Celebrate Life

A funk inspired ditty written so I can play the trumpet - the working title was “Trumpet Funk” and the words were written after most of the instruments (except the trumpet leads) were recorded. Oh, the words - yes corny, but I think the extreme positivity fits the music.
Hey, did you notice that there are drums here? OK, don’t expect Bill Bruford since I have been playing drums for almost exactly a month. Still, for just playing a month the fact that I did the drum track in a single take without overdubs or any correction, well, I’m happy. Sure, there are some flubs and such, but it should only get better from here, right?
Yep, that is a real trumpet on the left track (right horn blasts are synth) and playing the leads (call and response with the vocals). I’ve been back with the trumpet for about two months now (I played years ago). As I said, the reason I wrote this was for the trumpet
Beside trumpet, voice and drums (it is a Roland electronic set, so drum pads) I used the Rev 2 as the primary synth backed up in places by the Regen and the Pro-800. A big part of the bass sound was the Poly D. Oh, I forgot the tambourine and the shaker to fill out the percussion.

Amazing! There's a ton of energy in this song. The trumpet is pretty great Trent, drums...everything is fab. Love the positivity of the lyrics.
