    this is very interesting. have recently started a short using unreal with metahumans and lots of Marvelous Designer garments. my current idea is that i have to export all the mocap (metahuman head, shoes, body) for each shot into MD sim cloth then export out etc etc etc... i have been wondering about using blend shapes in unreal that are set up to just run with the animation...

      Actually, using blendshapes can give you better quality because if you try to export too big of a file with Alembic, Unreal Engine tends to crash. Plus, you won't have issues with things overlapping or going through each other if you go with blendshapes.

      I think the first thing to do is figure out how to create them using Unreal Engine and then learn how to animate them in there.

    Does that script do anything that MAYA's Pose Editor doesn't?

      no, it doesn't. if you want to use your character inside Maya, stick to the Pose Editor
