Thank you for not gatekeeping. Because of you, many others will reach new heights. True champion.
whats gatekeeping
@@priscillasabatini7868Hoarding your secrets and knowledge for yourself and not spreading it to the next generation
@@priscillasabatini7868 A proficient practitioner in a given field withholding information in order to keep others from obtaining or replicating his or her success.
gatekeeping in sprinting is pointless lol. it's about your ability at the end of the day
@reginald8947 you would think so. But even the ones who make it, even if just a blip on the radar for a season or two, deal with this. For myself, I went to highschool with a professional coaches kids. I also had a close friend who anchored against Bolt. In both instances I personally dealt with gatekeeping. I had the ability, and even though I grew up poor and harassed for loving track, I clawed my way to being the best 200m and 400m in my area. The coach said "you'd be national caliber if you moved to the 800m" and when I asked him to train me he said he didn't have time. My Olympic athlete friends coach freaked out watching me run my Jr year. He told me he'd train me for free, then he took all my graduation money for just a few sessions. There's so much more it's infuriating. I worked my absolutely butt off and qualified for nationals a handful of seasons. I did everything I could and when I reached out, everyone who hyped me up was all full of it. Tried to keep it short, but believe me I have seen many examples like this in the sport. I competed from 9yrs old until I was 20.
Yes! This is what I needed! One of the top 10 fastest people in the world is giving details about the 200m clearly. Appreciate everything you do Noah, this will be helpful
He is the fastest 200m runner as of now since Usain Bolt is retired and yohan Blake is running like 10.1-10.2 100m now
Third fastest 200m runners in history
he is the fastest now

@Noah Lyles, Olympian: my young son is watching now your tutorials to become a sprinter. He followed you yesterday on the track in Zurich (5 meters from your 200m block). His name is also Noah.
I hope he can learn something! Best of luck to him

Noah Lyles is the fastest Human on the planet.
I'm a 200 guy, and I definitely learned from this video.
As someone who's been in the sport for a very long time. I can honestly say I really appreciate mr. Lyles creating this content, getting people engage with track and field. Being an actual Steward of the sport instead of just a star like many before him.
Track is just beautiful. I love it ❤❤❤
How do I pace the 200m? Should I go all out from start to finish?
Gradual build up of speed. If you star5 fast you'll burn out way too quickly. If you start too slow you'll have a lot of work to make up. Once you start coming up then you'll finish accelerating into your top speed. Hold that for as long as you can. The rest of the race is keeping form and de-accelerating slower than everyone else which comes from training
Noah EXCELLENT step-by-step vid! I got my son studying it! Thank you for taking time out of your extremely busy schedule to share your expertise and talent with the next generation of sprinters!! GEMS 💎 for the WORLD CHAMP!! 🌎 Thank you again!! BLESSINGS 🙏🏿💪🏿💯
Thank you and best of luck to your son in his running career!
it really is incredible that we have the best sprinter in the world rn taking time to pursue his passion in content creation because we all benefit. keep them coming
Thanks Noah! 61 year old man here trying to get below 28 sec this summer from current 30 secs results. Just need that last 40 meters sorted out. This will help!
You got this!!!
the last part , even the last 100 is more mental. I see many people break. i know they gonna break and that gives me extra motivation not to break. but i think you already know this, and you are fast, damn...
Thanks Jack! @@jackcarpenters3759

Wow, I was taught wrong as a kid. I wish I had a coach like Noah. Great video
How where you taught?
@noahlyles18 I was taught to lean into the curve and stay close to the line. But that was a long time ago in the late 90s. I hope coaches today watch this video and are teaching kids the correct way.
@@D.dot. unfortunately I hear coaches still teaching this.
@@noahlyles18 Dang, that is unfortunate. Maybe USATF can do more at the youth level to educate the coaches. I saw your other video with you and your brother speaking to kids. More athletes doing these type of things would help too. Thank you again for all that you do! These videos are awesome! Good luck this season.
My coach told me to run all out. That is all he ever said to me.
Needed this thanks bro💪🏾
Great video! Thank you for doing this and posting it. You doing this is “good for the sport”!
these videos are pure gold. I will watch anything you are willing to put out there for us
Congrats on the NYC win! Keep it up!🥳
You brought these BACK! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
So informative!! Running, thinking, and preparing yourself for the win. TEAM NoahLyles Always.
Amazing content, thank you Noah!
This is one hell of a nice bloke.
Thank you Noah.
This is awesome man. Well done at World's recently. Watched you get all your golds with my family here in the UK
Great video. I was just thinking as the video was playing that we need a 100 and 400 video. This is gold ❤
Nice video Noah!! Next one we need the 100m and explanation of the transition phase between the acceleration and the top speed. Thanks for the nice content champ!!
Thank you, Noah. My kid needed this video sooner because he just ran the 200m at his regional meet this weekend. We’ll use these tips for next season.
This is exactly what I needed.❤❤👌👌Thanks a million champ.
A video about training top speed would be great. Like how would a typical speed session look like for you!
Love the work you do. Great videos!
You’re a natural coach. Very nice job. I see why you’re so fast.
Thank you so much for this Lyles! This is super helpful, debunking popular track myths like staying on the inside of the lane and leaning on the curve. Also I will definitely be using that leaning techniques at the end of my races!
Great video thanks for the tips, any kind of video you make about getting faster and executing a race perfectly is great
Love the breakdown Noah! Thank you. 😊
This video was more than my track coaches ever taught me, well done
Break down both!!! You're stellar!!!
I have never seen any athlete or coach teaching so perfectly about any sports thankyou @noah you are reall inspiring thousands of athletes with your videos. Thanks once again.
That was a GREAT and easy to digest explanation of how to run a 200M... and for the most part the why you're doing what you're doing when you're doing it. Please do a 100M breakdown next 💯
You are EXACTLY what this sport need to continue to develop forward!! Would personally love a video about the mental bit in championship finals and how you perform the best when most needed!! Keep up youre great runing!!
This is so helpful you have no idea, I was told to hug the inside of the lane the whole time. Best believe I’m going to be working on this now! Thank you, Noah.
Bro, you are the best! Sharing tips with your competition is just very selfless!!
loved this man. Really need the 100 meter for sure
Thanks for the help! My 9 year old Noah watches you. Had his USATF today. Just missed regionals! He cried. Now I know he loves track! Wanna thank u! And wish u the best in all ur races! 🔥
Amazing walkthrough (literally) of the 200
Thanks for your vid bro. Those tips and tricks to get faster is on point with the explanation. Big support here❤❤
I loved the videos and my daughter has been running track for just a year and I’ve used these videos to teach her a lot. I would love to see a video on take off out of the blocks or how to run the 400.
Incredibly informative. Noah Lyles is super likable. I had no idea he was like this.
Great advice Noah thank you. I will use the mechanics especially that last 50m about keeping form and mechanics to have a faster 200m. Also great job at the meet yesterday, I saw you run live in NYC with my friend.
Running is beautiful. You break it down like a symphony! 🎉
Thank you so much, this was so helpful. Now it's time to work.
more of this. Thanks for the tips
Great advice. I'll pass this on to my G'son who just started running the 200M.
Definitely a weight room tour and the equipment you use, such as what type of bands and such.
That was very comprehensive thanks Noah!
Thank you King showing to my track team today

Will try it on Saturday ❤❤
Thank you for giving me techniques of 200m great Noah champion
I was always taught to lean on the turnovers. Glad you said this now
Just found this channel. Subscribing to one of the *greatest sprinters of our time and a future legend* was a "no brainer."
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 ❤ the breakdown
I love watching track and field.. it's amazing how you share your technique
this is a dope lesson, loved it
Amazing. How rare it is for a top athlete to give tricks of the trade. Bravo.
Very fascinating to watch as a distance runner. So glad we don't really have to stress over these little details as much, but makes me appreciate sprinters a little more.
This was actually very helpful
Super informative especially with the bit about center lane position on the curve. I always try to hug the inside third of the track for less distance ran but it is more challenging to keep proper hip positioning when doing so and always run the risk of stepping out of the lane. I’ll have to try sprinting down the middle!
Great video 🔥 super helpful with the advice
Great illustration Noah, Alexandria VA. with you all the way!
Thanks Noah lyles this helps alot 👍🔥
thanks noah lyles for the tips! Greetings from Venezuela
Man I like this breakdown ! I will definitely recommend this video to my peoples running track in my city ! Running in the middle of the track and knowing your foot placement were the key takeaways for me ! Good luck in your next races, if you can breakdown the 60m, 100m, 400m as well it would be much appreciated ! Thank you for this video big man keep doing your big man tings on the track bringing in flavour in your personality big ups !

Noah, Thank you for making this video. I am a USATF Masters sprinter. I would love to see you do videos on the 60m, 100m, and starting. You are truly a master of your craft, and you communicate very well. Respectfully, Darryl
