Milwaukee right angle drill will save your wrists. It’s corded which can be a PITA but worth it

If you put some flux on before and while heating that fitting it usually comes loose a little quicker. I'd also use a wet rag on that valve to stop it from getting to hot. Then when the pipe is still hot use a dry rag to wipe most of that liquid solder off before resanding it and you wouldn't have to pound it on it would just slip right on there with some good flux.

One time I was using a drill with the metal clip for hooking it on your bags on it, Had just given my guys a 5 minute demo on how you need to hold on to it so it doesn’t kick and break your damn wrist. Then I proceed to put it in reverse and let it spin around and hit me on the eyebrow and knocked me out cold😂 💀

My HWH worked flawlessly for 21 years until the last flush. That same rust color came out for the first time ever and was only a couple months before it finally gave out. I would be concerned seeing that color come out from the tank.
