"It's a surprise to me that you're not dead -- that this hasn't killed you." Exactly what I think every single time I watch these episodes. How in the world hoarders live to old age is a mystery to me.
Some parts of the house are pretty clean/clear for hoarders - they have lots of clean dishes! Richard doesn't seem quite all there. Head injury? His toque seems to be covering something.
I can understand not wanting to deal with clutter or collections, but not actual trash/garbage. I make it a point of putting the trash in my hand immediately into the garbage. I also do not have stuff laying all over the floor but I do have TOO MUCH STUFF that could be donated because I don't use or throw it out if I think a thrift store wouldn't want it. It is hard to do that though but I make sure it is still in the acceptable level of clutter that just needs to be dealt with. I sometimes think someone with a hoarding problem might benefit from having many large trash bins with plastic bag liners in each room and giving them a goal of putting things into them all the time. If an empty toilet roll is in your hand, aim for one of the large containers instead of dropping it at your feet. I have small trash bins in many areas and one main large one, especially for food scraps, in the closet under the stairs in the middle area of my main floor.. Once a week I transfer the stuff in the small ones to the large one to get ready for trash pickup day.
I guess what I can’t get over is why do they throw empty cartons pop bottles toilet paper why do they throw that all over their apartment and don’t throw it away wouldn’t it be just as easy are they lazy? Are they mentally ill I guess I just don’t understand why somebody can’t get up and throw a bottle away or paper. It’s amazing how these people are.
We helped many Hoarders, it was all for nothing, my husband stopped counting at 150 empty Coca-Cola pop bottles on the floor, tons more in every room,I gave them a new garbage can and recycle bin,and yet right in front of me he threw his empty pop bottle on the floor, I put it in the recycle and his next bottle he again threw it on the floor, some folks just can't be helped.
I truly hate that the fiancee passed away. But I wonder if she wasn't spared a lot of misery in the process. Richard may have eventually started hoarding anyway. Maybe I'm wrong.

They draw dark side energy from their hoards and become like Palpatine.
Richard seems like he has brain damage or something. Like he doesnt seem like he's all there.
“Session over” was Richard’s anxiety prevailing.
Poor old Betty wondering around a house with 47,000 trip hazards. Hope they can help them.

Without intervention treatment, I'm afraid their slovenly ways will prevail. 🤨
Daughter did well marrying that man! What a good guy.
If this keeps up with the in-laws, they may not stay married much longer 😧
He did a great job cleaning the carpet on the stairs.
* Elbow Bump * Good times!

Depression?
@@wot4me2yes! I think you're right!
It’s a mental disorder for sure, often amplified by loss. Hope they continue on a good path.

Agreed. We all have demons that we struggle with. That doesn't mean you have to hoard. It's not fair to the people who have to live with the hoarder.
