So simple! Why did I put this off? A friend who lives a distance away installed the new cartridge for me in December & forgot to adjust the temp setting. I watched other videos that weren't as clear so was worried I might mess it up. This is awesome, as is your teaching style. I love that you explain how as well as WHY. Many thanks!
Thanks for the Video. Very clear. My challenge was that my tankless is set at 140. Temp to back sink faucet said 130. Shower was about 105 at best. Cartridge was set to max temp.......I carefully notched the adjustment cam allowing more travel. Problem solved. The wife always complains that it needed to be just a little hotter. I got tired of that whining sound. Problem solved..........for now. Thank you again.
Thank you so much!!! My parents shower was actually running way too hot, and I couldn't get it to cool down until it was almost off. I just did a test, and it's way better now. Thank you again!
Thank you! Mine ended up being even a little simpler than this one in the video. Needed a 3mm allen key to take the handle off and then instead of having to pop the orange ring all the way off to turn it clockwise, mine was is held in with a spring-like mechanism (and it’s gray) and I just had to pull it out slightly, turn it counterclockwise, and release it into the farthest position, with the spring or whatever pulling it back into place. Took less than a minute start to finish. I’ve been living with 94 degree showers for 10 months! 🤦♀️
Omg thank you so much I been living in this new house since I was 20 years old 25 now don’t know much about construction lol but this fixed my issue one of my restrooms just wouldn’t get hot water until now 😂
Mine has a allen set screw at the bottom, problem is after it's out the handle will still not come off. Like they jammed it on some how. Tried pulling and wiggling it back and forth all that it does is bend and twist the entire assy. Any ideas on a way to remove it without causing damage to the whole assy? Would be nice to take a hot shower instead of lukewarm.
@LearnPlumbing mine is exactly this kind but without the little cap that pops off... any ideas? I went in there yesterday to do this, and there is no cap nor set screw for the handle...
HELP NEEDED!!!. i have a price pfister shower valve. my problem is when i turn it all the way up, i get hot water great, as i turn it downward its stays hot, then all at once it goes to cold water. the issue is it dosent go from hot water to warm water to cold water, it goes from hot to cold. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT, thanks
You should be getting the same temperature hot water in the shower as your getting at the sink in your bathroom. Of your not make sure the valve is puoed correctly. Cold on the right and hot on the left.
@@LearnPlumbingI do get the same temperature between sink and tub, but it is noticeably different between this bathroom and both the kitchen and other bathroom. This room is as far as it could be from the hot water heater as well.
Not to make the water temperature adjustment he was showing. You only need to shut off the water if you intend to pull the entire cartridge from the valve body.

If the regulator is already in that 6:00 position and the water is not hot enough, is the next step turning up the water heater?

My temperature adjuster is too deep in the area you need to pop it out. Any ideas?
Thanks... I fixed mine and it was set way too cold.
Awesomeness glad this video helped
What if you just removed the orange cartridge completely?
I wondered the same thing
Wait you don’t need to turn off the water first?
