Continue On (Turn the Clock Back)

After I posted the Adagio to my piano sonata last week I started playing with a couple of the motifs. That bit of playing turned into a song. By Sunday morning I had all of the instrumental tracks, with the exception of the leads, recorded. I had no idea what the song would be about, but I had a working title “Turn the Clock Back”. By the end of the day, I had written and recorded the lyrics, as well as the leads. So today I made the video.
The nerd stuff: Besides my voice, I used a real tambourine and a cabasa (shaker). I used the Poly D for the bass in the middle section and for the leads. All other sounds are a combination of Prophet Rev 2 and Synclavier Regen. I am still only using additive/FM sounds on the Regen, no samples. And, why, all played by hand, as if you didn't hear the mistakes...

Wow. This is great. The little flourishes between the phrases are superb. I get the whole feeling instantly. Lovely midsection too. Your composition skill is amazing! I love the lyric as well. Very mystical but earthly.

Thanks, David! I was harnessing my inner Rick Wakeman for the leads...lol. For the lyrics I was trying to find a balance between the dark music and a bit of optimism I wanted to present.
