots more coming so stay tuned!
Lol you're the most fit person at that track. Everyone else is just walking 😂
Always love seeing the journey of other entrepreneurs, keep doing what you're doing! 🚀
in fairness hes pretty darn quick...great vid...
This workout is hard for beginners trust me
Freaky Blank get skinny and if you are like me , a person who can't lose weight . then gain muscle
rafael wang I can't gain weight
Freaky Blan7
I'm a 200 and 400 runner, PRs are 25.03 and 59.29 as a 9th grader with 1 year of track experience now. At my very first track meet I had no idea how to run the 200 or 400 and got 28.1 and 67.13 lol, usually I can go all out 100% in the 200 and never slow down, but the 400 is so damn hard. I think the reason my 400 time isn't better is because in the back of my mind I'm thinking about saving energy and run the first 200 so slow and still have no energy for the last 100 so I might as well run the first 200 fast, when I'm running 300s in practice on endurance day my times are consistently under 40 seconds so I just need to work on pushing in the last 100 and getting out fast in the first 150-200
I beat you in the 200 by .01 seconds lol
677.13?
Yo what’s ur times now? You still do track?
What did you end up running as a senior?
i ran a 24.94 200 with 3 months of experience
Im an 11 year old girl, who needed these tips for my upcoming running race finals. These were really helpful and will definitely help me for the race. Wish me luck! // MAKE SURE TO REMIND ME TO UPDATE 👹👹
Here while I’m waiting to figure out if I’ll have a track season 2020
This video and your 400 meter vid definitely helped me run faster times! Thanks a lot man! Great work keep it up:)
+TruthBeToldFtw Hell yeah! Love to hear that. Lots more videos coming so stay tuned!
Currently i’m in 10th grade and i run a 24.14 200m. looking to improve hopefully this video helps.
This is the first time im doing a 200 and im really nervous
Thx for all the help Jaret Campisi these videos have helped me a lot
happy to hear that!
People have told me I need to run because im pretty fast, but anyways I seem to have trouble balancing while running the curve, right after I get out of the curb i tend to feel like I'm going to fall forward on my face how can I fix this
L
Ren_Pres I remember my very first time running the 200 in 8th grade I was smoking the people I was racing and it was the first time ever the falling over feeling your talking about I never had just practice running the curve and I guess u will be fine
work out your hips
I
I’m so nervous for sports day for my whole life one day before sports day I always do research about how to run fast but luckily I go for athletics every Wednesday so I might have a change wish me luck I will give an update if I win or not
Wish me luck !!!
Edit: hey guys I just did my sports day and I got gold totally recommend this method
Nice mine is Tuesday
I’m here after getting 2 #1s tonight! My time was 24.5 & I’m a Freshman! I wanna be at or under 20 in 2 weeks! Best of luck to fellow runners here~
good luck but that is going to be very difficult
That’s literally Olympic records😂
imma tell you right now your time will not drop that far in 2 weeks but keep up the good work that’s a really good time for a freshman i know this was 11 months ago lol
Thank you
Yes having a race plan that he learns how to execute will absolutely help him run faster.
I've been watching this video over and over again my meet is next week, super nervous! Thx Jaret
this will definitely help and good luck!
Thx appreciate it :)
I'm 18 with a pr in the 400m 50.86, and my 200m is 23.41, any tips on getting down to 49.5 in the 400 and 22.4 in the 200
My 200 time is 17.35
@@marielysalazar3634 ha
Thanks bro this has really helped me for my 200m sprint in a couple of days
Wish me luck tomorrow is my sports day..😥😥
Thanks so much man! Really needed this and I got my first meet today haha. Definitely gonna use this race plan.
+Norbin Tiru Yeah buddy!! Happy to hear that and good luck! Stay tuned for me :)
I just made a new pb it's 28.09
Omarian Hussain nice dude
Omarian Hussain Respectable, keep up the hard work.
Omarian Hussain mines 28.80 😭
How old r u?
Me time for the 200 is 17.35
It’s really bad
i am a college athlete and i was a distance runner till this season when i sadly lost my endurance. i usually run 28/29 sometimes even 30 at meets for 200m but after watching this video and doing the workout just last week my time dropped to 26 flat. thank you so much
+Donne official wow thats awesome man, so happy to hear that! Its amazing what you can do with the correct knowledge on how to run races etc. Keep up the good work man. Lots more to come!
+Donne official Wait. You're a college athlete running 26's?
TheOnlyExpress yeah I'm a girl and i used to be a distance runner before
Oh. I apologize. I didnt realize that you're a girl. That makes a lot more sense now. Good luck :)
What is your old time un the 200m ?
I’m 13 and my fastest that i ran a 200m was 38 seconds I need improvement to get in the team but idk how to start
I would say practice is best. The more you do it, the better you'll get eventually. You have to focus on the mechanics of it, because you can't keep running it the exact same way if it's not working for you. You have time, sometimes things don't happen exactly when you want them, but you definitely can do much better really soon.
Maybe you’ll need to work on your forms a little bit more
Bro I like you running style
can you tell me the best breathing technique, cz when I run, I gas out and my chest get so tight and it's hard to catch my breath. great vids thx man!
Holy crap! I was running a 56 at the beginning of the year and now I am running at 52.8 because of your vidoes
+Bob Lee haha wow thats freaking awesome! Its amazing how much of a difference it makes when you know how to run a race and understand how to do it correctly. Keep killing it man! Lots more videos coming.
Lane one is the worst lane to run a 200 in🤦🏾♂️.
any lane is easy to run a 200 inch
I ran a 22.9 FAT from Lane 2 yesterday. If I got Lane 3-4 I would’ve gotten 22.8 or 22.7 easily.
Its better mentally, because you start out behind and quickly catch up to everyone.
Battle-Worn Robot Taunt Processor yesss
I always get the last one
Thank you you helped me win my race today at districts!!
Thank youuuu so much for your tips that makes a hush different for me. my 100m dash was 13:32 sec at first time and you know what after taking those tips from you and i use them now its 11:87 sec and that was the last friday. is it a good time ? ...im looking forward to hit 10sec can i ? Also i really liked the T-shirt on you how can i get one like it i really want it
P.S: i Started Track&Field 4 Months ago.
+Mohaymin Elamri wow that's a huge difference! Happy to hear that man. And those are some legit times such early on in your career. Keep up with it and you'll do well. I've got shirts in production right now...they should be available by the end of the month...I will let you guys know when they are :)
Okay let us know when they're available :) Thank You Coach !! i promise i will do Well...
It's link to your natural progression, and not necessarily to thé racine strategy, you've bien doing for 4 months.
@@UndefeatedZoe The way to struggle and fade.
Alright, thanks anyways. Your consistent replies really set you apart from other youtubers, seems like you really care about helping athletes.
you're welcome buddy and yes I really make these videos to try and help you guys :)
big 4x2 relay tmrw; got a shot at gold, wish me luck (and thanks for the help)
My first track meet of the season was yesterday and I ran an 11.65 100m but a 26.16 200m 🤦🏻♂️
That’s still really good. You’ll just have to get used to the 200 and use the strategy he said in the video. Eventually maybe after a week or so of practice you’ll be improved more
Damn how 😂
My 200 is 17.35
Greyson Taylor stfu that’s a faster time than you in 8th grade
Well you are a very good coach.🤩🤩
If he’s tired after doing this, then I’m screwed
Fantastic stride, for an old man :P
Like the out-take idea.
+Neil McMahon haha thanks, I can still get up and go when I need to :) And yeah I include outtakes when they happen...surprised I normally get things on the first take...
Guess what I did my 200m and I was 1st one good tip for running faster is to stretch your legs far that's my strategy for always winning
Tryouts are tomorrow and im so nervous. So I hope these videos really help
Ill just run so fast I wont have enough time to get tired.
This helped because I run the 100 meter relay and the 200 meter relay for my middle school but I’ve heard go as fast as you can for the 200 but seems no one on the team can go 100% the whole time * but we are all middle schoolers
Edit: I have ran the 200 4 times at meets if you include relay and I’m 13 and my best is 25.8 and I say just go full out the whole race
It’s not humanly possible to run the entire 200m with 100% so don’t stress
Thank you, I really appreciate the response.
I'm doing my 200m sports day race tomorrow at park view school I'm really nervous for it but I will try my best
i ran from my school to my train, my teeth hurt, i was breathing fast af so i googled how to not die after running 200m
200/400 guy here. Nailed it!
I'm a girl. I'm 16, and my pr is a 24.7

How’d it go?
thank you so much for this! I have a qualifying meet tomorrow where it is a 200m dash and I needed some tips so thank you for helping me with it! (it will be raining too😕)
I'm 13 and I ran the 200 in 27.64 and I've had a fractured spine for the past 9 months without realising and I'm not gonna be able to run under 30 when I go back
you good man. fractured spine good luck man
ExE Studios That's still pretty impressive. Just don't give up on it
Manic Blitzz Realistic, good time.
Wow am 12 and I ran 23.9 to break the school record
This was nice to watch!
200 meter race, 38 fastest O-O I QUIT!!
Thanks man for commenting back
If you collapse in the Last 20 meters, you dont do 23 seconds,we dont lose 1 second in 20 meters, while being launched,go 5 tenths so you Will be in 24,6-24,7 seconds
oh i have my 200 meter dash tomorrow. Im sooooo friggin anxious. (my first competition)
im 13. CAN ANYONE HELP WITH SOMETHING NICE?!
its normal to be nervous...it will help you focus and run better than you would if you didn't have it :) But save those nerves for before the race. In the meantime do other things to take your mind of it :)
Jaret Campisi JARET!!!

I just try to go all out, maybe 90%-95% on the curve and then after I go as hard as I can. So far I’m at 24:53 hoping this vid will help me improve!
