lol I have a 6 truck operation. I teach all them how to bring vacuum lines in this way. But unlike you I pay them 800-1k a week. You get what you pay for when you have a 10 an hr worker. I suggest you raise your quality so you can raise your prices to be able to afford better techs. Have a nice day.
Been doing this method with the hose here. But you have a free arm to bring solution hose in too. Takes some practice but saves a lot of time. I always bring the wand/ prespay and a vac to the door before the greet and inspection and set them out side the door before hoses are brought inside. Truck mount should be warming up upon arrival.
I didn't see you use any moving blankets..I always have for covering wood and marble floors. 6 blankets on hand for $7 each at harbor freight is the only way to go. They also work great for wrapping around the stair rails at the corners, so they don't get scratched. I'm not big on moving to many things but I never scratch anything.. Also a drop of water on some floors will leave marks. when you work on 2mil dollar plus homes a min or two extra goes a long way.. I have here'd that some things add more time to a job, but if you do things regally as a habit everything is quicker.. The fewer times you walk back and forth the better you are, so opening the doors and pulling the water hose as you walk to the door to knock saves time..give bid, walk out start machine and grab blankets. If you have a helper blankets or towels should be in hand during bid and ready to drop in place. First impression #1 =$$. I could go on but you get the idea..
Had question about this method. Is the vacuum hose reel live, or are you still connecting it directly to the unit? The video doesn't show what he is doing at the front door. Do you have a separate peice of hose going from the unit to the door or is it all one section up to the machine? Also seems like he may have started from the front of the house and worked his way back? I thought you would start from the farthest point and work your way back to the machine.
I agree. But the advantage to "free flow" connects is never losing pressure and lines probably last longer. Key is to have a very good ball valve at the end of your solution line.
I was going to post a request for you to make a video demonstrating this very technique. Looks like you were already on it! Thanks for showing us this, I have been struggling with figuring out a good way to do this. I'm going to start practicing this right away!
hey Rob, going off topic, you mentioned before about using pressure washing quick connects, instead of standard carpet cleaning solution type. Are there any down falls to this?
On to my next job by the time you do that , if its a new house good edges i will take care ,if its old house in need of repair no worry's just drag it in .
HUGE TRIP HAZARD!!! The safest most effective way is to take 25ft sections at a time. Hook them up on the walk back out. More efficient, easier to carry and safer. JIFFY CLEAN
Its easier to take off one at a time so your not denting peoples baseboards or walls up and just incase any car or stuff is in the way like how he didnt disconnect the vacum line he coukd risk hitting cars flowers pots etc, and the reason why i take one vaccum line off at a time is because you dont have to really use corner guards if you are carefull enough but every technician has their own technique
The little details separate the amateur from the professional. What a great tip.

I have my first 50 foot hand wrapped to easily bring in and un wrap as I back track out of the home. then do this method for the remaining hose run.
that's how I've always done it as well.
Both ways work. I’m just a little older and more stubborn. 😁

At the top of the stairs, put your hose hook on so it doesn't fall down while setting up.

JIFFY CLEAN
Jiffy Clean I haven’t tripped in 35 years. But I suppose clumsy people should change it up.
Hey brother i was watching your videO and wondering if you clean offices carpets as well or just residential work you do
+jj jonez Yes we clean commercial (CGD) carpet. We prefer VLM in most cases.

That helper earns his money every job cuts own on setup times save on lugging that much hose especially in a house full of furniture

Hi Guys, Thank you Rob for teach me how to bring the vacuum hose in! I really appreciate it.
I have much more to learn
This way is wrong. Unsafe and not efficient. Trio hazard. Too heavy. Take them in 25ft at a time and hook them up on the way out.
