J'appuie totalement vos dires M. Bresson !! BRAVO Dereck !!
A few suggestions for other reactions : Désenchantée (live 2009, the same one. or maybe : live 2006). Live 2013 : C'est une belle journée. Live 2019 : the intro (Coming from the vortex - interstellaires). And also some video clips : Sans Logique. Que mon coeur lâche. Sans contrefaçon. Tristana.
For the Future you must see the videos of "old" songs, real little movies, like "Tristana" and especially "Libertine" and "Pourvu qu'elles soient douces", but in this order, the second is a sort of sequel of the first. But I hope you will be not schocked by some scenes, Mylène and French in 80's was not very chaste ! :D
"Ainsi Soit Je" is for me the most mysterious song that she wrote. You don't know exactly what she is talking about, but this is very deep and important for her, also very dark. Many times, in concert, she wasn't able to sing it correctly (in Avant Que l'Ombre stages, the song was replaced because it was too much painful for her to sing it). And the outro at the end of the video is the instrumental from "Avant que l'ombre", the first video you reacted ;)
She said that she wanted to: "create intimacy in the vastness" and she did it !!! Great react, this song is really emotionnal, during other shows she let's the audience sing it. And this song makes her often cry, surely something very personnal for her...we don't know, she's so secret.
My best friend invited me to this concert. I didn't know her before that day and it was the best concert of my life! I went to many concert of big stars like Madonna or Gaga, but Mylene Farmer blow my mind that day. We were in the center of the stadium and we didn't realise when she disappeared from main stage and just appeared next to us in the middle on that platform (we didn't expect to be that close). When the statues started to stand up, we fellt so small in the public. Just Epic !!
Hi, Dereck. Thank you for listening to and analyzing the songs of Mylene Farmer, this woman is a goddess for many men and women. They love her for her sincerity and her lyrics. All of her songs are based on real events - that's how she feels. She's a really great dancer. I suggest you watch C'est Une Belle Journée (Timeless 2013) where she dances and sings live! And she's 52 years old here! She's amazing!

Hello Dereck. I discovered your Chanel 2 days ago and I'm already fan. I love your style and your sensibility to the music. "Ainsi sois je" is my favorite song of Mylène. And I very touched to see you so moved by this song. Music is universal and the beauty of this text is powerful. So thanks for your video and to make discover French songs to your community. Have a nice day.
Yes , yes , yes !!!!! I love your reaction on here!!!!!! Waiting for more!!!! She has lot of good videos to watch!!! I subscribe to your channel because of here!!)))) please continue.!!!!
Dereck, a million thanks for reacting again to Mylene. May your journey and ours continue. I advise you to keep a box of tissues handy as you will need them a lot of the time.
"Ainsi soit je" & "Rêver" are always very emotional songs when done in concert. Very often she cries and has a lot of difficulty finishing them. It brings tears to your eyes. You have fallen into Mylène's world, you will have a lot of difficulty getting out of it. You should really watch the full video clip for "Libertine" and then for its sequel "Pourvu qu'elles soient Douces" or "Sans Contrfaçon" or "California". Please continue to put the subtitles, I am having difficulty following you and understanding English orally.
That tear you drop, without even noticing I think, at 11:59 and the rest of the reaction with how emotional you get is a true testament to how powerful Mylene and her music are. You don't need to understand the words to be touched and moved by her voice and the instrumentation she offers. It shows how it is truly music that convey heavy emotions. As a forever fan of Mylene who is touched deeply by her lyrics, it makes me so happy to see someone who don't even understand French can also experience and share these deep emotions through her, and as a relay connect with us all.
So much Mylene content, those video mean so much to me! I remember so many musicians among my friends having only despise or indifference for her work it just feel like you set things right with those. Thank you.
@@Lofote he hasn't reacted to any highlights from her career yet; he needs to hear her belt XXL, he needs to jam to sans contrefaçon, he needs to get lost in m'effondre, he needs to dance to je t'aime melancolie and he needs to be moved with souviens-toi du jour
I am Mylene fan from almost the beginning. She has such a lot of beautiful songs, I can not name the best one which you have to listen. But after knowing her for some time, the first concert I visited was the Mylenium tour, and wow, what a show! Great visuals, good artists and even live such a beautiful voice! @@SorayaRaven Yeah, it's great ! so amazing, we were stunned at Bercy...and after this one, a more "joyfull" song (the lycics are deep but Mylène aime "faire danser la mélancolie" as she said or something like that, I don't remember exactly) like this one "C'est dans l'air" SDF 2009 th-cam.com/video/_g58u6FM5Mk/w-d-xo.html&start_radio=1
Sarah Brightman and Mylène Farmer have the voices of the angels inside them! Even if you don't speak french, you will understand the kinda feeling related to Mylène's songs! While she's departing from the stage, I feel sad, like if she is living the final moment in life, and there's a lot of sadness while she's walking towards death, but at the same time, it feels like she is in peace, although sad. Thank you , Dereck.
Your reaction is just amazing... You're getting so emotional ! ❤️ That is quite unusual for someone who does not understand the lyrics, you can feel all the song anyway. American people are often very scornful with music from other countries, especially when they don't get the lyrics, so for that, thank you very very much.
This concert at the Stade de France was my first concert of Mylène, I became fan of her at this moment. Did you notice that the back of her hair represents a skull with crosses.
Dereck, If you translate the lyrics into English you will understand what she sings about and enjoy the beauty of this song and performance even more. The lady is just wonderful. Thank you 🙏 Ms Mylene is truly phenomenal.
I was at her very first stadium date. 4. September 2009 at the arena in Geneva Switzerland. And this interlude was the best live moment of my life. And Yvan Cassar is a great pianist and good at musical orchestrations. The skeletons are a reproduction of statues at a church.
it must be really amazing - discovering Mylene in 2020, when you got it all at once: all her magically beautifull songs and out of this world performances.... Could be too overwhelming ;))
Our french Godess !!! She's also a pure perfectionnist. Had the chance to see her in concert ..... magical ❤ Dereck you got emotional because that's what's she triggers ... pure emotion !!! She is a mystical figure to her fans. 🥰
hi Dereck the pianist is Yvan Cassar. he's the artistic director of most of her shows. Mylène and her fans are very connected all the time in all her shows....she's very a performante woman !!! in all...she can transports us to the emotion
One of her most emblematic songs, her first ballad too. A very acoustic version, very sober and super moving. Her faithful pianist illuminates the song of course. But this is the finale (or rather the instrumental cover of "Avant que l'ombre") that sends the song to new heights. Crazy instrumentation, guitars, piano, drums, bass, percussions. And then the scenery of the stage, this is fabulous, Everything is rich, in each corner of the stage lights, videos. Everything is worked out in details. It's just very very beautiful
I have never been able to accept the criticism about her voice, that it lacked power but it is soothing. I don't like shouting artists. She is soft spoken, it shows in her singing too. I don't care she may not have the power of others, she has amazing presence and her words are a balm to my soul. Don't you feel it too, it seems you do, it caresses your brain, doesn't it?
Thanks Dereck ! really enjoyed your musical analysis, amazing how you get it so right. Her main composer Laurent Boutonnat indeed has this specific style of composing which evokes cinema soundtrack. He is also a film director by the way - maybe that explains why. Next time I recommend you react to a choreographed live performance (she is a great dancer too) maybe a Desenchantee live rendition? Keep up the great work!!
"...And so am I, so are you, so may it be / and so I pray, you run away / from my exile... / But what hope is there / for me to have / when all is dark? / So am I, so are you / so it is, my life / too bad..."
The tickets for this concert (80 000) were sold in 2 hours, the second date in 1h30... You should react to Sans contrefacon video which is a wonderful take on Pinocchio, or Sans Logique. As for the live performances, Libertine from this concert is very good, and California from the tour from the 90s. Thanks again for this impeccable reaction !! 🙏
Thanks for this other reaction ... you have no idea who is she for the fan's like me. She's god !!! Please make again and again and again more of here.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR REACTIONS ON THIS VIDEO ❤️ EVERY HER SONG IS SPECIAL WITH A DEEP MEANING (IT ALWAYS TAKES TO THE BOTTOM, EVERY TIME AS A FIRST TIME)
Not one of my favorite Mylene ballads, but it remains a favorite of most of her fans, so it is especially welcome treat to them in her live shows. Always sung during the ballad segment (normally 2-3 ballads performed back to back) of her concerts, the song is always a vulnerable highlight of her concerts. The song is part of her 2nd album (which L'horloge is also from) from 1988, which put her on a pedestal of an iconic status, where she still remains! The album is full of romantic darkness, where she explores sexuality, death, betrayal, and overall existential issues - which may sound too serious, but it is at the same time full of catchy pop tunes. And yes, she started showing her tits way before Madonna. I insist that you watch, and possibly react if you will, her Pourvu Qu'elles Soient Douces 17-minute long music vid, the first ever #1 song. Btw... this tour I attended in Brussels in 2009, the stadium is big, I stood at the end of that runway! I wish I could be closer to the stage cuz most of the time she stayed there. Oh and the outro is the instrumental version of Avant Que L'hombre, which you commented on several vids ago. This is NOT her departure from the concert, this is in fact an interlude /transition to the following act from the show.
Hey Dereck ! You're so talented on top of being such a sweet guy! You definitely have to watch this full show of STADE DE FRANCE 2009 .....and all her entrances/introduction/entrées sur scene of all of her shows! Regarding her Music Videos don't miss: -Dégénération ( part of the "Farmer Project video) -California -Pourvu qu'elles soient douces -L'âme-stram-gram -Je t'aime Mélancolie Among so many more from the 80's and 90's Thanks for sharing your talent amigo ;-)
Thank you for this other beautiful reaction She is the only one that I know that she can sing "naked". I wanna say, only with her voice and no instrumentation or just piano. If you really want something deep react to "Pas le temps de vivre" - Live in her 1999-2000 Show called "Mylenium". It's really emotional, she is alone on stage with her voice and all the fans singing with her...
Thank you a thousand times for your videos! I recommend the intro of the Bercy 2006 concert... (your first video on Mylène was the end of this concert) you’ll see it’s completely amazing 😲and of incredible quality... a show as she knows how to do! In the same style but more recent the 2019 live also has a breathtaking entrance ... Mylène Farmer, an angel coming down from heaven! 😉
for me Mylène farmer is the best singer in the world and did you know that it was the music from before the shadow that they reinterpreted thank you I expect a lot of other music from Mylène farmer
I love your video. I'm a fan of Mylène Farmer and it's so cool that someone from another country discovers this amazing artist like you do. I love your appreciation and you were really moved by this performance and that's exactly what we feel when we see Mylène. It's so impressive how she give her emotion to the public, it's really amazing.
She is the only "star" in the world who never goes on TV , she refuses ! She is a total mystery since her second song. No paparzzi (the one who tried had probably some problems) , nothing. No one never talk about her , but everyone in france knows her since 1990. But her concerts are BIG and people goes to see her. In our mind she is a godess. She is untouchable since 30 years. It was a very difficult but intelligent way on her carreer. Perhaps to really protect her.
A lot of her magic has to do with the French language. Her voice (and music of course) has that mystic spell on listeners, it is like their being enchanted, but . . . . if you would hear her songs in English it doesn't sound mystic or enchanted anymore. But yes, she is a very talented singer and excellent business woman. No doubt, for sure.
English works much better in "classic" pop songs, but yeah, when it comes to write something with a deep meaning, french is very suitable for it. It's suitable to poesy. (Not that you can't do it in English, but in French it sounds mystical)
There are so many layers to Mylène and you still haven't seen her dance and sing live which is why she is compared to Madonna. Please react to an uptempo performance, THEY ARE EPIC
Merci ! That's one of my favorite live performances 🖤 See ? She always leaves us speechless... I cry every time I listen to this... And this song is not the last of this show. Watch "Désenchantée live in Stade de France 2009" or "Intro + Peut-être toi live in Bercy 2006" you'll be speechless again ! Thanks for your amazing work man !

J'appuie totalement vos dires M. Bresson !! BRAVO Dereck !!
Did you notice that the end of the song is a call-back to the "avant que l'ombre" finale you already reacted to? Please do more reactions
also, it's NOT her departure from the concert but just like the end of the middle part :)
Tristana.
Yep
Every mf fan noticed I guess 😅
For the Future you must see the videos of "old" songs, real little movies, like "Tristana" and especially "Libertine" and "Pourvu qu'elles soient douces", but in this order, the second is a sort of sequel of the first. But I hope you will be not schocked by some scenes, Mylène and French in 80's was not very chaste ! :D
And mostly "Sans contrefaçon" !!
And beyond my control, and sans logique )
@Le Zouzou because everyone speaks english here. What's the point of speaking french if nobody understand you ?
"Ainsi Soit Je" is for me the most mysterious song that she wrote. You don't know exactly what she is talking about, but this is very deep and important for her, also very dark. Many times, in concert, she wasn't able to sing it correctly (in Avant Que l'Ombre stages, the song was replaced because it was too much painful for her to sing it).
And the outro at the end of the video is the instrumental from "Avant que l'ombre", the first video you reacted ;)
In 2006 she had a throat problem so yes she sadly couldn’t sing it
It's about her late brother, so I'm told
Alevtina Bogatyreva
Queen of Russia too, with love.
You chose one of the most beautiful part of this show 🙏🏽Thank you again 💫
She is so iconic 😍
She is 😍
Hello Dereck.
Mylène Farmer is the Best singer of the world. Of my world. She's natural and pure. Thank you Dereck for your reaction 💕
Yes , yes , yes !!!!! I love your reaction on here!!!!!! Waiting for more!!!! She has lot of good videos to watch!!! I subscribe to your channel because of here!!)))) please continue.!!!!
me too
me too)))
We love her, we adore her, we worship her....
❤️
FILIP Carpentier oh yes, my God yes we do!
Please watch intro+peut être toi from the « avant que l’ombre à Bercy » show
definitely the next reaction you should do. You've never seen something quite like it!
YES please !
I don't understand why people are recommending weak songs when he hasn't even heard Sans Contrefaçon, XXL or Libertine live yet
Have you seen the intros for mylenium or 2019 yet? Even better in my opinion ☺
********
"Rêver" with all the audience singing it together ...magical
That tear you drop, without even noticing I think, at 11:59 and the rest of the reaction with how emotional you get is a true testament to how powerful Mylene and her music are. You don't need to understand the words to be touched and moved by her voice and the instrumentation she offers. It shows how it is truly music that convey heavy emotions. As a forever fan of Mylene who is touched deeply by her lyrics, it makes me so happy to see someone who don't even understand French can also experience and share these deep emotions through her, and as a relay connect with us all.
She had 80 000 people singing happy birthday for her.
Et j y étais !!! Quel bonheur !!
@@VINCE01254 moi j'étais à la défense arena!!! J'ai pleuré et toi?
my birthday
So much Mylene content, those video mean so much to me! I remember so many musicians among my friends having only despise or indifference for her work it just feel like you set things right with those. Thank you.
Please watch the introduction « peut être toi « Show Avant que l’ombre à Bercy 2006
Thanks Dereck
It's great, but compared to the introduction of 2019 tours and the Mylenium intro, it is only 3rd in my opinion :)
I too agree: listen and watch the intro of this concert:

@@SorayaRaven Yeah, it's great ! so amazing, we were stunned at Bercy...and after this one, a more "joyfull" song (the lycics are deep but Mylène aime "faire danser la mélancolie" as she said or something like that, I don't remember exactly) like this one "C'est dans l'air" SDF 2009 th-cam.com/video/_g58u6FM5Mk/w-d-xo.html&start_radio=1
you cry without understanding the words, she is a genius :) thanks for sharing emotions
This song is always an emotional moment when she does it... Glad you enjoy Mylene Farmer...
En México también la amamos!
❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Beautiful song, beautiful sing, Mylene is everything
AT EACH CONCERT SHE LEAVE A SPACE AND A MOMENT TO HER MUSICIANS AND DANCERS. this MOMENT WAS THE MOMENT FOR MUSICIANS SHE IS VERY GENEROUS
Simply an amazing performance. I get emotional every time I watch this concert ending. I would be surprised if I did not shed tears on this.
thank you dereck for showing our queen to the whole world !!!!!
Mylene is a legend. It's just that simple
it must be really amazing - discovering Mylene in 2020, when you got it all at once: all her magically beautifull songs and out of this world performances.... Could be too overwhelming ;))
This is why her voice is spectacular! And her presence is mesmerizing...
Dereck you became the best fan of Mylène! Thank you so much
Please react to Point de Suture live at Stade de France 2009. You will lose your mind.
Braulio Argaez 💯 🔥
OMG yes!
Oui !!!!
Mylène and her fans are very connected all the time in all her shows....she's very a performante woman !!! in all...she can transports us to the emotion
mylene😍😍😍 more again🥰🥰😂😂 i love that u make lots of videos of her shes so important for millions of ppl
This is not the end of the concert, it is the middle transition to the second half of the show
Welcome to Mylène's world! Glad you enjoy our queen for 30 years...
Thanks Dereck!! u are the best ! 💜💜
Mylene Is amazing 💕
Her pianist has been with her since mid 90's. Mylène is very theatrical/emotional in her staging... and we love her for that!
I recommended this too on TH-cam. Thx for doing this. Mr. Hanss who made all of the concert films, is following your reviews!
Hi Derek, thanks for your reaction. I subscribed to your channel because of Mylene. Please do more. She's one of the greatest artists ever.
"Her fans absolutely love her"... oh oui tu n'imagines pas à quel point!!

Hey Dereck ! You're so talented on top of being such a sweet guy!

Regarding her Music Videos don't miss:
-Dégénération ( part of the "Farmer Project video)
-California
-Pourvu qu'elles soient douces
-L'âme-stram-gram
-Je t'aime Mélancolie
Among so many more from the 80's and 90's
Thanks for sharing your talent amigo ;-)
Thank you for this other beautiful reaction
She is the only one that I know that she can sing "naked".
It is not the departure its like the middle of the concert.
for me Mylène farmer is the best singer in the world and did you know that it was the music from before the shadow that they reinterpreted thank you I expect a lot of other music from Mylène farmer
I love your reactions of Mylène it's amazing!
Like you did for Kylie, maybe you can do a full reaction of her 2009 show (in Parts)^^
Yes 2009 or 2006
Or 2013 With the amazing « Timeless 2013 »
Journalists use to say that Mylene is « the french Madonna »... BUT where Madonna is just a « fast-food », Mylene is HIGH gastronomy 🔥🖤🔥
Arrêtons de comparer tout le temps

At the end it was the “Avant Que L’ombre interlude”
I love your video. I'm a fan of Mylène Farmer and it's so cool that someone from another country discovers this amazing artist like you do. I love your appreciation and you were really moved by this performance and that's exactly what we feel when we see Mylène. It's so impressive how she give her emotion to the public, it's really amazing.
The piano intro is so beautiful, something like this old music box with à turning ballet dancer girl when you open it.
Thank you for the video 😇 The place you were transported to is called The universe of Mylene ❤
Thank U for your work 🙏🏼 love U Dereck 💖
A lot of her magic has to do with the French language. Her voice (and music of course) has that mystic spell on listeners, it is like their being enchanted, but . . . . if you would hear her songs in English it doesn't sound mystic or enchanted anymore.
But yes, she is a very talented singer and excellent business woman. No doubt, for sure.
English works much better in "classic" pop songs, but yeah, when it comes to write something with a deep meaning, french is very suitable for it. It's suitable to poesy.
(Not that you can't do it in English, but in French it sounds mystical)
What you may not know is the pianist and composer Yvan Cassar who does all the orchestration of his concerts.
